I'm extremely disappointed with my experience with Appliance City and, in particular, the way my faulty installation has been handled.
In April, my washing machine was delivered and installed by a contractor arranged by Appliance City, but the installation was incorrect.
In May, a Haier engineer inspected the machine and confirmed that the faults I was experiencing were caused by poor and incomplete installation. He also identified damage to the machine caused during the installation. The clasp holding the waste pipe had snapped. At the time, I was told this damage may or may not cause problems in the future.
Unfortunately, it did. In June, I contacted Appliance City to explain that the waste pipe could no longer be secured properly and was coming loose during washes, causing dirty water to flood my home after every wash. I requested that the machine either be repaired or replaced and that I receive a refund for the faulty installation.
Initially, I received regular communication from Maddy while they tried to resolve the issue, although I was also told that the repair could not progress because an invoice relating to the original Haier repair had not been paid (it was chargeable as the fault related to an installation error). They stated they would get this paid so that Haier could arrange a repair.
Then, at the beginning of August,
communication completely stopped without a resolution.
I called on 20 August and was told the matter had been escalated to a manager, who would call me back the following day to discuss a resolution. That call never happened. I have since emailed again and have received no response.
It has now been over 10 weeks since I have been able to use my washing machine, because doing so risks flooding my home with dirty water and causing further property damage.
I am incredibly frustrated that something which should have been a straightforward installation and after-sales issue has been allowed to drag on for months. I am now restoring this review in the hope that it finally prompts Appliance City to take responsibility, provide a resolution, and allow me to use my washing machine without risking more damage to my home.
Easy to deal with, good bundle price and all delivered on time.
Special mention for the delivery guys..

Good customer service. I had to return the item but it was quite complicated and I had to chase the refund but it was all good in the end.

I ordered a Samsung heating draw which arrived on time. However, it was clear that the appliance was previously used and installed as it had been damaged. Given I had already hired an electrician, I could not return the product without incurring additional costs on my side. As a customer, I fully expect to receive a NEW product when I order, not a second hand, damaged product.

Good price on the Samsung induction hob. Arrived in good condition during the time period that was specified. Could not ask for more.

I found Appliance city was very professional and helpful, plus they were cheaper than anyone else. Great delivery time, and they removed the old appliance for a small cost.

Amazing service. Got a great discount by buying as a bundle. Accidentally ordered the wrong item in error and it was swapped within a few days. Will definitely use them again and have already recommended to friends and family.

Damaged Smeg cooker delivered and still no replacement two weeks later.
We ordered a Smeg cooker from Appliance City, which was delivered on 14th August.
When it arrived, the packaging at the back was visibly damaged and the wooden supports were actually snapped in half. The delivery driver noticed the damage, took photographs at the time and uploaded them to Appliance City’s system, so they have had photographic evidence of the condition it arrived in from day one.
Although the cooker initially appeared okay, once we had it in position and checked it properly, we noticed that the bottom drawer was protruding on the right-hand side while sitting flush on the left.
We contacted Appliance City and were told we needed to contact Smeg. Smeg then sent an engineer out, who inspected the cooker and told us that it had been physically damaged and that the chassis had been bent, which is why the drawer will not sit correctly. Smeg then told us that, because the cooker had been supplied damaged, this needed to be dealt with by the retailer.
Since then, dealing with Appliance City has been extremely frustrating. We have repeatedly been told they are waiting for the Smeg engineer’s report and that somebody will call us back within an hour. Those calls have not happened, leaving us to keep chasing them ourselves.
It is now 28th August, two weeks after the cooker was delivered, and we are still no clearer as to when this damaged appliance is going to be replaced. We have now reached the Bank Holiday weekend, so the situation is going to drag on even longer.
What makes this particularly frustrating is that Appliance City already have the delivery driver’s photographs showing the damaged packaging and snapped wooden supports, and a Smeg engineer has now confirmed that the cooker itself has suffered physical damage.
Our contract is with Appliance City. We bought a brand-new cooker from them and it was delivered damaged. We should not have to spend two weeks repeatedly chasing for a resolution while being told that Appliance City is waiting for Smeg.
A very disappointing experience. We simply want the damaged cooker replaced with the undamaged new appliance that we paid for.

We had an American fridge freezer installed to the first floor. The delivery guys removed the old and installed the new despite the difficulty of getting up a flight of steps and the weight. The guys had a really positive can do attitude. Highly recommend.
