Hi,
We are sincerely sorry for the experience you had and understand how stressful it must have been to encounter issues at the airport.
However, we would like to clarify a few important points. You already had a one-way ticket. To board your flight, you needed proof of onward travel, which is exactly the purpose of our service. We provided exactly what was advertised—a genuine flight reservation. We have never advertised that our reservations are purchased airline tickets or that they include a ticket number. This information is clearly explained in our FAQ, Terms & Conditions, and Disclaimer before purchase.
As stated in our Disclaimer:
7. No Guarantee of Acceptance
Acceptance of our reservations depends on the policies of embassies, immigration authorities, and airlines. While our documents are verifiable, we cannot guarantee that every authority will accept them.
8. Limitation of Liability
Our maximum liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific order. We are not responsible for indirect losses, delays, rejections, or other consequences arising from the use of our service.
In the vast majority of cases, our genuine flight reservations are accepted, allowing customers to avoid purchasing an expensive return ticket and save hundreds of dollars. Unfortunately, in your case, the airline chose not to accept the reservation. As clearly stated in our Disclaimer, we cannot guarantee acceptance by every airline, embassy, or immigration authority.
Our service is designed to help customers avoid the cost of purchasing a return or fully refundable ticket when proof of onward travel is required. When a reservation is accepted, customers can save hundreds of dollars while paying only our service fee. When it is not accepted, our liability remains limited to the amount paid for the service, as stated in our Disclaimer.
For that reason, we cannot accept responsibility for more than $600 in airline tickets and other travel expenses when the service purchased cost $24, which we have already refunded in full as a gesture of goodwill.
Finally, we respectfully disagree with your characterization of our company as a “scam.” A scam implies taking payment without providing the promised service. In your case, we delivered the flight reservation exactly as described and refunded your payment in full. While we understand your disappointment, it is not accurate or fair to describe our business as fraudulent.
Sincerely,
The Book Onward Ticket Team
