This website
No cookies, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party content: fonts and scripts come from this site. The site is delivered by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and basic request data to serve and protect it, based on legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare may process this outside the EU under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
The app
The app runs on your computer. It has no account and no telemetry, and sends nothing to us.
- The installer downloads from this site and from GitHub, the Python Package Index and Astral (uv), who receive your IP address under their own policies.
- To tell you about updates, the app now and then asks which version is current: it downloads this site's installer script (or, for a copy installed from a branch, asks GitHub for that branch's newest commit). Nothing about you or your projects is sent. You can turn this off in the app's settings.
- To list public decomps, the app asks decomp.dev for its project list: only when you open Public decomps, at most once a day. The request carries a random identifier made for your install (nothing about you or your computer), so decomp.dev's rate limit counts each install on its own. Forking a project downloads it from its host (such as GitHub), and the project's own setup may download its tools. These services receive your IP address under their own policies.
- The AI agent or API you connect receives the code it works on, under your own agreement with that provider.
- If you decompile a game together with others, your computers connect directly to the host's room, at an address the host chooses or through a Cloudflare quick tunnel the host opens; we are not involved and never see what's shared.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you (in practice, only emails you send us) by writing to legal@decomp.wtf. You can also complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).
