No broadband for more than a week
Tell us more about your experience
Want a tip?
No broadband for more than a week. No explanation and no compensation other than a promise to knock a tiny amount off my next bill. Earliest date offered for a technician to do repairs was Wednesday (5 days after collapse of service) or today. Technician who was supposed to come this morning never arrived. No response from customer service to my email asking what was happening and impossible to get through to them by phone. The company must surely be the worst broadband provider in Ireland. Will provide an update in due course.
Terrible
Terrible
Chat bots are infuriating.
Terrible communication with third party services.
Awful service overall
Terrible Move Home Experience
I informed Virgin Media about my house move more than 14 days in advance, as requested. Despite this, they scheduled my installation appointment for 20 days later.
On the installation day, the technician called me at around 10:00 AM and said he would arrive within an hour. My partner stayed home all day waiting, but nobody arrived and we received no update, phone call, or explanation.
Around 2:00 PM, I contacted Virgin Media and was given the number of the installation company. When I called them, they told me they would try to find someone. After waiting 30–40 minutes without hearing back, I called again and was then told that Virgin Media had provided them with the wrong address.
This was clearly not my mistake. I explained that I urgently needed internet access and asked them to find a solution. Instead of helping, the representative became dismissive and eventually hung up on me.
I then contacted Virgin Media again and was told that the installation could not be completed that day and that the next available appointment would be 3–4 days later. After already waiting 20 days for this appointment, that response was completely unacceptable.
I even requested to cancel my contract without paying a cancellation fee because the failure was entirely on Virgin Media’s side, but I was told I would still be charged.
The most unbelievable part is that around 30 minutes later, the technician who was supposed to arrive in the morning suddenly called asking whether I still wanted the installation and then showed up and completed the work.
The lack of communication, incorrect information, being left waiting all day, having to chase multiple departments myself, and being hung up on by customer service made this one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.
Virgin Media seriously needs to improve communication between its teams and show more respect for its customers.
Superb Staff
The staff in the store in Stephen's Green were a delight. Thanks so much to Charlie, Adam and Karen who were knowlegable, personable and had superb customer service skills. They made a very stressful situation, replacing a stolen phone, a wonderful experience.
Appauling customer service or lack thereof!
April 2026 - I renewed my broadband contract with Virgin Media for another year.
May 22 - I went to Canada for work and while in Canada, I let them know I was moving my Dublin address as of June 15.
May 22 8pm - Virgin sent me an email May 22 to confirm the move, and somehow disconnected my internet at my current Dublin address as my google home products in Dublin all went offline at the exact same time they processed the move.
June 2 - I confirmed this when I returned to Dublin. I spent several hours on the phone with various departments (tech support, moving and cancellations) and they all said I needed a technician to come out to fix the issue as it was a modem issue and nothing to do with the move and I had to wait a week for tech visit as the oniy date available was June 9.
June 9 - I booked off work and the tech came. He called in to head office to let them know the modem was working fine but there was no feed and they told him to have me (the customer) call in again to activate. Complete waste of time on my part waiting a week and then this result.
I called in and the first tech agent said it would take a few hours as the ‘back room’ had to turn on the feed.
I waited 6 hours and called in and spoke to a second agent who informed me it can take 2 days.
I decided to close my account. They hit me with a €150 cancellation fee and stated that they followed all protocols and did everything they could to fix the issue but never admitted they initiated the failure.
This entire mess was Vigin Medias fault. They sent me through a long song and dance scenario, gave conflicting information at every turn, and left me without internet for 3 weeks. Merely offering to credit my account for the days the interest was turned off. Other than the tech people trying to fix the situation, no one from Moving, Sales or Cancelations ever apologized.
I will now let anyone I know just how bad Virgin Media customer service is. They clearly don’t care about customers as reflected in their other online review. I will no longer give my hard earned money to a supplier that misleads, gouges and clearly doesn't value its customers and I can instead stand on my principles and know I did the right thing by parting ways. Terrible company and I do not recommend! Stay clear!
All my parcels dissappear
All my parcels dissappear in space . Long waiting time mostly not effecting. Not delivered on correct address. No phone call from couriers.
Fake lazy arrogant company.
Absolutely terrible
Absolutely terrible. We have no internet connection after the switching cables in our apartment block sincr June 2025 but we are still charged for non-existing service. I have contacted customer services numerous times, only empty promises, absolutely incapable customer service. So we have no connection for 10 months and they have nerves to keep charging us over 70 euros per month. I would not recommend this company to my worse enemy.
What’s not to like?
Easy upgrade modem and to 1Gb conversion with helpful staff. New modem arrived on time. Easy no brainer connection steps. Just made one silly error and phoned for help. Quick response from Virgin and the guy spotted my glitch. All sorted tickety boo. TP link now takes 5g. TV connection strong and nifty. Looks like the printer likes the modem too which the old version 3 modem did not. Stress free job. Hope others are fortunate enough to get similar experiences.
There should be option for 0 stars
There should be option for 0 stars , I been with these Parasites too long unfortunately changing from them would cause a lot more problems for me but today just took the biscuit , I have Tv and so called broadband an house phone off these , seeing my bill is going up at end of May I rang to just get the phone just cut from my long drawn out package you would think simple enough yes that’s a no , I need a new package plus equipment for this new package which would include someone at my expense coming out to fit it all thanks for that . The equipment I have is doing its job Tv box puts pictures on the Tv the broadband well anyone that has broadband with these knows what it’s like dragging your face across glass . Don’t bother with ccpc as if it’s not a high class person been screwed over then it’s the classic lines companies need more money for the Xmas parties and it’s in the contract to say they can . Look in short run screaming from anyone connected with these parasites asking if you would like your life so messed up by these and you have the pleasure to pay them for it as well .
VirginMedia are highway robbers
We had 1 year of perfect broadband until 7 match ! Then came the time to move to avoid massive price hike so we picked an alternative. The new vendor exactly 30 days cancelled and transferred our fibre optic line to themselves. Everything working we were delighted then 7 april came! We for got 2 bills! new vendor and Vrigin media sent an bill that they cannot provide service ! Claiming their service had not be cancelled.
Update. Viginmedia are now pressuring us to pay not only the bills above but for the following month as well and threatening surcharges!!! Just to remind you they cut the service off as the new vendor took over. Surely its aginst some law to charge for services that you cannot provide!
No broadband or tv for 5+ days
No broadband or tv for 5 days. Numerous calls, hours waiting on hold, and each time a promise that it'll be fixed soon.
Virgin is cheap, so are it's products and service.

Customer service is a joke, guy arranged for someone to come to connect tv etc, specifically told me monday, waited in all day,no show, when i reported it i was told oh sorry he meant tues, its just not good enough...had taken the day off work, now i wont be able to be connected for another week! Absolute disgrace. Not even worth one star.
Our TV service is way below par.
Our TV service started giving trouble. Some channels don’t show or even load. Even RTE Player was giving trouble. I realised something was wrong and called Virgin Media. In fairness they came out promptly. The technician worked it out and found the line outside our house was deficient. So the signal going into to our place was below par. He said a new line bypass could be put in and then said this was on order for us. But that was the end of it: Virgin never appeared again.
Getting back on the phone I had to go through the same rigmarole – go to the TV, reset the VM box and read out what error messages were visible – just to get them to admit all over again that “Oh there is a problem with the signal to your house”. Eventually this second time – after nearly 30 min on the phone, the person from VM I was talking to told me “I’ve upgraded your service problem that should do now, they’ll be out to you soon.” Not a chance. No one came from Virgin Media again. I spent another 40 min on the phone this evening and didn’t even get through. Crazy.
Terrible service. Shocking that a company that is charging so much - €107 per month – can’t even do the basics, like treat their customers properly. Will be investigating a new supplier/service tomorrow. My advice to anyone, steer clear of Virgin Meida. All show but not there when you really need help.
Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs. TV not working for 8 weeks, hours spent on calls to support, 10 different agents telling me the issue is fixed. Engineer booked to come out, took the day off work for it and he never showed. Now they have no appointments for the foreseeable. Can’t wait for this contract to be over.

Virgin upgraded the lines on my road a number of months ago . They left a wire hanging over a bedroom window . If open the window the wire will rip out . I have contacted them and nothing has been fixed .

I rang customer services and spoke with a lovely member of staff by the name of Alana who was very helpful in helping me set up my virgin media online account as I have tried several times to no avail with other members of staff what Alana went above and beyond to make sure I have the account settle up and I was able to use it myself so helpful and friendly and stayed with me on the phone every step of the way to make sure it was up, I’m running properly for me thank you so much

I'm paying for multi room TV only 1 box working about 5months very hard to get in contact with waiting over half an hour for someone to answer and were supposed to ring me back 3 day's ago.
Modem unreliable service cuts out all the time.
So far 2 weeks in and on my second modem, its cuts in and out, wifi on modem doesnt work. 2nd modem doesnt even connect. I work from home so will probably have to swap back to vodafone and pay penalties. The €10 a month saving was definitely not woth it, now ill be charged to get out of the contract.
Run by absolute Idiots
If everything works Its fine, but all It takes Is one thing to mess up and they’ll completely feck you over. They say they’ll send someone out to fix something In a few days no matter how Important that thing Is, and then they say Its not for another week, then 2 weeks. They’re real cute with how they treat you always trying to avoid the actual problem. A lot of passive aggression too, dont go with them unless you literally have no other broadband to go with or If you have a shitload of time and money to waste. Unbelievably
