Excellent For On The Go Brushing!
Great for travel or on the go brushing without h2o. It’s also an excellent alternative to polluting plastic toothbrushes. Still adjusting to the unique flavor. Although adding a bit of organic rosemary oil seems to do the trick!

Thank you! We're glad it's become your go-to for brushing on the go without water, and for skipping the plastic toothbrush. Thanks for sharing your rosemary trick for the flavor too. Hasan, The Miswak Stick
Better than many brushes!
Most toothbrushes fail miserably at cleaning teeth. The only brand I've found that cleans thoroughly, where you feel like you just left the dentist office, is Dr. Plotka's Mouth Watchers brand. Needless to say, I was skeptical of this little stick, but I tried it after reading the research behind it, and finding a company that sold a good quality option. After all, it is a tool routinely, and successfully, used by other cultures. Some reviews indicated the scent of the stick, once the bark is peeled, was challenging for some individuals. It does have a unique scent, but I love just about all things herbs, so the scent of the wood was not an issue for me, in spite of having an acute sense of smell. Having a stick in your mouth and wood against your teeth can be a unique feeling, but it is worth the process of conditioning oneself to the practice. As for me, I am happy to report that yes, I still use my toothbrush and my cleaning systems at home, but the toiletry bag in my camping gear, and sometimes the toiletry bag I travel with, as well as my office drawer, all only carry one item for oral care now... my miswak stick. Once I figured out how to reach the back of my teeth, my miswak stick goes with me wherever I go. Why? It cleans just as thoroughly as my Mouth Watchers toothbrush. I still use my Mouth Watchers before bed, when I'm at home, but when I'm not at home, my oral cleaning gear is now made up of one stick, and I couldn't be more thrilled about it! Especially helpful is the fact that the miswak has naturally occurring fluoride, so using your stick several times in a day, is especially beneficial to your teeth's health.

Hi Sandra, thank you for such a thoughtful review, and for giving the miswak a fair try after reading the research. You're right that the scent is distinctive, and we're glad it hasn't been an issue for you. Thank you, Hasan
Gross, Microplastics, Damaged Goods and Horrible Shipping
They do not tell you that the product smells and tastes horrible—I mean if they did it would be a terrible marketing strategy so I can’t blame them.
What was worse was that I paid more for shipping than the product. Then, the product was damaged and late by two months in (guess what?) A BROKEN PLASTIC BAG! In another AIR-TIGHT SEALED PLASTIC BAG. Because the product somehow got damaged and they decided to fix it with more plastic! Might as well buy a normal plastic toothbrush at this point.

Hi Chloe, we're sorry. Your order took far too long, arrived damaged, and the shipping cost more than the stick, and none of that is okay. You're also right about the plastic: each stick is vacuum-sealed so it stays fresh and doesn't grow mold in transit, and we know that sits badly next to a natural product, so we're looking at alternatives. The taste and smell come from the root's natural compounds and are strongest at first, but they aren't for everyone. Please email orders@themiswakstick.com and we'll refund your order in full. Thank you, Hasan

Hi Amy, thank you for the review and the helpful note on the instructions. Soak the tip in water for 10 to 15 minutes if it feels dry or stiff, and trim the used end every day or two to keep the fibers fresh. Our How to Use guide on the website covers each step in more detail. Thank you, Hasan

Hi Terry, thank you for the honest feedback. Nothing is added to our sticks; the sharp taste comes from benzyl isothiocyanate, the natural compound a miswak releases as you chew, which is also what fights bacteria, and most people get used to it within a few days. Loose fibers usually mean the tip is dry or has been chewed too long, so soak it in water for 10 to 15 minutes, chew only the tip until it splays, and trim the used end every day or two. Our How to Use guide on the website walks through each step, and if it still isn't working for you, email orders@themiswakstick.com and we'll make it right. Thank you, Hasan
Miswak sticks.
It took quite a while to receive but i understand its a new business and small. So not really a problem. The sticks are small and would have like larger ones but they are doing great on my teeth. They make them feel so nice and slick and clean. I rate it a 4.5

You're right on both counts: shipping took far too long, and we shouldn't have been sending you offers while you were still waiting on your first order. We've changed our shipping so orders now arrive within 5 to 6 business days, and we're looking at our emails so new customers aren't sent offers before their first order arrives. Thank you, Hasan
