Brillaint experience in The Works in Kirkby town centre. Michelle and Millie where really helpful and nothing was too much. We had a big order of books and both of the ladies were going out of their way to help us. Thank you so much

Crawford and black are my favourite art company. I used to love going to the works and when an item I wanted in store was not there I would shop online for it. They have took online away and now I can’t get the art supplies I want. The only available option now is to go into the city and that will cost a lot for parking for such cheap items. It just isn’t worth it anymore. I’m gutted. They need an option to order online and collect in store or a request option to request stock locally.

I recently purchased two Dino Eggs in green my twin grandsons aged 6 chose them they looked quite robust so I agreed for £7 each I subsequently realised that they were very overpriced they had to try and open the egg none of us could do it we ended up outside and literally slamming them down on the floor!!! Several times till it smashed and when they did the boys were so disappointed as they ended up with two tiny dinosaur one egg and two tiny bones would not recommend very dissatisfied with this these toys if you could call them that

The Works Aylesbury is the worst bookshop, staff are really unhelpful and new releases do not go on display on the actual release date. Went in for the new Frieda McFadden book and was told it was still upstairs on a pallet we asked if he could get one and he said no we would have to come back the next day- lost 2 sales there and we had to pay for parking for a wasted trip. Drove to the works in Haddenham Garden Centre on the same day, by far a better store picked up the new release and the staff were so welcoming. Will not set foot in the works Aylesbury again.

Dont buy a gift card from The Works. Bought my kid a gift card £20 gone. It expired. You've had the £20 why rob people of their kids money. Wont step foot into their theiving shops again

Only giving 2 stars because the staff in the store are really nice. Everything i buy in here is very poor quality UNLESS you buy a branded item (e.g Pritt Stik or Steadlaer).Anything branded by the works is rubbish!colouring pencils that barely colour. Even the more "premium" ones. Pack of pens in which ONE works. The craft kits are shocking. Really poor instructions and pieces that don't fit together etc. I have just tried again with yet another craft kit and again its been a let down. Painted the whole thing only for it not to fit together. Straight in the bin. Don't bother buying anything from here. Spend the extra and go elsewhere. Unless you want a notebook.

I had only came to the place 2 times and the the cashiers were super kind.When it was my first time i got the kindest and best service and on my second time i got even better service. 10/10 Amazing.Five stars.

Visited the Works Cheetham Hill this morning. I was looking for a book I couldn’t find it on the shelves, the girl who served me was extremely helpful she went in the back stockroom I wasn’t sure of the exact title of the book but she searched and found it I was so pleased.
This was excellent customer service and the staff were so friendly a lovely place to shop.

Visited the works in Durrington tesco West Sussex, was approached by the manager his name was Graham, he was really staring at my autistic daughter, I felt really uncomfortable with this situation and I was going to approach him to ask why are you staring at my daughter, we left the store without purchasing anything, really annoying about this,and not acting professionally as a manager

From the offset, my experience was awful. I found their range of literature unpleasant and utterly inappropriate. I found a surplus of intercourse-related paraphernalia from the frankly absurd to the downright degenerate. As a good Christian mother of 4 (youngest 3 and oldest 3), I consider it completely unacceptable that my children be exposed to such indecent books. As Stevens 13:2 says "thou shall not expose thou kin to that which thou would not wish to be exposed to thouself".

One can only sympathise with some of the other people writing reviews about this store. Since the removal of ordering online to pick up or be delivered it has slowly declined into a bog standard store , running side by side with B&M, Poundland and Bargain Stores.

It used to have a loyalty card but that too was also removed along with any points it had on it. It has become surplus to need now and from what I am seeing and these recent changes one can see it may not be around for much longer.

The shop in Wood Green does have an exceptional member of staff in Badal who is just the ultimate person you want working in a store, full of life, banter and a genuine human being. The Works gets a second star for him alone. What used to be my one stop for birthdays, Christmas, celebrations has now become a once in a blue moon visitor see if there are any genuine bargains. I did purchse some children's binoculars there recently for two grandchildren and they broke as quickly as they were opened.

Gone right downhill, lost its edge on competitors and not worth going out of your way for.

The Works Derby Derbion 5* store always well stocked & staff are fabulous today 9/7/26 the 2 assistants went above & beyond to find the items I was looking for. Thank you see you again soon total gem of a store 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I used to love shopping at The Works, but since they have stopped allowing people to order from their website, I can no longer be a customer of theirs. I can't always visit the store and when I do, they never have what I want in stock so being able to order online is a vital service.

70 Mostyn Street, Llandudno, Conwy Wales has cockroaches in the books... Don't want them in the house they are taped onto the front of there window!

My child told me about their experience in your shop today, and I was disappointed to hear it.

They arrived around five minutes before closing, stepped only a couple of feet inside, and were immediately told to leave. They politely asked if they could quickly check whether something was in stock and were told no and asked to get out again.

I completely understand not wanting customers staying past closing time, but the shop was still open and there’s a polite way to handle that.

I can’t help but wonder whether they were treated this way because they were children, as I struggle to believe the same approach would have been taken if an adult had been with them.
