I rented a car from Volta4u outside the Mykonos airport, for 2 days. I returned the car with a minor, superficial scratch which the employ missed it when inspecting the car at return. I felt the right thing was to report it and .....EURO 300 later I left the island with a bitter feeling. Not because of the island but this company and their action. Important to mention that the daily rate was EURO 30 so now I understand how they make their profit. It is important to mention that the scratch was of the type that it disappears with a soft rub and a cream. Never again Volta4u. I asked them to send me a copy of the body shop invoice. Haven't received anything yet.

Un desastre. Alquilamos un coche con esta compañia. Al dejar estacionado el coche fuera del hotel algun vehiculo nos hizo un arañazo en el coche. Para sorpresa, ellos no se hacian responsables de los daños que le puedan pasar al coche mientras lo tengo yo alquilado. Es decir, pague 150€ del coche, 40€ mas por cogerlo a partir de las 23 de la noche y además los 320€ que ellos me cobraron por un rasguño en el coche que NO HICIMOS NOSOTROS. Me parece lamentable. 0 recomendado

We had a very unpleasant experience at the Corfu branch.

Upon picking up the rental car, we discovered that the drop-off location did not match what was specified on our booking voucher. The staff assured us that if I dropped my family and luggage off at the original location first and then brought the car to their updated drop-off point, they would provide a return shuttle for free. They even confirmed this agreement in writing via WhatsApp.

However, when I did exactly that, they demanded an additional €30 fee for the return. The staff was extremely rude, causing significant delays and immense inconvenience for our family

Disappointing experience at the Chania Airport branch.
I had already purchased Full Protection Insurance in advance through Booking.com, but at the counter I was told that because I had a Revolut card, my only option was to buy their local insurance package (€35/day). At no point beforehand was I clearly warned that a physical credit card was required or that a debit/Revolut card would leave me no choice but to pay for their coverage. Had I known, I'd simply have brought a different card.

Even when I explained twice that I already had full insurance, the response was entirely focused on insisting that my existing cover didn't matter and that I had to take the local package. It felt like a costly surprise sprung at pickup when you're tired and just want your car. When I asked to cancel, I was told it was non-refundable mid-rental.
Be very careful and clarify the card and deposit requirements BEFORE you travel.

One of the staff called Crete "the best place on Earth", but the way guests to their island are treated leaves a sour impression - the feeling that they're trying to trick you and squeeze money out of you from the very start.

⚠️ Avoid Volta4u – prepaid reservation refused, no assistance and no response

I strongly recommend NOT renting a car from Volta4u based on our experience.

We had a pre-paid and confirmed vehicle reservation for our family holiday in Greece. The day before collection, we completed everything requested: registered two drivers, provided all identification documents and driving licences, and supplied the credit card details. We even contacted Volta4u the day before collection and were asked to provide the voucher, which we did.

Despite all of this, when we arrived to collect the vehicle, Volta4u refused to provide us with the reserved car. We were left without the vehicle we had already paid for, with our holiday starting in the worst possible way.

What made the situation even worse was the complete lack of assistance. We tried repeatedly to resolve the matter and sent five complaint emails over the following month, yet received no meaningful response from Volta4u, we have been ignored.

This is not simply about a disappointing rental experience. A family had planned and paid for a holiday, had completed all the requested documentation in advance, and reasonably expected the confirmed reservation to be honoured. Instead, we were left extremely upset and stressed at the very start of our holiday, having to deal with the consequences ourselves.

What is particularly concerning is that our experience does not appear to be isolated. Recent customer reviews also describe prepaid vehicles not being available, customers being left without assistance, and difficulties obtaining refunds or responses from customer service. (Trustpilot)

Volta4u’s own published terms state that prepaid bookings are subject to specific conditions, including requirements concerning licences, identification and credit cards. In our case, we had provided the requested documentation and credit-card information before collection. (Volta4U)

Our experience was unacceptable: a prepaid reservation, all requested documents supplied, confirmation and communication before collection — yet no vehicle and virtually no customer support afterwards.

I would strongly advise other travellers to think very carefully before booking with Volta4u and to consider using a rental company with a stronger record of customer service and reliable handling of prepaid reservations.

Very disappointing and extremely stressful way to start a family holiday.

After renting a car with Volta through Booking.com, you’d think a prepaid reservation would actually be honored. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for my friend and me.

Our reservation was for 10:00 a.m. local time. Knowing we were going to be late due to travel delays, we called the number provided and left a message with their office letting them know we would be arriving later that afternoon.

We arrived at approximately 12:45 p.m. and were told that because we had not arrived within two hours of the reservation time, we had been marked as a no-show and our reservation had been canceled. The representative told us that Volta had canceled the reservation and notified Booking.com. We received no email or phone call from either company informing us of the cancellation.

What made this even more frustrating was that the representative acknowledged that they hadn’t even checked their messages yet, meaning our attempt to notify them that we were delayed had gone unheard.

The representative called Booking.com to see if anything could be done, but ultimately deferred the issue back to them. After going back and forth on the phone while standing inside the Volta office, we were then told that we could still rent the exact same car we had originally reserved, but for approximately double the price.

That was the part that really bothered me. The vehicle we had prepaid for was still sitting there and had not been given to another renter. Yet instead of honoring the original reservation, we were being asked to pay twice as much for the same vehicle.

We were never made aware through Booking.com of a two-hour no-show policy, nor did we receive terms and conditions directly from Volta explaining that our prepaid reservation would be canceled under these circumstances. Combined with the fact that the same vehicle was still available at a significantly higher price, the entire experience felt incredibly manipulative and designed to take advantage of travelers who were already in a difficult situation.

We declined and managed to book a vehicle with another company for the following day for less than our original Volta reservation.

I would not recommend Volta based on this experience. If you currently have a reservation with them, I would seriously reconsider it and make sure you fully understand their cancellation and no-show policies beforehand.

At minimum, a full refund should have been issued. Better yet, Volta could simply have honored the original prepaid agreement, especially considering the vehicle was still available and had not been rented out at all that day.

Truffa: avevamo già pagato la nostra auto tramite la piattaforma Booking. Una volta arrivati, non essendo in possesso di una carta di credito(il conducente era in possesso di carta di debito, prepagata e Revolut) per pagare il deposito cauzionale intestata al conducente principale ma a quello secondario, l’agenzia non ha voluto venirci incontro in nessun modo. Anzi, la ragazza al desk era molto scortese e ci ha restituito solo una parte dell’importo pagato lasciandoci senza auto alle 20:30 di sera.

Abbiamo affittato un'auto con loro a Skiathos che aveva evidenti problemi di batteria e abbiamo dovuto pagare la prima volta 292 euro (!!!) per la sostituzione sentendoci dire che era colpa nostra che avevamo lasciato accesa qualcosa...poi dopo due giorni la fantastica batteria da 292 euro ancora si è rotta e abbiamo rischiato di perdere pure il traghetto perchè la macchina non partiva neanche quella volta. Poi ci siamo pure sentiti dire che quelli dell'agenzia sono andati li' e la macchina partiva normalmente.
Abbiamo richiesto il rimborso visto che era ovviamente un problema della macchina, ma han fatto finta di niente. Mai piu'

Terribile, macchina vecchia sporca con zero benzina e ti fanno pagare l'assicurazione kasko in più in loco. Statene alla larga

Nous avons réservé une location de voiture à Mykonos avec Volta4u pour un budget d'environ 350 € la semaine. Nous n'avions pas fait attention que les cartes de débit n'étaient pas acceptées (ils n'acceptent que les cartes de crédit).
Résultat : une fois au guichet, ils ont refusé de nous fournir la voiture sauf si nous prenions leur assurance sans franchise à 550 €
Nous avons refusé. Ils ont ne nous ont pas remboursé les 350 € déjà versés.

ARNAQUE.

Nous sommes arrivés à 1h du matin et comme nous avions pas de carte de crédit nous avons été obligé de payer 300€ de frais. C’est un système bien rodé beaucoup de personnes se font avoir.

Une horreur. Le site n'est pas sur l'aéroport, l'accueil est détestable. Nous avions réservé sur Booking et là aucun souci pour nous taxer 400 balles. Une fois sur place impossible de prendre le véhicule car la carte ne convenait pas (carte de débit et non de crédit). Impossible de s'arranger, même avec une autre carte (de crédit cette fois-ci) au même nom mais prénom différent. Nous nous sommes retrouvés sans solution, la nuit tombante et après 2h pour trouver une solution. Notre argent n'est pas récupérable et nous avons dû retourner à l'aéroport louer chez Hertz (plus cher mais carré). A fuir absolument !

Attention ARNAQUE!!!
Je suis passé par le site BSP. Contrairement à ce qu’il est indiqué sur leur site, l’agence n’est pas à l’aéroport d’Heraklion. Elle est situé à quelques minutes de navette.
Sur place personnel très désagréable qui a tout simplement refusé la location car soi disant les 3 cartes de paiement présentées ne conviennent pas pour la caution: 1 VISA crédit. 1 Amex Crédit et 1 Mastercard Débit. Résultat: location payée, aucune voiture louée et grosse galère avec 2 enfants pour trouver une voiture en last minute un 17 août… à éviter absolument

L'adresse affichée sur le bon de réservation indiquait "Corfu port". Nous les avons choisis pour ce critère car nous arrivions d'Albanie en bateau. En réalité, ils sont installés à l'aéroport (!) nous avons du rejoindre un chauffeur à plus d'1 km du port avec tous nos bagages en pleine chaleur, à pied. Pour le retour, pas de chauffeur disponible : nous avons du payer un taxi (!!).

I specifically chose this rental because Volta4U appeared to be a reputable and well-reviewed company, which gave me confidence when booking.

However, when we arrived in Crete, our rental was ultimately handled by a completely different company, Monza. Instead of the Volkswagen T-Cross or similar SUV/crossover category we had booked, we were given a Fiat Tipo.

As a customer, I find it very disappointing to select a rental partly on the reputation of one company and then discover on arrival that the actual rental is being handled by another.

The experience did not match the level of trust I had placed in Volta4U when making the booking.

I recently rented a vehicle through Volta4U for a family trip to Crete, and unfortunately this was the worst car-rental experience I have had during my seven visits to Greece.

We were flying into Heraklion and out of Chania, so I booked a one-way rental and paid the additional €70 drop-off fee in advance. Because we were a family of five traveling with five pieces of luggage, I also specifically chose a Nissan Qashqai after researching the size and luggage capacity.

When we arrived at Heraklion Airport, we were unexpectedly told that a shuttle would take us to Monza Rental Car. This was confusing because my reservation and payment had been made directly through Volta4U, and I had not understood during booking that another company would actually be handling the rental.

At Monza, I was immediately told that the Nissan Qashqai I reserved was unavailable and that I would receive another vehicle in the same category. The replacement was noticeably smaller, which was a real issue considering we had five passengers and five pieces of luggage.

The experience became even more concerning during the paperwork. The representative attempted to charge me another €70 one-way fee even though I had already paid that exact fee to Volta4U. The charge was only dropped after I showed my Volta4U receipt proving it had already been paid.

I was then strongly pressured to purchase additional collision insurance even after clearly saying I did not want it. After I declined, a €2,000 security deposit was placed on my credit card, and the representative repeatedly told me that it could take several months for the deposit to be released. The entire interaction felt unnecessarily aggressive and seemed designed to pressure me into buying additional insurance.

I understand that rental companies sometimes substitute vehicles and may require security deposits. What bothered me was the combination of issues: being sent to another rental company without clear disclosure, receiving a smaller vehicle than expected, being asked to pay a fee twice, and being heavily pressured to purchase additional insurance.

Crete is a beautiful island with many excellent local rental companies. Based on my experience, I would not rent through Volta4U or Monza Heraklion again.

Staff is great and very informative. I was given by another car. I’m not happy with the fuel consumption of the car but it is okey.

Zona Heraklion aeroporto sono a dir poco PESSIMI!!! DA EVITARE Personale antipatico, crea difficoltà e disagio. Creano problemi inutili per farti acquistare qualcosa da loro a prezzi esagerati..
Ho visto più persone che hanno avuto problemi con loro. Noi avevamo già pagato l'assicurazione per la copertura full e loro hanno insistito a fare acquistare la loro. Ovviamente non abbiamo accettato e abbiamo cercato altro (andati da Centauro che sono il top)

Arrivata a Skyatos, usciti dall’eroporto nessuno è venuto a prenderci, ho telefonato al numero del noleggio e mi è stato detto “la tua auto ha fatto un incidente, è alta stagione non ho altre auto, arrangiati non siamo tenuti ad aiutarti, se mi cancella qualcuno ti chiamo”
Nessuno mi aveva avvisata per tempo ne mail ne telefonata e mi sono trovata in vacanza senza auto dopo aver pagato e prenotato un mese prima 260 euro. SCAPPATE DA QUESTO NOLEGGIO, NON FATEVI ROVINARE LE FERIE
