Train from Utrecht to innsbruck…

Train from Utrecht to innsbruck Cancelled last minute while we were standing on platform. No information from company, just trains is cancelled deal with it. At NS counter we were given some option to get to our destination, 3 trains changes, no reserved seats, just dying all night in this nightmare. Instead of sleeping in comfortable cabine, running and standing all night. No compensation were offered.

If you ever consider night train, just don’t, worst experience in my life

Be careful with purchasing tickets!!!!

When searching for a specific travel date on the website, a got other days as results, resulting in me purchasing a ticket for the wrong day as this was the only day where I did not get an error message. It was not possible to cancel or adjust to the correct date, even when calling and e-mailing immediately afterwards. They did not understand the issue and did not want to make a notification to improve the user-friendliness of the website. Also they mentioned I should not have downloaded the ticket and I would get a warning, but the warning was only visible after downloading. I still hope they will improve this. I will be very hesitant to buy a ticket again from this company although unfortunately there are limited alternatives to commute with other transport modes than airplane within Europe. Probably that's the reason why they can easily mislead people and do not take any interest in improving their customer service.

We had a very good experience traveling…

We had a very good experience traveling on the Nightjet from Munich to Rome in a two-person compartment with a private toilet. The mattresses were comfortable, the service was friendly, and the train was pleasantly quiet, which made it easy to rest during the journey. The Wi-Fi worked very well, which was a nice bonus.
Unfortunately, on the outbound trip to Rome there was a delay of about four hours. However, the return journey was perfectly on time and went very smoothly. The trip is also very suitable for traveling with children.
Overall, the price-performance ratio was very good. I can definitely recommend this service — it’s a solid product and I would happily book it again.

Torture

Impossible to travel in winter. It’s +30 in the mini cabin. Even after we asked to turn off the heater, it was still crazy hot. Just a torture

Zagreb-Zürich Nightjet

I boarded the train at the Slovenian border and was very fortunate that I was the first one in the 6-person Couchette compartment, because there is no storage space for big pieces of luggage, so I shoved my suitcase awkwardly behind the bunk ladder as instructed by the conductor.
In Ljubljana, and later Villach, the compartment filled up completely.
It is small and uncomfortable, the door locking mechanism is not easy to use. I haven't slept much due to passenger noise and the train tilt. The "breakfast" is a 7-day croissant and a 0,5L water bottle.
The train is operated and manned by Croatian staff.
The train had approx. 25-min delay at my destination. I appreciate that it was a direct train and that the ticket purchase via ÖBB website was very simple. I loaded the ticket on my phone app, so fortunately no printing was required.
Overall, the price was too high for the level of discomfort endured. I would probably opt for a much cheaper standard seat if I had to travel again.

I traveled from Stuttgart to VI traveled from Stuttgart to Venice on December 6, 2025 on the night trainenice on…

I traveled from Stuttgart to Venice on December 6, 2025 on the night train. For the second time, there were some unsavory people on board who turned off the lights in the carriage at around 3 am to steal from the compartments. Years ago, they stole my money. Luckily, this time I was lucky because I was awake. How is it possible that the conductor doesn't come by? At least to see who gets on? Isn't it possible that to travel, I have to be careful that they don't enter the cabin? In any case, as soon as the train stopped in Salzburg, I called the train conductor and gave him a photo of a thief, which I managed to see when he got off. It's obvious that they should carry out more checks at night!

The service is absolutely terrible.

As we enter the carriage with our number, we see that there is yellow tape across our compartment. When we get hold of the staff, we are told that the room cannot be used because the door is broken. We wait out in the hallway for 45 minutes with two small children who need to sleep, before we are shown to a new room with only two beds. This should have been planned better so that we wouldn’t have to stand and wait for so long — and we should have been given something equivalent to what we had booked. We were four people, so two beds are not enough. We filed a complaint, but we only got the response that what we were offered is financially equivalent to what we booked. Yes, but two beds for four people doesn’t make much sense. The service is absolutely terrible.

Requested to print the tickets in 2025!?

I don't understand how it is possible that in 2025, they still request paper tickets for international journeys.
The breakfast is a joke compared to any other night train, but the beds are comfortable.
I also had an incident when we forgot to lock our compartment, and in the night, someone tried to steal things from our coats. When alarming the controller, he was angry at us for not locking (fair), but did not even try to stop the criminals and let them stay in the train.
Other than that, the staff is very nice, and the temperature and noise level in the train are always pleasant. The controllers (except for that one event) are also very kind and helpful.
I am honestly the angriest at the request to print paper tickets as I travel very often and I don't even own a printer, and this is a big inconvenience that I think has no place in 2025

Our vacation ended great with Nightjet

We traveled from Vienna to Deventer. September 22/23 night in a private couchette. From the beginning to the latest moment everything was great. We had a wonderful travel attendant - a Vienna man - who made us feel happy and comfortable. Our train was late, but we didn’t mind it! Breakfast was served and was delicious!

Sleeper from Salzburg with Toddler

Booked a Sleeper Cabin for 3 from Salzburg to Bruxelles. Clean cabin, comfortable beds and welcome staff.
Our toddler slept very well in the bottom bunk and netting creates a mini wall on edge of the bed.

Train stopped short due to Belgian Strikes, but an alternative service was provided. Unfortunately meaning getting woken up for breakfast (tasty) at 5:30am. Instead of 7am.

Öebb/Nightjet, terrible experience

My family and I used Öebb/Nightjet this summer and had a terrible experience. My family and I did not get the product we had paid extra for, a sleeping compartment just for us. Instead we were scattered from all winds as they had given our compartment to another family. Now I have tried to get the journey refunded for a month and a half with the result that I do not get any kind of refund and where they say that we have not been downgraded even though we have it in writing from the train staff which was also completely hopeless. This is the last time I will use Nightjet and Öebb and will NEVER ever recommend them to others. Miserable all the way through

This company is simply a joke

This company is simply a joke. It's trains leaves from stations hours before the schedule dictates and in other situations doesn't notify its passengers ahead of time when the sleeper trains are out of commission (until they are onboard and are then required to sit in chairs a whole night!).

I will never use their services and advice anyone from doing so either.
