Excellent service from the helpful staff at Abbeygate..handled the claim with no hassle. Highly recommend

We had 2 cars insured with these people. Same make/model/engine. Premiums were different and could not get a satisfactory reason out of them for this. Additionally, I was quoted that the renewal preium for one of them would be the same as last year. They took an additional amount from my debit card then justified this by saying thay had not charged enough last year. I told then to cancel before the renewal date but they ignored my email. So it looks like we will be off to court shortly.

Paid out promply and really went out of their way to try resolve claim

I was in a car accident that was not my fault. Substantial amount of damage to the side of the car.
Fulvia was incredibly amazing during a very stressful time. Although the guy that hit me was very amenable which helped. My Spanish is not too good. Fulvia spoke with him and organised everything to perfection. She took the stress away from me. Absolutely brilliant.

Enrique was very helpful and responsive throughout the process of replacing our car window. Although it took the mechanics at the workshop a long time to give us a date for the replacement, Enrique guided us through every step of the way with clear instructions. We are very happy with Abbeygate seguros!

Some drains in my bathroom were damaged by roots, and the repair involved among other things the replacement of the shower floor. Abbeygate dealt with my claim swiftly and kept me informed about progress. An excellent experience. I highly recommend Abbeygate.

I would not recommend Abbeygate based on my experience.

As an expat in Spain, one of the main reasons for using a broker like Abbeygate is the expectation that they will make things easier when you actually need help. Unfortunately, when I tried to use a handyman service included as part of the policy, the whole experience turned into a mess of poor communication, contradictory explanations, missed appointments and very questionable handling.

The first contractor who attended gave an account of the job that was simply untrue. I provided video evidence showing that fixings were present and that the work was straightforward. Abbeygate appeared to accept that this first report was wrong, and a second visit was then arranged. That second appointment did not happen as agreed. After that, I was told the job was not covered after all, despite the fact that contractors had already been assigned more than once.

Even more concerning, people then turned up at my property apparently not to do the work, but seemingly to take photographs and gather evidence. That felt intrusive, unnecessary and completely lacking in professionalism.

What should have been a simple assistance request became an exhausting and frustrating experience. The communication between Abbeygate, the insurer and the contractors was extremely poor, and at no point did I feel that the situation was being handled in a clear, competent or transparent way.

For expats especially, trust, clarity and support matter. This experience gave me the exact opposite. I would strongly advise others to think very carefully before using Abbeygate.

Brilliant service by the team.Charlie was great. I had to get used to spanish ways of repairs which is a lot slower than the UK but the service was brilliant. I had to pay the excess which was the only disappointment and they didn't pursue the people that left an illegal unlit skip in the road that I hit. Their legal team deemed it not worth it despite knowing who owned the skip.
It will also effect my next premium. But abbeygate were very good.
Highly recommend them as a car insurance. Very very efficient. They used a British garage to get repairs done as well so no la guage barrier. Matt , in estepona accident repair centre . Fantastic service by him and his team .

I know you have to make a living but really 8 weeks (!) to refund my money after me buying a new car?!? Then I have to chase you (again)… Agent to insurance company, insurance company to agent, a ent to finance department then finance department to director to get the money back?!? Really unprofessional and unnecessarily long drawn out process that obviously keeps MY money in your account for as long as possible… we pay you INSTANTLY… but you make it nigh on impossible to get it back… certainly not quickly! Not recommended at all!! Do yourself a favour and AVOID Abbegate Espana!
