Shuttle more than 15 min late, no info.

I was supposed to take the shuttle from Aurland to Flåm to catch the Flåmbana. However the bus was more than 15 min late causing me to almost miss the train. No information shared or anything regarding the
Lateness of the shuttle. Luckily the was a regional bus that i could take instead. Reginal bus was MUCH cheaper and more frequent. Hence, don't book the shuttle, the reginal bus is much more reliable.

Ruined itinerary due to boat delay and zero flexibility from customer service

We booked the 2-hour Fjord Cruise Nærøyfjord from Flåm to Gudvangen on August 14th (12:00 PM departure), combined with tickets for Viking Valley and a return shuttle bus to Flåm at 3:15 PM.Unfortunately, the boat was severely delayed and did not depart until 12:30 PM. As a result, we were only able to disembark in Gudvangen at 2:40 PM. Since we had to check in for our return shuttle bus 15 minutes before departure (by 3:00 PM), this left us with less than 20 minutes in Gudvangen. Visiting Viking Valley—which includes a 45-minute guided tour—was completely impossible. The delay was entirely the company's fault, yet customer service completely refused to issue a refund for the Viking Valley tickets we could not use. They blindly hid behind their standard terms and conditions. Hiding behind these terms during unforeseen circumstances caused by their own logistical failure is highly unprofessional and unfair. Very poor customer service. Avoid booking combined tickets with them!

Disappointing customer service

I am extremely disappointed with Norway’s Best.

I booked an excursion for my family months in advance, but our cruise was unable to dock in Flåm last week due to bad weather. As cruise passengers, we had no way of reaching Flåm, so the excursion could not take place.

Despite this, Norway’s Best refused to offer any refund, credit, or goodwill gesture, and simply referred me to their terms and conditions and travel insurance.

The lack of empathy and flexibility was very disappointing. I would not book with Norway’s Best again and would advise cruise passengers to think carefully before booking directly with them.

No refund, no goodwill, no empathy

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Norway's Best.

I booked excursions for my family months in advance for our visit to Flåm during on 29 July 2026. Unfortunately, our cruise was unable to call at Flåm due to adverse weather conditions.

I fully understand that the weather was beyond Norway's Best's control. My disappointment is not because the port was cancelled, but because of how Norway's Best handled the situation afterwards.

As cruise passengers, we had absolutely no way of reaching Flåm once the port call was cancelled. The excursion could never take place, yet Norway's Best refused to offer any refund, credit, or goodwill gesture. Instead, they simply referred me to their terms and conditions and recommended contacting our travel insurance, and then closed the matter.

What made the experience even worse was the tone of their response. After refusing any form of assistance or goodwill, the email ended with the words "Have a nice day." Given the circumstances, this came across as dismissive and insensitive. I had just lost the opportunity to take an excursion I had planned and paid for months in advance, and ending the correspondence in this way made me feel that my concerns were not taken seriously.

Good customer service is not just about following terms and conditions; it is also about showing empathy. A simple acknowledgement of the disappointment experienced by customers, or even a small goodwill gesture, would have gone a long way.

Based on my experience, I would advise cruise passengers to think carefully before booking directly with Norway's Best. If your ship is unable to dock for reasons beyond your control, you may lose your entire payment and receive no flexibility or meaningful customer support.

Very disappointing customer service. I will not book with Norway's Best again.

Booked the bus trip to Stegastein viewpoint. Bus was comfortable enough, but the complementary audio guide that was promised for 'all guests' was not available. Consequent queries to the company were that it was not part of the core services. The road was also jammed (not the problem of Norway's Best) so we had limited time at the viewpoint and the bus driver was not very communicative/grumpy. A lot of money for not very good service.

Avoid at all costs!!!

Do NOT book with Norway's Best. We booked an excursion to the Viking Village in Flåm, but it was canceled due to a fatal car accident that shut down the tunnels for hours. They refused to refund our money. Seriously??? A 21-year-old man DIED. Pure greed on the part of Norway's Best!!!!

Very disappointed with Norway’s Best

Very disappointed with Norway’s Best. Due to bad weather, our cruise ship is no longer going to stop in Flåm, so we are unable to use the train experience we booked.
Instead of offering any reasonable solution or refund, Norway’s Best simply told us to contact our travel insurance company. This is extremely frustrating and feels like they are washing their hands of responsibility.
The situation is completely outside our control. We did not choose to miss Flåm, and we cannot use the service we paid for. Rather than showing any understanding or customer care, Norway’s Best has left us to deal with the loss through our insurance.
In my experience, this is very poor customer service. A company operating tourist experiences should have a much better policy for customers affected by weather-related changes to cruise itineraries.
I would not recommend booking with Norway’s Best unless you are prepared to potentially lose your money when circumstances outside your control prevent you from using the service.

Be wary

Be wary, if booking yourself during a cruise, they will offer no refunds if your ship is unable to dock at the location. They deliberately structure their T&C's to prosper off the unpredictable weather experienced in Norway. Very exploitative.

Bikes poorly maintained. Is this really Norway's best? We don't think so.

Beware: The maintenance of these bikes seems to be poor!
Before you sit on one, be sure to check whether the seat is saturated with water, like the one was on my daughter's bike. This ruined the 2 pairs of pants she brought with her, and we had to cut our journey short because she was cold and very uncomfortable, as a result.
The seats can have cracks, due to wear and aging or maybe customers cause it, and the bikes are left out in the rain all day.
When we dropped our bikes off in Flam, the staff was not helpful or supportive at all:
he said this kind of thing can happen and that's it, that's life.
Not acceptable: When we pay for a rental, we expect the gear to be in usable condition, and a bike with a seat in which the foam padding is soaking wet is not in usable condition.
Norway's Best has given us the worst experience on our otherwise excellent trip to this beaufiful land.
I suggest Norway's Best look after their gear better so that the experience they offer lives up to their name.

Very disappointed with the service

I am very disappointed with the service provided by Norway's Best. We booked our tickets for the Flåm Railway months in advance. Due to an unexpected change in our cruise ship's arrival time, we were unable to make our original departure. I want to emphasize that I do not blame the cruise line for this, as itineraries are always "subject to change." However, we were still left in a very difficult situation, as we discovered this the day before the train ride.

When we contacted customer service the day before, they couldn‘t help us (24 hour cancellation deadline was a few hours over), despite us reaching out as soon as we had internet access after a day at sea.
Even worse, when we arrived in Flåm in person to ask for help just after our train had departed, there was absolutely no willingness to find a solution. We were told there was no space, yet we later discovered that there were seats available on the 12:00 train, and fellow travelers reported many empty seats on their trains. Instead of being helpful, we were told we had to pay another 120€ for the 12:00 train just for a one-way ticket to make the trip.
As a result, we effectively "burned" our initial 150€ booking without any support or gesture of goodwill from the company. It is frustrating to see such a lack of customer orientation and flexibility, even when the situation was beyond our control. I cannot recommend booking with them if you value customer service.

Horrible experience

The cruise was to finished and the bus left without me and my family. We didn’t know it was the last. Nobody told us. No email no messages. We had to wait in the cold for a taxi that costs us 700nok. Total scam. And the cruise is useless. You have the same view by the road where you can stop whenever you want.

In the depths of Winter - a wonderful fjord cruise, a loss and a happy reunion.

In the depths of Winter, we had a memorable fjord cruise after our overnight stay in Flåm . It wasn’t until that evening, while getting ready for dinner, that I realised I had lost my 50th Wedding Anniversary gift - a tree of life pendant - on the ship, probably while removing my heavy jacket once settled on board.
The staff at Flåm Visitor Centre bent over backwards in their efforts to return it to me, including navigating the restriction on posting jewellery internationally - despite it being a return of an owned item! So while it took extra time to arrive due to the many public holidays between loss and return, I now have my personally valuable item back in my possession. I can’t speak highly enough of their care, attention and gracious assistance.

Don't book

Don't book,
Due to bad weather our ship will be leaving port early so we couldn't do the train as planned. We got to the ticket office at 7am, to see if we could change to an earlier one. We were met with the most unhelpful people I have ever met. They wouldn't consider changing our train although there were still 272 seats available. As for a refund, NO CHANCE. It was a very expensive and stressful experience, I work hard for my money so please don't waste yours

We were supposed to go on a cruise to Flaam, but due to bad weather, we had to leave the harbour early, so we couldn't make it to our booked trip. I can see that they have plenty of seats left on several trips that left earlier. But we weren't allowed to rebook. Terrible service. I would be very careful about booking with them; they just want your money.

Avoid this operator and pay on spot directly

We booked the Hike & Bike package for the Flåm Railway and ended up paying for bike rentals we never used because of the confusing booking process.
The website showed bicycles next to the package, which made it look like we could choose our bikes online. Only after arriving did we discover that this option belonged to a different package and thus paid double the bikes. By then, it was too late to cancel or request a refund.
Despite explaining the situation and providing our booking numbers, Norwaysbest refused to refund the three unused bikes package, at least one of it would have been nice. They then told us that we should have spoken with the bike operators which we did but they couldn't help us, as they said Norways best is using a third party provider tool and only the could have refunded us! Sending us in a circle and sitting on the money is not customer friendly. Especially because on that rain day NO ONE was using the bikes and they had plenty of them left. We spent around 10,000 NOK in total and received no flexibility or goodwill.
The user interface is poorly designed, and customers end up paying for unclear information. A company at this price level should take responsibility for a confusing booking system instead of making travelers bear the cost.
In general it seems Norway people do not understand customer service and just try to avoid the customers concerns.

The bikes are low quality and have no bells on them as is required by law in Norway...too expensive to fit all those bikes with bells? So who is liable when you ride their bike but have an accident with a pedestrian walking the Flam footpath..of which there are many??

Fjord fiasco

We booked a trip in Flam with Norways Best to tour the fjords via Naeroyfjord cruise. It got cancelled at the last minute so we had no time to book anything ahead. We were stuck in long lines trying to book anything as most things were sold out. We really wanted to tour the fjords by boat.
They convinced us the only thing available was the Stegastein viewpoint at $103 so we booked it. Then we left the office and found the Safari company where we were able to book a small boat through the fjords. By the time we went back to cancel the viewpoint, stood in the wrong unmarked line for trains, had to start over in another line, the woman informed us we couldn't cancel. This is horrible customer service! She wasn't the least apologetic either. The whole fiasco was the fault of Norway's Best, but we got charged. I will never book with you again and will tell everyone I know not to book with you. Very poor service!

Stay away, Book with other companies

As many other said before avoid them ! There is no service, they just have a site and you book everything yourself and if something goes wrong they - if you find them- say it’s your problem, they are covered by the small letters in their site. If you like this kind of service go on and keep making them rich . I prefer other companies who care for the customer. There are others! And they offer the same. Look them up!

Because of the tempest we decided not to do the day package. The agency did not propose any solutions. We lost all our money (>400€)

We booked for a package train / bike and zip line but we couldn’t do it because of the tempest Floris. The agency refuse to reimburse or find a solution (postpone). The just told us it was a normal weather for Norway! You don’t put children on bike or zip lane even if it is open (the argue of the agency) ! Result : more than 400€ lost!! Thank you for your client service !
