Holger Danske Moving were absolutely superb. Stinus, Nick, Esben and Malte were incredibly quick and efficient, yet at the same time so gentle and careful with all our stuff.

What really stood out was the whole experience — great communication, fantastic customer service, and a brilliant sense of humour throughout the move. They made what could have been a stressful day feel easy and genuinely enjoyable.

Professional, fast, careful and just a great group of guys.

They are the kings. 👑 Would recommend them without hesitation!

My experience with Holger Danske Flytteforretning A/S was disappointing and frustrating.

The booking was confirmed over email, but critical terms — including cancellation fees — were never clearly disclosed or explained. Despite this, when I had to cancel, the company imposed a substantial cancellation charge and even added interest while the amount was being disputed.

They later relied on general terms that were not properly brought to my attention at the time of agreement. This raises serious concerns about transparency and fairness, especially in a consumer context.

The dispute process did not feel balanced, and there was little willingness to acknowledge the lack of clarity in the original communication.

I would strongly advise anyone considering this company to:

Request clear written terms upfront
Specifically confirm cancellation and penalty clauses
Ensure you fully understand what you are agreeing to

A service like moving requires trust — unfortunately, that was not my experience here. As you can see from their response, their bias and conduct left much to be desired. Do not use this company.

Bookingen blev bekræftet via e-mail, men kritiske vilkår – herunder afbestillingsgebyrer – blev aldrig tydeligt oplyst eller forklaret. På trods af dette, da jeg måtte afbestille, pålagde virksomheden et betydeligt afbestillingsgebyr og endda tilførte renter, mens beløbet blev bestridt.

De støttede sig senere på generelle vilkår, som ikke var blevet korrekt bragt til min opmærksomhed på tidspunktet for aftalen. Dette rejser alvorlig bekymring om gennemsigtighed og retfærdighed, især i en forbrugersammenhæng.

My moving experience (in chronological order):

1. I booked moving with packing, plus handyman service for dismantling and reassembling a sofa and child’s bed – at an hourly rate – for 25.2.2026. This was after detailed information exchanges with the salesperson, both in English (with me) and Danish (with my boyfriend).

2. Two movers came. The handyman was a no-show. No explanation. Two hours later a third mover – not handyman – showed up.

3. Unprofessionalism: The movers forgot to bring labels for the boxes, and left the boxes unlabeled; Several times they left things behind in cupboards or forgot to pack whole areas; They left behind litter of empty cans and bottles, and torn cartons outside the building; They took 6 hours to pack and move a 2-room 60m2 apartment.

4. Packing damage: Items were carelessly thrown into the boxes: A plant spilled in the carton. Shoes were placed on clean bedsheets. Cutlery was spilled into the carton. They scratched the tv instead of moving it in the original package. A framed puzzle was lost.

5. Dismantling damage: The movers dismantled the bed despite being unqualified. They cracked the bed. They left behind screws which I had to collect.

6. Reassembling mess: The movers couldn’t figure out how to assemble the sofa and ignored the Ikea instructions. I had to do it with them. (The sofa was not assembled properly, my boyfriend and I had to redo it afterwards.) The movers informed the office at HD that a handyman is needed to assemble the bed.

7. The next day no one contacted me from HD. My boyfriend called to report the situation and was promised that the Claims Manager would call me. At the same time I wrote an email detailing what happened. I attached pictures of: the bed, the tv, the litter of torn cartons, the left-behind screws, the badly packed cartons.

8. The day after sending the email a handyman called me- “I’m at the door”, with no prior coordination. Two handymen (instead of one) fixed the bed. The Claims Manager didn’t call me either that day or the next, only the week after.

9. The Claims Manager did not apologize, and did not accept responsibility. I said I should not have to pay for the third person – he was not a handyman, and our agreement was for 2 movers, nor should I have to pay for the hours spent on the botched dismantling & reassembling. I said I should only have to pay for the moving hours and the actual handyman, minus compensation for damages. The Claims Manager refused.

10. I followed up with an email, detailing the calculation that I described. I added: “By all right, Holger Danske should have apologized profusely and offered to invoice me for the bare minimum sum - if anything at all - in order to maintain its reputation and prove to the world that this was a one-time anomaly rather than a reflection of Holger Danske's typical service.”

11. On 27.3.2026 I received an invoice as follows:

Flytning ved 2 mand samling af seng 2 timer

12. HD invoiced for all of the hours. This also means I’m being triple-charged for dismantling and reassembling furniture. First charge: work done by non-handymen, who took longer than necessary because they didn’t know what they were doing, and who damaged my bed, didn’t reassemble it, and didn’t properly assemble the sofa. Second charge: assembling the bed the next day. Third charge: Two handymen instead of the one agreed upon.

13. HD included in the 2 handymen’s fee an extra 1 hour for transportation – I shouldn’t have to pay for extra transportation for not showing up on the moving day.

14. The payment date on the invoice: 30.3.2026 – 3 days after it was issued.

15. The same day I emailed the Direktør to say I disagree with the invoice, and asked him to call me so we can reach a reasonable agreement. No reply.

16. On 13.4.2026 I complained to The Danish Mediation Team for Consumer Complaints.

Adding my response to HD's below reply:
- We were told that the Claims Manager is in a meeting and will call the next day.
- The movers themselves told me they are not handymen and not qualified to do the work. They expressed frustration over being in an impossible situation, and said to me when they gave up, “We’re very sorry, but we are not handymen and don’t know how to do this.”
- This is the first I am hearing of a 4000 kr. reduction. In effect this comes to 2 hours (2000x2). In the invoice you charge for 16 hours of work for packing and moving a 60m2 apartment, and handyman for an Ikea sofa & bed. This is not only unacceptable it is embarrassing. And this is before even accounting for the shoddy service and (no) compensation for damages.
- Extra transportation: The handymen who came 2 days later spent maybe half an hour on assembling the bed, yet you charged for 2 hours.
- Ignoring the major points in my review speaks volumes.

We needed to change our moving date as we got the keys to our new home with a bit of delay. They have been very flexible on that matter. They have all the expertise to facilitate your move. We used a lift as we moved from the 4th floor, which made the move much more effective. A particular recognition to Konrad, William and Spur who have gone an extra mile.

Perfect :) From the initial visit to check the volume of furnitures etc., to the great job by Simon and Loke on moving day, communication was great and everything went well. Quick, well executed, good mood - very glad with Holger Danske once again !

Dear Holger Danske:
I meant to post this review a lot sooner. I regret the delay because you guys were so fantastic and helpful and I am deeply thankful for the speedy and kind assistance I received from the moment I got in touch with you to schedule the move till the moment the empty boxes were collected.
To make a long story short, I live in the US, my mom lives in DK and I had to help her wrap up her regular life so that she could move into a senior home. The timeline to do this was so much sooner than expected, there were so many things to take care of, so it was a bit stressful. Selecting a moving company was part of that stress; I reached out to several while still in the US and everyone seemed to take their sweet time responding - except Holger Danske. They responded promptly and with understanding, which was such a relief. Packing and downsizing for my mom was really hard, there were some hiccups in the process - all on my part, but Team Holger Danske was there with patience & sensible suggestions to address them, so it all made for a great experience, yay! If I ever have to do this again, or recommend a moving company, it'll be you guys. A special shout-out to Julie, Alex, Matti, Simon, & Bertram. Thank you so, so much!

Very happy with the service that we received from Holger Danske. It was a tough job as the team had to move our things up lots of flights of stairs. But would thoroughly recommend our team who worked super hard - Thor, Martin & Mohamed.

Extremely good experience with moving from Odense to Copenhagen. All communication happened via email, and a fixed price was agreed within a day.
