I'm another international customer that's been stung by the high charges for an international return.
The shoes took two weeks to arrive. They didn't fit and I've had to pay £25 to return shoes, then they say there'll be a $10 restocking fee. Do not take the risk.
The international returns process is abysmal and expensive

Extremely disappointing customer service and a complete lack of accountability for product quality.
I ordered four shirts from this company, all in size small, at nearly $100 each. Three of the shirts were consistent in size, but the fourth was noticeably wider despite having the exact same size label. For a company charging nearly $100 per shirt, I expect basic quality control and consistency in its products.
I contacted customer service to explain the issue and advised that I had already washed the shirts, hoping the defective one would shrink to match the other three. I also explained that I hadn't reached out sooner because I had been on active-duty military orders and had only recently returned home. Initially, the representative assured me they would work with me to exchange the defective shirt, despite it having been washed.
What followed was an unnecessarily frustrating and time-consuming back-and-forth. Customer service representative Yannie repeatedly requested additional information, first asking for photos comparing the shirts, which I promptly provided. She then requested another set of photos showing the actual measurements to verify the size discrepancy, which I also provided. The photos clearly demonstrated that the fourth shirt was wider than the other three.
After having me jump through all these hoops and creating the expectation that they would resolve the issue, Yannie ultimately dismissed the discrepancy by claiming that variations in measurements are normal because the shirts are handmade. She then conveniently fell back on the policy that washed clothing cannot be returned.
So, to recap: They initially told me they would work with me on an exchange, requested multiple rounds of photos and measurements, had me spend time documenting an obvious manufacturing inconsistency, and then ultimately refused to do anything about it.
The most frustrating part isn't even the defective shirt itself. It's the complete disregard for my time as a customer and the lack of transparency throughout the process. If the company had no intention of accommodating an exchange because the shirt had been washed, they should have communicated that from the beginning instead of stringing me along and making me believe they were genuinely interested in resolving the issue.
For a company charging premium prices, the expectation is that customers receive consistent products and customer service that reflects those prices. Instead, this experience gave me the impression that saving a few dollars on a defective product matters more to this company than maintaining customer trust or standing behind the quality of what they sell.
They can market themselves as a company that values its customers, but their actions suggest otherwise. Premium pricing with bargain-bin customer service and absolutely no accountability.
I would strongly reconsider purchasing from this company. There are plenty of businesses willing to take your money; the difference is finding one that actually stands behind its products when something goes wrong.
I ordered two pairs of shoes, and they arrived packed very loosely. There was no filler, tape, or anything else to keep the shoe boxes closed or stop them from sliding around inside the shipping box. Both boxes had come open and shifted during transit, and my new shoes arrived with scratches because of it. For shoes at this price, I expect them to arrive in brand-new condition. Please add packing material or secure the shoe boxes so this doesn't happen to other customers.

Wouldn’t go near this company ordering from Canada. Bought a pair of boots in the size I always get. They were way too big so returning them cost me $55 and was a painful process! They shipped them from Canada and made me return to the US hence the cost. I would have bought lots of clothes from them but in this day and age not having better options even if it’s a standard $10 return or something is absurd

A customer service team member fully supported me through a unique purchase experience I needed and made every accommodation necessary to ensure it went well. Thank you!

Poor service from start to finish. The company reccommended a size. The order took weeks to arrive. When the order arrived the item didn't fit. I was told to return the item via recorded delivery. I challenged the cost of this and they sent me a return form. I returned immediately on 02 Oct. The refund only hit my bank today 29 Oct after numerous chasing. To add insult to injury I have only been partially refunded without any explanation.
MY ADVICE AVOID AT ALL COSTS
So update:
Hi Ciara,
This is Shacara from Thursday Boot Co. I came across your recent Trustpilot review and wanted to personally reach out to see how everything is going and make sure all of your concerns have been fully addressed.
I took a look at your order to understand where the delays happened. Your initial package was delivered in 6 business days, which is within our standard 7 to 10 business day window for international orders. However, I completely understand that the additional wait time to process the return and issue the refund made the entire experience feel much longer than it should have.
I also wanted to provide some context on the partial refund you mentioned. The refunded amount does not include customs duties and taxes, as those are non-refundable fees collected directly by your local customs office rather than by Thursday Boot Co.
I hope this helps clear up the timeline and the refund amount. Please let me know if you have any lingering questions or if there is anything else I can do to help.
Best,
Shacara
My response:
think you need to fact check your response as it includes inaccuracies regarding delivery dates. You also need to be more transparent about your returns & refund policy. In the UK the price paid is the price that should be refunded, tax, duties etc are your responsibility. If you intend to charge these to customers you should be transparent.
So thanks for reaching out in response to a negative review but really you should make sure the details are correct before sending a sorry not sorry response.
Have a nice day!
Product came quick, design of belt was bad. Why is the belt wider than the inside dimension of the buckle? Every time I put it on I have to tug and deal with the friction because the belt is wider than the buckle it goes into... Also, their website makes a it impossible to leave a review.

I have two pairs of Thursday Boots, a pair of Captains and the sneakers in Heritage Cacao. I'm so happy with both of them. Not only are Thursday's products priced fairly, but they are of the highest quality. On top of that, when I had a question, Meg in customer service was so responsive that I ended up feeling really cared for in a way that no modern company has ever made me feel!

I gave it a year to wear these boots before posting a review. I keep trying to like them but I just can’t. They are overpriced junk. I bought the Captains with stormking soles. These boots hurt my feet like crazy. Took 6 months of logging some serious miles just to break them in. They are still not very comfortable. The lining on the outside where the boot meets the sole wore out within a week. And the leather is not very durable. They are also not very water resistant. The slightest puddle and my feet get soaked. A waste of $300

My first pair of Thursday Boot Company's premier low top shoes lasted more than a decade. In fact, I still wear them but the color has faded too much to wear in work settings. My new pair were comfortable from day one. I also own a pair of black, Captain-style boots that similarly have lasted close to 10-years and maintained their shine. They are the first shoe brand I recommend and I believe shoes and mattresses are worth spending money on as you spend more of your life standing in shoes and sleeping on a mattress so treat yourself to high quality. Thursday Boots are high quality.

I'll go with 2 stars because their leather Coat's seem to be holding up OK. But I have a belt that I don't even think is leather, the outside is peeling off and one of the rivets fell out. This is after one year with not much use.

I ordered a pair of the Mary Jane’s for my granddaughter. They were supposed to be delivered, i think, in 7 to 10 days. I received an email saying the shipment was delayed. I forgot about it until i went to look for some sneakers and saw a pair from Thursday Boots and decided to check to see if they had been delivered. I asked my granddaughter and she said no. I went back to the confirmation email and clicked on the Track package” and that is how i found out that the order was cancelled. That is so unprofessional! Won’t order from them again.

Bought the standard size 4 coda boots with the gold buckle on the side. Nowhere in the pictures does it show that the buckle can't be undone because it's sewn in and just for show, meaning there is no way you can loosen the shoes as much as needed. The heel was very narrow but the front was fine, if I had ordered the wide it would have been too big at the front. Tried to return them, don't even bother if you're not in the US already, the boots cost 185 but it was going to cost 72.15 to return from the UK definitely not worth it.

I've had the pleasure of buying a jacket, a pair of shoes and a pair of boots from Thursday and I've been really happy with the products, so not the last products I've bought from them for sure.
My experience with their customer service has been above and beyond what I could expect. They were kind and took my concern seriously and then they were quick to reply and act to solve my issues.
I was hesitant to order at first as I'm located in Denmark, but I don't mind going to the other end of the world for this kind of product and service.

Don't buy there from anywhere outside the us. You WILL regret it. Also the boots are uncomfortable.
All hail to agent orange 🧡

First of all, I haven't got the product yet.
Ordered the product on 13th Oct. Paid for expedited shipping which is an option to my country. This extra money told me I would have my product in 6 business days.
With no dispatch notification in the 16th, I made contact with customer services and they informed me that my country doesnt have expedited shipping (which later in the chat, the agent changed their mind and said I did!!).
So I did not bother arguing the €10 extra for faster shipping and then the agent said yes, typically you should have the order in under a month!!!
No sorry, no anything just thanks for contacting us. A few days ago I receive an email saying there is a delay with my order.
I think from reading customer service reviews, it is a case of just waiting for the product to eventually arrive and it’s just tough. Any back and forth I have seen from the company is purely insubstantial fluff designed to placate.
I am genuinely hoping i love the boots as returning them would be a nightmare from what I have read.
And I have no interest in interacting with customer service who may see this review unless they have something other than an empty “sorry for the delay” message.
It’s the 24th Oct and the product I amall in for approx €330 hasnt even been processed, nevermind dispatched at this stage. Very unprofessional!
** Quick update - funnily enough, the order went to “shipment information received” a few hours after this review went live (which negates my ability to ask for a refund before I receive them.

Didn't fit and when I went to return have found out the cost of returning the item is on me as the customer and that I have to ship back to America (even though they had clearly been shipped from a UK hub). Cost of shipping is half the price of the shoes and clearly done to make returning goods difficult for consumers. Disgusting behaviour

Having worn boots all of my life, both in military and civilian setting, and needing a new pair of dress boots, I got online to find some. Originally looking at Nick's, White's, JK, etc and originally thinking bison / buffalo leather for the unique grain... I stumbled onto the Thursday Challenger boots in their Stone Rambler leather from CF Stead. These looked awesome and checked off the boxes I originally had in my head. PNW style, great unique leather, and lower price end of the scale the above brands exist in. I took note of their sizing recommendation of going 1/2 size smaller, and place the order... anxiously awaiting their arrival. When they did arrive, I happily opened the box, took note of their careful packing and each shoe in their own protective back, and unwrapped them. The new leather smell was amazing, the boots looked awesome and I couldn't wait to slip them on. THIS is where all the positives end, and the headache begins.
The boots are an absolute nightmare to try and slip on. When I say that I have worn just about every boot brand and style out there, custom and off the shelf, there's no exaggeration. That said, I could NOT get my foot past the throat of these boots. I struggled with literally 10 mins, sweat on my body from exertion, and was completely dumbfounded on what I was experiencing. I couldn't even tell if the length or width was correct, because I couldn't get these dang boots on my foot to tell. Defeated, and pissed off, I was resorting to putting them back in the box and printing off a return label. I got online to see if others had this same experience... yes, they had, and recommended trying them on barefoot to get enough room to slide on. Mind you, I wasn't wearing thick socks to begin with. I was wearing camel city wool boot socks (not thick at all). But, hey, it's worth a shot. I took my socks off and attempted again. Another 2-3 minutes of truly FIGHTING these things on, and my foot finally slid past the "choke point" and I'm at last wearing the blasted boots. Once on, there was plenty of room in the boot, and I was finally thinking man I can actually keep these things and hopefully entry will become better with time (and buying a shoe horn might help as well). I wore them unlaced for an hour, inside my house on carpet, and planned to reattempt again the next day.
Next day, I decide to give them another hour indoors to break in again. Knowing what to expect, I say the silent prayer and go back to battle with these things. Equally as difficult, but a shorter war with them and they finally slide onto my foot. Now I'm second guessing if I need to perform this ritual every single time I wear these, and remembering that I can still print that return label. This time I lace them up, and go to walk the house in them.
Instant pain. Lace bite. Pressure points. Torture? Whichever term you want to use. The eyelets on the boot? No problem. The upper lace hooks? Absolute agony. The hardware they use is beefy and top notch. The amount that they (the hooks) stick out of the leather on the foot-side of the leather, however, is also of great measure. The lack of padding on the already thin leather tongue further compounds this issue. Greatly. Every step was a reminder that the metal hardware was pressing into your skin and ankle. Every. Single. Step. I quickly, and finally said F' this and unlaced them and pulled them off (the last physical battle).
As much as I loved the look of these boots, and truly loved this style and wanted to keep them, there's just absolutely NO WAY to be comfortable in these things. Especially trying to make concessions at the already $349 price point. Could I try to get some leather and sew strips over the inside area where the hooks are? I guess. Could I take them to a cobbler and pay even more money to have them alter it, or possibly replace the hooks with eyelets (like the boot should have had to begin with)? Sure. But why spend even more money altering a boot -- which might not solve the issue -- and then be unable to return it? No thanks.
So, return label printed, boxed back up, and sent on the way back to Thursday boots. Does the saga end there? Nope. Their refund policy can take up to 15 business days. That's half a month of waiting for the $349+ back, so that I can find a different pair of boots since their design and fit is God awful.
Lesson learned. At 48 years of age, I should really invest more belief in the "you get what you pay for" old adage. There's a huge difference in boots at the bottom end of a scale, even marketed as high end, and the actual high end boots. It comes with an increased premium price, but you get the comfort and quality you expect -- and usually can customize the hardware and features.
Save yourself the trouble, time, and effort and skip the Thursday boots.
