The app is terrible on computer. Slow, buggy, always updating. This needs to improve. The phone and tablet versions are great but most traders use a computer. This should not be difficult.

Horrible PC version

I feel like going to back to Windows 3.11 apps in the 90s… The IOS version isn’t bad but the computer version is a nightmare. The whole interface is counterintuitive. I spent half an hour just trying to figure out how to see the chart. Don’t get me started on trying to change any settings… TradeLocker is waaay better. If your broker allows you to choose a trading platform go for TradeLocker. Unless you’re planning to only trade on your phone, then MT5 is fine but still not as good as TradeLocker. I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 because MT5 actually has one really useful feature - the possibility to install custom plug-ins for your strategy

Metatrader is for the social media fame

I've been trading for many years with metatrader but since I've seen my trading account linked to other trading platform beside it I can tell why most brokers and propfirms use metatrader .2 same accounts on a same broker when market close metatrader choose to widens the spread and the other platform tightens the spread.

Deliberately designed to make traders fail...?

Incredible how MetaTrader 5 is nearly as clumsy and frustrating to use as its predecessor, MetaTrader 4! This comparison sets an extremely low benchmark, yet MT5 struggles to surpass it. Both platforms are exasperating in their dismal user-friendliness and efficiency. (You cannot change basic things like the font size, so you can only guess at the market price on the coordinates; every time you open a new chart you have to pull up the crosshair to read it...why?).MT4 and MT5 survive in the trading world only because EA creators and funding companies, such as FTMO, insist that traders use them. Could it be that funded account companies, including FTMO, might intentionally make the trading process more difficult, thereby increasing the likelihood that traders will fail their qualification tests, to allow the companies to retain the fees paid by their frustrated applicants? I wonder.
Any intelligent person trading nowadays is used to the quality and efficiency of TradingView, SOS, IBKR, Webull, Robinhood and many others. Using MT4 or MT5 is like attempting to sprint through a quagmire—an exercise in frustration and inefficiency. This underscores my belief that MT4 and MT5 may be intentionally designed to increase the applicant’s chances of failure, allowing funded account companies to maximise their retention of entry fees from frustrated applicants. Just a thought.

MT5 interface is really limited…

MT5 interface is really limited especially the mobile app. You are restricted to set time frames yet other charting apps allow for alternative time-frames... Sometimes the app just freezes when you least expect it and you. They really need work on making it user-centred (or close to it). Otherwise it is one of the leading trading apps brokers always recommend to their clients.

This is a complete nightmare

This is a complete nightmare! The charts in MetaTrader 5 look like they were drawn by hand.
The numbers don’t match reality; the candlesticks and quotes are constantly “lying.”
This makes trading impossible—it’s just a scam targeting users!
I demand an explanation and immediate correction of these errors.

Platform incredibly outdated!!

The MT5 platform feels incredibly outdated in today’s trading world. The trade management system is old-fashioned and lacks the intuitive flow found in modern platforms. It is far from user-friendly, making simple tasks feel like a chore. Visually, the interface is unappealing and looks like it hasn't been updated in decades. It definitely needs a major overhaul to meet current standards.

Doesn’t let you make price alerts

Mt5 is very useless, it messes up your money, freezes a lot, there is too much maintenance going on and doesn’t show the correct price of gold or btc, trading view shows the correct price always and is always running, also they should have a section where you can make price alerts to know when price crosses a certain price with very good timing on notifications for this.

Request to Restore MetaTrader 5 Version 5.0.5370 for iOS

Hello MetaQuotes Support Team,

I hope you are doing well.
I am writing as a professional scalping trader who relies heavily on the MetaTrader 5 mobile app for fast market execution. The recent updates have significantly changed the performance and complexity of the app, and Version 5.0.5370 was much more efficient for scalping and quick trade entries/exits.

Many traders, including myself, are requesting the option to retain or reinstate that older version for iOS, as the current versions are causing delays that negatively impact trading results.

Please consider bringing back Version 5.0.5370 or providing an option to use it again, as it was extremely valuable for advanced traders.

Thank you for your attention and support.

Every time there’s a platform update

Every time there’s a platform update, MT5 starts crashing or freezing in the middle of sessions. It’s incredibly frustrating to have trades get stuck or the platform become unresponsive when the market moves fast. Not reliable for serious trading.
