Most useless gym in Essex , machines always broke and out of service changing rooms constantly smell like drains , jacuzzi out of service every other day . Pools closed today with no notice , I know at least ten members all cancelling due to 80 pound a month for this s*** and I’ll be following .. place needs knocking down tbh .. don’t waste your time
I won a raffle at a charity event with a friend and we both found ourselves at Bannatyne spa yesterday for a triple 'treatment' session, along with use of the sauna, steam room etc. What a treat! I'd been boxing in the morning and Kade, who was tasked with doing a mini-back massage, basically worked out the knots and made my shoulders feel fantastic, along with getting rid of the tightness in my lower back. I am now a massage convert! The staff were helpful, relaxed and lovely. The changing rooms were clean and the lockers used a small electronic bracelet mechanism, avoiding pound coins or pesky keys. It was a lovely experience and great to share the afternoon with a friend. Thank you Kade, thank you to staff at Bannatyne Cardiff.
I've contacted costumer service almost a month ago about a dispute canceling a membership. No answer! They are still debiting my card.
Very very hard to cancel membership.
Long standing member Belfast which has gone massively down hill. The pool has turned into a ‘bro’ cold plunge pool where they take over the steps and think it’s ok to just sit there. It’s an emergency exit hazard and despite multiple emails and convos nothing is done about it. all they care about is more people. Also prices up from October.
Me, my 2 daughters, sister and 3 nieces celebrated my 60th birthday with you guys last Saturday 22.08.26 and I had a full body scrub and a back, shoulder and head massage. The masseuse who gave me my massage is called Emma. She was a lovely lady and made me feel comfortable. I misplaced my wristband and she went above and beyond to help me find it, which she did in the end. Thank you Emma for a lovely relaxing morning.

Discussing cleanliness. Especially in the women’s changing rooms there was a woodlice crawling in the mouldy showers.A fat bug next to the dirty drains, Mouldy showers, mouldy soap dispensers, the walls covered in hair, mouldy vents. In one of the changing lockers there’s a fly in them, broken benches.NEW CLEANERS ARE VERY MUCH NEEDED 🤢

⚠️ *** update for the response from Ballantyne. I have received an email from the same person Ryan saying they cannot help me because of GDPR as the booking was in my friend’s name. They expect me to get my friend who is super super busy to raise this as an enquiry. Absolutely ridiculous customer support. There is no customer support. Don’t let this spa take your money and please check your bank account because I only noticed this payment had been taken by accident.
Original feedback:
Check your bank statement after visiting Bannatyne Bristol
* Paid £5 locker deposit and was told it was a pre-authorisation that would automatically be released when I returned the key.
* Three days later, £5 was taken from my bank account.
* I’ve provided Bannatyne with my bank statement as proof.
* Despite 3–4 different people saying they’ll investigate, it still hasn’t been resolved.
I only noticed it because I happened to be checking my account for another payment. Please check your own statements after visiting.
It’s not the £5 — it’s the principle and the lack of customer service in resolving it.

I was at the club for 3 year and no one ever came to me to ask me if I am doing good or if I need any help,
They said glass and smart phones is forbidden in the pool area but staff
And most of the people using them and taking videos.
Faceless company that doesn’t care about you.
Support genuine local businesses that really care about you👌👍

The Ashford club is showing serious signs of needing a renovation. Definitely not worth the £60 a month fee anymore. Pool area is old and scale ridden, inside building looks dated and worn and the outside signage is missing letters. Overall, not a good look for what is considered a mid-premium gym membership facility. Staff are helpful and friendly though.

Yes, nice cool place to be. Very surprised how many people don’t bother to wipe down equipment. Selfish!

Hi
Terrible disappointment. Arranged a celebration family visit 4 adults. Evening visit . Spa closed at 7.30 although we were asked to vacate the area at 7.15pm . We were guided to use the pool area. There were over 25 people herded into this area plus the ladies taking a fitness class in the pool. This meant everyone else had use of the steam rooms, sauna or spa pool. Leaving us to feel uncomfortable and totally restricted. We couldn’t even sit the reception area. When we left at about 7.50pm the had to leave by the back door. Not important enough to leave via the front door.
The building itself is in need of restoration . The outside needs attention as photos show. Such a beautiful building.
The reception area had peeling paint on the ceiling and leather sofa with no leather as seen in photos.
The stairs were dirty with worn carpet see photos. There is also evidence that there had been a leak and cracks in the ceiling . Holes at edge of stair too.
The whole building was dirty and in need of painting.
There are some fantastic wooden features which appear to have been neglected for a considerable time and require attention.
A very disappointed customer

Very disappointing experience with Bannatyne.
My partner and I joined Bannatyne on what we understood to be a 3-month membership. After the three months ended, we were surprised to discover that Bannatyne continued taking monthly payments from our accounts.
We were not made sufficiently aware that the membership would automatically continue and that we would need to give a month’s notice to cancel. We have now been charged for a further month despite not using the gym at all.
Trying to contact Bannatyne and find clear information about how to cancel has also been extremely difficult. The whole process has been frustrating and feels unnecessarily complicated.
I understand that there may be terms and conditions regarding cancellation, but customers should be given clear and transparent information about what happens when a 3-month membership ends and how to cancel it.
We are very unhappy with the experience and feel we have paid for a service we are no longer using simply because the cancellation process was not clear to us.
Very disappointing customer service and transparency. I would think carefully before joining.

Had an issue with a groupon voucher and customer care could not have been more helpful
They re-instated an incorrectly allocated Voucher

Would love to have given this 5 stars.
The spa was great, the hotel was amazing, food was good and the staff were all friendly and helpful.
However, they need to update there list of medical conditions needing doctors notes.
My partner booked this for us for our anniversary and booked us both Swedish back massages as part of this. My partner suffers from FND and this is not listed on the health conditions needing doctors notes, so felt all was good
We were sent a check in and health questionnaire 3 days before we were due to go. My partner then got an email back saying she would need a doctors note to allow her to proceed the massage. Doctors notes take weeks to get! We pointed out the short window and this is not listed on conditions needing one but refused to budge. Then told us all she could have was either manicure or pedicure. These are both half the price of the massage that we paid for!
Obviously we didn’t want to go out of pocket, they did offer a “exfoliate and rejuvenate” which consisted of leg massages…so what’s the issue?
If FND is a concern for bannatyne, maybe update your health condition list and also maybe request health condition information on the booking!
