Avoid this firm.
After being given a name of an agent to phone to sign up to Teya from a friend, I purchased two terminals for my small business in July this year. I downloaded the Teya app to get connected but was unable to complete the process due to not being able to ‘click on’ to the ‘next questions’.
I rang the agent and was told ‘he’d get Teya to reset the app’. Despite trying time and time again to go forward with setting it up, it wouldn’t let me get any further forward. I tried ringing and texting the agent but ‘no answer, for over two weeks.
Eventually I heard from him, he told me ‘he’d been away from his job due to family illness, but would now get it sorted. Unfortunately, nothing did get sorted. I tried several more times to register with the app to no avail. Finally in September this year, I contacted Teya direct to ask for a full refund. I was told that ‘because the terminals were purchased over thirty days ago, I couldn’t be refunded’
I’ve told them by email early last month that I want to make a formal complaint. I’ve heard nothing since.
The terminals cost me around £170.
I am thinking my only move from now would apply to the small claims court.

If I could give less than one star
If I could give less than one star, I certainly would. Teya has frozen my business funds despite my providing supporting evidence and explanations. I operate other card machines and have processed thousands of transactions over the past four years without any issues. It is extremely disappointing that a business account can be treated this way, causing unnecessary stress and financial difficulties. If Teya cannot provide reliable payment services and fair treatment to legitimate businesses, why offer these services in the first place? Please do not treat genuine business customers as money launderers without proper grounds. This approach will only damage your reputation and drive customers away.

Misinformed about fees
While the reps who signed me up were very nice and helpful. They forgot to inform me of the fee if you didn't make a certain amount in a month. So I was hit a few months of fees over the holidays while away. And again when I made the amount in a month, but apparently it's based on settlement. Not great for micro business! When you've had a bad month they make it worse

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We completely understand that you were not expecting the Minimum Volume Fees applied to your account. Your specific Minimum Volume Threshold and applicable fees are communicated in your "Welcome to Teya" email when you onboard with us.
To clarify how the fee is calculated, we measure your payment volume in full calendar months, starting from your first full month as a Teya Member. From your third full calendar month onwards, your Minimum Volume Threshold is calculated using a three-month rolling average. The fee is only applied when you do not meet the threshold agreed in your contract.
