Very costumizable
Very costumizable. Many different hours for the classes are available, there are tons of tutors for so many languages and also various price options. The UI is clean and stable. Would reccomend for anyone who wants to learn any language!

I received an italki gift card from my…
I received an italki gift card from my son for Father's Day 2025. Attachment said it expired 09.06.2026. I tried to use it on 9/3/2026 and it was invalid. After wasting much chat support time, it turns out they they used the European date format which makes the expiration June 6. They would not budge on extending or reissuing the card and refused to provide access to a supervisor. They told me my son would have pursue the matter. They refused to tell me how this might remedy the problem as opposed just waste his time. Also wouldn't provide a phone number for him to call to avoid wasting time.
I would avoid getting involved with this company.

Quentin is a remarkable teacher
Quentin is a remarkable teacher. Even as a beginning French student he gently pushes me to speak in French and guides me to correct pronunciation and phrasing. I am amazed at the progress that I have made and the confidence I have gained in just a few short weeks.

The new Website is still crap and has a bad user expierence. I would never find a teacher at the beginning if that website was so terrible in the past.
In my opinion are also the fees for the teachers too high, which result in high costs to get a teacher.
The teachers are individuals / freelancers therefore i don't rate them here (but all techers i had were very good).

Great conversations with Ami-sensei.
Ami-sensei has been great. I'm not always the best at being able to continue a conversation in English let alone a language I'm trying to learn and she has always made the conversations feel effortless. My Japanese speaking ability is not the greatest and she has been very helpful with corrections when appropriate, while also allowing the conversation to move along without constantly stopping to correct me.

Seriously great platform for finding language tutors. I've been using italki for a few months now, and it’s been awesome. Yang Yang is teaching my 5 year old daughter since around 6 months. She is a kind and professional teacher, who knows how to keep the attention of the kid. At some point my daughter didn't want to continue the class, Yang Yang was flexible to find the themes, that my daughter was excited about and let her lead in choosing the topics for a while. Yang Yang structures the clas, she is playful and focused. Now the lesson is always an excitement. Highly recommend!
