Went to the branch in Walthamstow
Went to the branch in Walthamstow, London. Puts a bad name on SportsDirect. Why do people go to store rather than shopping online? They want to see and try things in real world and buy from the branch. Otherwise, why bother? Now I know the area has many shoplifters, buy you are treating your customers like cattle. The whole section upstairs, ladies clothing and shoes. No mirrors to be found (too much effort to clean daily?) to see how the clothing like jackets fits. Changing room? What? Forget about a luxury like this. Upfront you are told that only 3 items max, then you discover the changing room is fact bolted shut DURING business working hours. Then the Staff member doesn't know where the key is, uses walkie-talkie and then gets told that only manager can unlock and they are on break, lol. This is basic necessity if you are selling clothing, and you lock it down? Then the staff: they were not rude at all, but were evasive, we went there for 15 minutes trying shoes, and nobody bother to even ask if anyone needs help, they were conveniently moving through side valleys, and this was very much off-peak. 0 proactivity, not even basic engagement. The staff at the till was friendly, but we ended up not buying 75% of things we were originally after. Are you just here to sell stuff to blokes that don't ever try things, so why do you even bother with ladies section upstairs? Low sales? I wonder why?! This looks like a franchise store, owned by someone who is more terrified of loss due to shoplifting than ensuring the customers feel welcome and valued. Do you think fairy low prices will keep the door open? Well, think again. I will not be going to this branch, and in fact I'm less likely to visit other branches too, even the good branches like Piccadilly Circus. I will take my money elsewhere. And even after you start making changes in the right direction, it will take years before you can re-earn trust, not as a cheap sports store for blokes, but as a good quality, reliable chain that cares about their staff and customers. Your staff has no incentive to work at earnest and you can't micromanage them. You either evolve or you will loose to other retailers.
