Purchased a number plate over 3 weeks ago, very disappointed with the service and lack of transparency, no updates since a chased them for an invoice was also very disappointed that they didn't inform me when I purchased that the reg didn't belong to them and it was a commission based sale, really wouldn't recommend this company unfortunately, also just noticed that the number plate a bought is still being advertised elsewhere so unsure what exactly is going on! Order number is 210958 .

Really really happy with my experience after reading other reviews please read t&cs so you understand the process and dvla rules in relation to changing plates. My plate was changed with dvla in less than 3 working days handled by absolute!! Dvla didnt require a physical copy of my log book on this occasion which im aware can slow things down. I then requested the ev948 from the customer care team whom always came straight back to me so I can have plates made locally as i didn't request next day delivery for plates off the website, not realising this guys move so quickly and I would like to use my car.

I’m giving Absolute Reg 2 stars rather than 1 because the registration itself was successfully transferred to my vehicle. My issue is specifically with the additional £39.99 "Fully Managed Transfer Service".

Absolute Reg’s website says customers using the assisted transfer service will be contacted by a member of the transfer team, have the process discussed with them, and be kept updated throughout. It also describes the service as being handled “from start to finish”.

That simply wasn’t my experience. I received mainly automated/generic communications and no meaningful personal contact from a transfer-team member. As a first-time private registration customer, that guidance was one of the main reasons I paid extra for a “Fully Managed” service.

When I formally complained, Absolute Reg relied heavily on its Terms & Conditions, including a clause stating that the T&Cs take precedence over other information displayed online. Their position was essentially that the paid service only covered handling the legal DVLA transfer. In my view, that sits very uneasily with the much broader promises made on the website and makes those assurances feel rather hollow.

The more concerning issue was the advice given after the transfer. Once DVLA had assigned my new registration, Absolute Reg’s email said I had seven working days to fit the new plates and could “continue to use your vehicle as usual without any worries.”

However, DVLA’s own published guidance says the new number plates must be fitted before the vehicle is driven following assignment.

I had in fact driven the vehicle on its previous plates after the transfer, relying on the information I had been given. Thankfully I was not stopped.

I also had not purchased physical plates from Absolute Reg and had to contact them myself to obtain an eV948 Number Plate Authorisation Certificate so I could have the new plates made locally. Nobody proactively explained that this document was available, which again feels like exactly the sort of practical guidance a “Fully Managed” service should provide to a first-time customer.

Absolute Reg rejected my complaint and refused to refund the £39.99.

The registration transfer itself worked, hence the 2 stars, but based on my experience I would not pay extra for the Fully Managed Transfer Service again. The advertised level of contact and support simply did not materialise for me.

They are selling plates they dont actually have. Tried to buy one, lady phoned me up tellinge the plate sold privately. Total waste of time.

The transfer was very quick, hassle free and efficient.
