Pathetic over the phone customer…and even more pathetic follow up from the Mephisto response.

Pathetic over the phone customer service as first time buyer was interested in learning more about the Adrien shoe. She acted like I was bothering her. For a first time caller this was terrible and rude. Not helpful at all and just plain ignorant to me. If I buy these shoes it will be in spite of her rude behavior.

Another useless non caring follow up from Mephisto again:
Thank you for contacting the customer service of the official Mephisto online shop for European customers.
We are very sorry to hear that your experience has been less than satisfactory.
We would, however, like to point out that your Trustpilot review was posted for the European online shop, whereas your experience clearly relates to the American online shop. We would therefore greatly appreciate it if you could clarify this distinction in your review, so that it does not inadvertently affect the reputation of the European online shop.
Although we are unfortunately unable to ship shoes to the United States, we would be happy to provide you with information about our collection.
Please let us know what you would like to know about the Adrien model, and we will do our very best to assist you.

Well this I did not think this service could get any worse. But you have made sure of it! You can make that clarification on your own as you are all one company.
I have never seen a company not care about its Customer as bad as Mephisto! If you were any good you would be giving me the US contact customer complaints.

Absolutely terrible service!!! and yes this will be going on to more review sites so they are aware!

As always, Mephisto shoes and sandals are always comfortable as soon as I put them on. These are no exception. They are true to size and I look forward to many years of comfort ahead.

Excellent quality shoes. Good delivery

I am a women and got a pair of the Sam leather sandals 20 years ago for a trip to Europe. They are the most comfortable and durable sandals I have ever worn. In fact I just wore them today to go on a hike. Very worn in appearance, but one of the best footwear purchases I have made!

I will never order again. Returns are not free - costing me 30$ CAD. Never again.

Edit - an order was placed and I was told this by customer service:

Your return is accepted since the order was delivered within the last 14 days. The item will need to be unused, in its original condition, and in the original packaging.

We do not include prepaid return labels for standard returns, so return shipping would be your responsibility in this case. We recommend using Canada Post as the most cost effective option.

Please include your order number #50271 inside the parcel and send it to:

Once your return is received, it is processed within 10 business days, and the refund appears within an additional 3 business days to your original payment method.

Fast delivery, good quality shoes, as always.

Bought these sandals for the removable sole, orthotic capabilities. After two weeks of short walks to the car and back (2 meters away) the fabric on the edges is already peeling off. I do not have a dog and have only been wearing them in an office setting for two weeks. These are supposed to be heavy duty hiking sandals and with minimal wear they look at the end of their life. I am seriously doubting their quality!

I have several pairs of Mephisto ladies sandals. The latest pair Hester Metallic Silver had harsh leather that was stiff and painful for my difficult feet. That is why I only wear Mephisto because of my sensitive feet and I was disappointed to find the leather to not be soft like all my other sandals which I could start wearing immediately. Unfortunately I had to return them. For the high price I paid, I expected better.

Less than one month ago, I purchased a pair of Mephisto sandals from your Athens store for 100 euros and paid in cash.

The sandals were worn only once, and the soles are still visibly almost new. However, despite this minimal use, the material has already started crumbling and deteriorating.

For sandals at this price point and from a brand known for quality, this situation is completely unacceptable and clearly indicates a manufacturing or material defect.

I am therefore requesting a full refund.

The purchase was done in store in athens paid by cash on the 14th of April.

I would appreciate a prompt resolution to this matter.

Up to now, i did not recieve anything. I am still waiting……

I have not received my longed for shoes as you did not deliver. Your delivery people lied about delivery. No one rang my doorbell at the alleged time - I was at home.

I’ve just had a note from Royal Mail to say I can have my shoes and will deliver by paying extra customs charges above £68. But their website and you customer service centre say the shoes were sent back! I have been told by your customer services that you will refund.

The amount of customs extra charge should have been transparent prior to purchase. However more important is your continual wrong delivery information.

If you choose better delivery services I think this would improve your ability to sell here in uk.

I needed shoes wide enough for my bunions. So I ordered the Sabria Mobils. They are supposed to be wide. Now they're in the shoe repair shop to stretch them for me. You only had these new shoes in Germany. Im in Texas US. I paid $295 for this shoe - but with all the tariffs I spent $387!!! So I paid a whopping total of almost $700 for these shoes. You didn't carry this shoe in US and Canada was sold out.
I'm very unhappy that Mephisto promoted mobils as wide shoes yet I now pay extra to get them stretched. I'd return them but I've invested so much I shudder to think what it would cost me to return them.
I'm giving you a 3 star review because all that said, the shoes are absolutely beautiful prettier than even the pictures.

I can always trust Mephisto for quality, style and fit.
What upset me though is the fact I was charged customs duty on top of the price as I live in the UK. This made the shoes more expensive than I would have normally paid. So why isn’t this included in the advertised price?

Would have been wonderful apart from the wrong size being sent. I ordered a size 7 and was sent a size 6 1/2. It’s too much bother and expensive to return unfortunately overseas.

My first Mephisto shoes, very comfortable. There is a Mephisto stockist locally but they do not stock this model so I bought direct from Mephisto online shop. The shoes were sent from Germany, but delivery was quite quick and the delivery charge negligible. I have given 5 stars as I am reviewing the shoes and the Mephisto service.
But!! Regardless of how good the shoes and company are, the downside of buying direct from 'Europe' is that I was stung for a further payment of £67 for Customs Duties and handling charges that I had to pay to Royal Mail before they would deliver. A further third of the cost!! Maybe I should have been more aware of this charge at the outset, but I wasn't. It turned an already expensive purchase into a very, very expensive buy, and will probably put me off doing so in the future.
