Leaking Tent and Very Poor Customer Service
I bought a 4m Bell tent for the kids to use & enjoy with their friends over the summer holidays.
As we know, we’ve had a very dry summer. However, as the rains began to fall over the last couple of weeks, we were greeted with a LOT of water in our new tent. I quickly pinpointed the area of water access to excessively sized needle holes around the stitching on the lower portion of the tent. I mistakenly believed customer services would offer some support given the tent was only a few weeks old.
However, a Senior Customer Service Advisor, couldn’t seem to see (on the pic I sent) the large holes where water was happily penetrating, so I can only presume the Senior in his title is applicable to age, and his eye sight is not what it once was.
He also asked me to take a picture of the tent whilst pitched, after I had taken it down, so he may also have knowledge of time travel, but was not willing to share the methodology with me, so I sadly could not oblige.
All in all, £300 has gone to waste on a tent only suitable for pitching indoors, or for people who enjoy sleeping in puddles.

I’m sorry to read your review, but I do need to clarify a number of points, particularly regarding the service you received from our Customer Care team.
We stand behind every one of our products, so no, you have not simply “wasted £300”. If there is a genuine manufacturing issue with your tent, we will work with you to resolve it.
Our Customer Care team are very experienced and receive hands-on product training. They know our tents and how they should be correctly pitched and set up. This is precisely why you were asked to provide photographs of the tent while it was pitched.
When we investigate reports of water ingress, in the majority of cases we find that the cause is related to the tent not being set up or pitched correctly, rather than a fault with the tent itself. For example, if the canvas is not correctly tensioned or areas are allowed to sag, water can collect and potentially enter through areas where it would not when the tent is correctly pitched.
This is why seeing photographs of the complete tent while erected is an important part of our investigation. It does not mean we are assuming this is the cause in your particular case; we simply need to rule out the most common cause before determining whether there is a manufacturing issue.
We appreciate that you had already taken the tent down, but our Customer Care team were following the appropriate process to establish the cause of the problem. Asking for a photograph of the tent correctly pitched was part of that investigation, not a refusal to assist you.
I also find the personal comments directed towards a member of our team unnecessary and unacceptable. Our advisor was simply carrying out their role and trying to investigate your complaint. We welcome feedback about our products and service, whether positive or negative, but personal insults directed towards members of our team are not appropriate.
I will now personally review all of the information and photographs you have provided, together with the correspondence you have had with our Customer Care team, and I will come back to you directly once I have completed my review.
If there is a manufacturing defect with the tent, we will stand behind our product and resolve it.

I had some queries on tent features and details so contacted the help team. Received a response super quick, answering all my queries.
A few emails later, I placed my order. The team processed it and I had received the tent on a Saturday, in less than 22h from ordering. I had it up that afternoon, and it was so much better than expected.
I put it up on my own, but it’s obviously easier with 2 people.
I’ve used it since in a couple of countries, including once in heavy rain over 3 days in Ireland. It performed excellently, inside stayed bone dry, and the family had a great time despite the weather.
We got the 5m Star Bell, and the awning/ 1m covered entrance area is definitely a great feature, especially in the rain or intense sun. For example I used it to cook breakfast and make tea on a gas camping stove on rainy mornings.
In summary, excellent tent, excellent service, excellent communication and excellent turnaround time. Couldn’t be happier. Thanks BC.

The QUICK delivery was great
The QUICK delivery was great. I needed the tent for overflow guests and it was perfect. Being able to stand up in it made a big difference. I outfitted it with a comfy bed, cozy rugs and pillows, it was a huge hit with our guests. Its just so cool. The video instructions on set up were super helpful.

Excellent quality, quick delivery.
Ordered late Tuesday night, arrived on Thursday morning. Tent is very well presented in attractive bag with a mallet, spare pegs and repair patches. The tent was easy to erect and has withstood high winds and torrentisl rain!

Bought the tent on-line, it arrived the next day. I had forgotten to use the discount code at checkout, they honoured it immediately when I phoned to explain. The delivery company missed one package, Boutique camping answered the phone straightaway and without hesitating arranged to send a replacement to arrive the following day. Most importantly the tent is excellent, good quality, easy to erect. Exactly what you want from an online purchase.

Great product and service.
Ordered one of the 4m polycotton tents and it arrived within a few days. The product is well made, stitches seams and pegs etc are all top quality. We don't have need for another tent but if we did we'd not hesitate to order from Boutique camping!

Great tent too -we put it to the test with torrential rain and it remained leakproof, except where we’d accidentally left a ventilation window open overnight. We also had some really hot sunny weather and it is a tiny bit hotter than our old canvas tent, but the ventilation windows worked well and cooled it down.
It was easy to put up as well, it took approximately 20 mins.
The blackout inner tent was great too, except that you can’t quite fit four adult sized people inside the inner tent in a four person Bell tent.
