An excellent museum that brings Alicante’s history to life in a modern and engaging way. The exhibits are well organized, interactive and easy to understand even if you’re not a history expert. A must visit cultural stop that’s both educational and enjoyable.
I have gone to most if the special exhibitions at the MARQ and the recent terracotta warriors from Xian was excellent. Looking forward to the exhibition of the dynasties arriving this week. Will be interesting to see the evidence if the first trade routes, development of economic classes and elites in the bronze age. The MARQ is well worth the entry price, with changing international exhibits.
Terracotta Army exhibit 2023: Lovely exhibit, but ruined by being rushed through the room with the actual warriors in, then not allowed back in to look properly after the tour. You’re ushered back out to the main area and told you need to purchase another ticket to get back in to see them. As I had driven an hour just to see the warriors, I was very let down. Perhaps if it is possible to get in to the special exhibit area without the guided tour, that would be the better option, so you aren’t rushed.
A great museum .....been there a few times....
in 2016 there was a super exhibition about Vikings.....and in 2017 it was Mayas.....
