I arrived at Fort Myers Airport at approximately 10 p.m. to collect a large SUV that I had booked more than a month earlier. I specifically needed a large vehicle because I was travelling with two children, my elderly mother and luggage for a two-week holiday.
After visiting the Alamo desk, we were directed to the parking area, where I was told that no large SUV was available and that I had to accept a midsize SUV instead. I explained that the smaller vehicle was unsuitable for my family and luggage, but I was told it was the only option.
As a result, passengers in both the front and rear seats had to travel with large suitcases on their laps. This was not a minor inconvenience; it created a serious safety concern and could have compromised the correct use of the passengers’ seat belts.
I have since learned that Florida Statute §316.2004 prohibits a vehicle from being loaded in a way that obstructs the driver’s view or interferes with the vehicle’s controls. Florida Statute §316.614 also requires passengers under 18 to be restrained by properly adjusted and fastened seat belts. Alamo should never have placed my family in a situation where travelling safely—and potentially lawfully—was in question.
When I returned the vehicle, I was told that I could receive a $300 refund because of what had happened. Alamo has subsequently refused to refund the money electronically or to the original payment card and will only issue a cheque in US dollars. As a UK resident who cannot readily deposit a USD cheque, this is not a practical or usable refund.
If you need the category of vehicle you have booked—particularly to transport children, elderly passengers and luggage safely—I would strongly recommend choosing another rental company.

Nægter at udlevere bil i barcelonas lufthavn, de siger kørekort er knækket, det er det ikke, ender med at må gå derfra da de hverken vil ændre til mit navn eller gøre noget som helst, går op til 4 forskellige andre udlejere som vil leje ud da der intet problem er med kørekort

What a dreadful experience with Alamo Edinburgh. Interminable queues to pick up a really dirty car with disgusting stained seats. We took photos of all the existing damage to the bodywork - which was hard as the car was so dirty. We returned the car with a full tank of petrol in the same condition as we picked it up. It was fully inspected by Alamo staff and my deposit returned. But over a week later I received a retrospective follow-up claim via email for damage we are supposed to have done - to the roof!! It was sent with no evidence - simply the information that we would be charged repair costs and only refunded if our claim dispute was upheld. Nothing is worth the amount of hassle it’s been trying to get this sorted. I have finally received a DRU notification that the claim has been “voided”. No accompanying email, no apology, not even confirmation that my money has been refunded. Simply “voided”. Alamo appears utterly shameless in the ways it tries to scam its customers - I would avoid them like the plague! Update. I am now having to query a payment to Amazon marketplace made during our stay for items which haven’t shown up on my Amazon account.

Booked and paid €476 online on July 29th for a rental at Belgrade Airport on August 1st.

Upon arrival, the counter agent refused to hand over the car claiming my credit card did not display my full last name. The rental was canceled on the spot, but they KEPT MY €476! No car was provided, yet no refund has been made.

To make matters worse, their official customer support email bounces and rejects incoming emails! It is completely impossible to reach them to solve the issue.

This is unacceptable behavior from an international brand. I am filing a formal complaint with consumer protection agencies and initiating a chargeback procedure with my bank.

AVOID THIS LOCATION AT ALL COSTS!

We had an excellent experience with Alamo Edinburgh. Easy pick up, clear information, easy drop off, quick refund of deposit. Extra thank you to Nikola Paika for friendly service.

Mietauto war nicht vorhanden, kam erst 2 Stunden später; dann wurde ich mit 5km/h zu schnell geblitzt, da ich spät dran war und Alamo hat einfach mal 30 Euro Bearbeitungsgebühr abgebucht. Einfach nur frech und unzuverlässig.

J'ai loué une voiture en Pologne chez Alamo.
Ils n'avaient pas la catégorie prévue et ont voulu m'en proposer une plus chère.
Puis m'ont refusé la location au prétexte qu'il y avait mon nom de jeune fille sur mon permis et mon nom de femme mariée sur mon passeport.
Impossible de se faire rembourser. Sachant que ça n'a pas posé de problème au bureau de hertz... De plus il m'ont prélevé 6 mois plus tard un montant supplémentaire.
Grosse arnaque.

Magen til elendigt kundeservice tror jeg ikke findes. Er blevet røvet for 1000 Euro, og jeg kan bare ikke få mine penge retur! Jeg har aldrig fået den bil jeg har betalt for! Måtte forlade Hamborg lufthavnen uden minlejebil!

Op onze reis in Schotland met een gehuurde auto van Alamo hebben we lekke band gekregen. Na aankost in ons hotel direct gebeld met Alamo (Enterprise rent a car) Na 5 verschillende mensen te hebben gesproken zou er een persoon langskomen om er voor te zorgen dat de band gemaakt werd. Dit bleek een soort ANWB, en kon hem niet maken maar zou ons naar een Kwikfit verplaatsen. Deze had de band niet in voorraad. Hij heeft er voor gezorgd dat er een mobile reparateur kwam. Deze is ook gekomen en onze band gemaakt. De kosten eerst zelf betaald en dit kon ik claimen bij Enterprise. Maar helaas was dit niet verzekerd, volgens de voorwaarde. Terwijl ik een all in contract had. Oké geen claim dus. Na 2 maanden kreeg ik nog een claim van Enterprise, i.v.m. de ANWB man die niets had gedaan. Ik moest nogmaals € 200 betalen. Echt niet normaal hoe zij met je om gaan. echt dieven zijn het. Ik kan alleen maar zeggen ga nooit meer met Alamo (Enterprise) in zee. Erg slechte ervaring mee.

We hebben via Alamo een auto in Pisa gehuurd. Upgrade gekregen en reed heel fijn. Service was netjes en geen schade claim of iets geks gekregen. Alamo bestede het lokaal uit bij locauto, eventueel is dat ook een optie.

Voor een fly en drive vakantie naar Kroatië hebben we via HolidayCars een auto geboekt. Je huurt niet direct bij HolidayCars maar zij checken de beschikbaarheid bij de aanbieders en reserveren een auto voor deze periode.

Bij aankomst in Kroatië - Pula loop je direct tegen een rij van verhuurbedrijven aan. Nu moesten we zoeken, want het is niet duidelijk welke partij er ingeschakeld is. Nou, dit bleek Aloma te zijn.

Bij deze een waarschuwing; BOEK NOOIT EEN AUTO VIA DEZE CONSTRUCTIE.

Op zich loopt het soepel en we kregen een mooie FIAT Panda mee als alternatief voor de gekozen Suzuki Vitara. Prima. Let wel op dat je goed nadenkt over alle verzekeringen die je ter plekke aangeboden worden. Dit wordt half uitgelegd en kosten lopen op tot 450€. Maar waarschijnlijk is dit al geregeld via HolidayCars.

Na een duidelijke instructie hebben we totaal zo'n 700km gereden door Kroatie. Prachtig.

Auto ingeleverd bij vertrek terug, alles was prima. Het niveau van de benzine was iets lager, maar hier werd geen probleem van gemaakt.

MAAR TOEN. Eenmaal terug in Nederland kregen we bericht. Een factuur in het Kroatisch met een reparatie van 770€!! Toelichting; je hebt verkeerde brandstof getankt.

Nou mooi niet. We hebben vrijdag getankt en tot en met donderdag erna zo'n 450km gereden. Geen enkele hapering, niets te merken, reed al die tijd als een zonnetje. Maar ja, je hebt op je credit card een bedrag incl borg gereserveerd. Dat wordt dus allemaal afgehouden zonder dat je er iets aan kunt doen. Ik heb bewijs gevraagd, foto's, een omschrijving van wat ze aantroffen, de kilometer stand, maar 0,0 reactie.

Ook HolidayCars is dan niet bereikbaar. Ze geven aan dat dit een zaak is tussen huurder en verhuurder. Dus boek volgende keer bij Sunny Cars.

DUS WEES GEWAARSCHUWD, BOEK NIET VIA HOLIDAYCARS EN ALOMA.

Volgens onze rechtsbijstand is dit malafide gedrag. Dat zegt genoeg. Hopelijk is een ieder gewaarschuwd bij deze.

Very poor customer service. Booked an automatic, was given a manual. No explanation for this, paid for an additional driver who then couldn't drive it. Have contacted customer service numerous times after this. Have always been told, it's been escalated, will get back to you within 5 working days. Nothing.

Ho preso a noleggio un'auto all'agenzia di Nantes Gare Sud dopo aver prenotato online. L'auto è nuova e la consegna si svolge velocemente. Riconsegno l'auto come stabilito lasciando le chiavi nella cassetta perché l'agenzia era chiusa al momento della consegna. Non ricevendo alcuna comunicazione, contatto il servizio clienti per essere sicura che avessero sbloccato la cauzione e soltanto in quel momento scopro che mi è stato addebitato un extra di circa Eu 60,00 perché sostengono che l'auto sia stata riconsegnata con meno carburante quando, invece, noi abbiamo fatto il pieno proprio prima della consegna. Questo modo di agire non mi sembra assolutamente trasparente e corretto e non userò sicuramente più Alamo in futuro e non consiglio questa compagnia.

Agence CATASTROPHIQUE
On m'a refusé ma location car j'avais ma carte d'identité seulement en numérique (via application officielle de l'état et pas en physique). J'ai du faire 1h de route pour retourner la chercher et enfin pouvoir récupérer le vehicule.

Puis je procède au paiement de 174,22€ et à l'emprunte de carte bancaire de 300€ pour récupérer le vehicule. Jusque ici tout est normal.
Au cours de ma location je suis prélevé par une autre société (rent a car) de 348,44€ et un autre prelevement de 174,22€. Soir un total de 996,22" !!!

Lorsque le vehicule a été rendu, les 300€ deprunte on bien été restitués. J'ai du attendre 3 semaines pour récupérer les 348€. Et a ce jour plus d'un mois après j'ai un mail ou lasociété reconnais une erreur de m'avoir prélevé 2 fois 174,22€ mais ils ne m'ont toujours pas été restitués.
Plus personne ne me reponds, que ce soit par telephone à l'agence ou à mes mails de relance !

Un service client pitoyable aucun respect pour les clients

Bestätigte Buchung für den Berliner Flughafen aber keinen Mietwagen.
Wir hatten eine bestätigte Mietwagenbuchung für Alamo am Berliner Flughafen. Leider wurde unser Flug annulliert und unser neuer Flug kam erst einen Tag später an. Wir haben Alamo angerufen und verbal die Umbuchungsbestätigung von einem Mitarbeiter von Alamo erhalten. Leider fand der Mitarbeiter am Schalter diese Änderung nicht, sondern sagte uns das wir als No Show gelten, sie ohnehin weniger Autos als Buchungen hätten und wir bitte weggehen sollten. Er war nicht bereit uns zu helfen. Er wies darauf hin, das dies schliesslich unser Problem sei und nicht seines. Bei mehreren Hundert Mietwagenbuchungen habe ich dergleichen nie erlebt und werde in Zukunft Alamo meiden.

J'ai payé 347 € pour 10 jours au moment de la réservation : très bon tarif

Lorsque je suis allé récupérer le véhicule, j'ai été contraint de souscrire une assurance à 293,40 € sous prétexte que je ne possédais pas de carte de crédit (mais seulement une carte de débit). J'ai déjà loué des voitures auprès d'autres agences avec cette même carte sans jamais rencontrer une telle situation ni être obligé de prendre une assurance.
Ensuite, un supplément de 123 € a été ajouté pour un passer une frontière.
En incluant le coût du plein de carburant, le total s'élevait à 498,40 €.
Cependant, le montant réellement débité a été de 541,77 €.
On m'a expliqué qu'il s'agissait de frais bancaires. Cela m'étonne, car ces frais représentent 8,7 % du montant, alors que mon taux habituel est de 2,3 % (taux appliqué à tous les paiements effectués en Pologne).
Au final, cette location m'a coûté 889 € au lieu des 347 € initiaux.

I am very happy with this company. I borrow around twice a year and never encountered problems. Costa Rica and Spain appeared to me especially noteworthy and well organized in regards of pick-up and drop-off!

Bonne expérience concernant l'aéroport de Cracovie formalités claires personnel pro et accueillant voiture conforme à mes attentes manquait juste l'antenne radio rien de redibitoire mais pas d'explications à ce sujet bon rapport qualité prix caution raisonnable
