Mailfence is an end to end encrypted email suite that boosts collaboration and convenience without compromising neither. You can encrypt symmetrically and asymmetrically with Mailfence via our platform the encryption is dead simple and with our Integrated keystore end to end encryption has never been easier. I had used an account on here for scam baiting. I know, probably not the wisest idea ever, but not illegal by any means. At one point, I sent a similar email to several different scammers, and mailfence flagged THAT as suspicious. They shut down my account. When I tried to reactivate my account, the demanded that I upgrade to an exorbitantly priced subscription package in order to have my email revived. What the hell?! Just because I had a free account, I can't get it back? Thank goodness I didn't have anything important in there! They could do this to anyone for any reason! They're the real scammers!!!!!

What's the point of using an email service if no emails arrive? That is the definitive conclusion after trying to bear with/use this service for over a year now. Useless and actually harmful if you happen to count on it for even the most basic service of *cough* RECEIVING emails. Shameful that such a fraud is allowed to exist. Waste of time.

Useless. Blocks emails from British Gas with link to set up account. They don’t go in the spam folder, they just never arrive. You cannot change the filters unless you upgrade to a paid account. Given how many companies send these stupid click the link emails this is not helpful.

OUTSTANDING customer service. If I could give 10 stars I would. Thank you MF team.

We were looking for an EU alternative for our mail services. After reviewing the pricing & functionalities sheet, we decided to pick Mailfence. But once we started the migration, we were faced with the fact that for each emailaddress you would need a subscription (resulting in twice as high costs as before). At least, if you want to use a third party email client rather than webbased mail. To me this seems like a basic functionality that shouldn't come at extra (hidden) costs. The lack of transparency in pricing is the reason we left again. Also, they charge for a full-year right away, and I couldn't get any money back for the remaining 11 months that I am not using their service.

Excellent encrypted email, clear email appearance, and very responsive customer service, thank you!

Same experience as other users have reported. I tried to sign up, entered the security code provided (for which I had to hand over another email address) then got a "declined" message telling me four reasons why my application may have been rejected, none of which were correct or relevant. On the face of it, it seems to be a mechnanism to gather email addresses.

I have been a customer for 4 years and the customer service has never been good but my account was coming up for renewal and my card had changed
So I tried to renew but it would not allow me to renew at the rate I have always paid £40 a year’
They only would renew me at £100 a year
I do not use any of there extra services and there service is awful
Now they will not reply even though I have paid to receive basic mail.
There complaint website is down
And as a business I am receiving only spam,
I believe Mailfence is secure but if a hacker wants to be a menace they can redirect mail and when I tried on many occasions to contact support I had twenty redirects and never got to talk to support until I used another mail server
When I did this I they sorted out my problems
So my review has changed for the better I
May be making hacking a criminal offence with serious jail time the web would be a better place

Even for a paying customer, this is poor service.
They constantly classify certain emails as spam, even when you add the address to your private whitelist. I’ve contacted their support team three times about this, but they refuse to do anything about it. Even emails from my bank are marked as spam — again, the address is in my whitelist — yet they still decide it’s spam, so I have to keep checking my junk folder.
I do not recommend them. They are not reliable.
UPDATE: After receiving a reply to this review, I did as they asked and sent it to their support again, but I never received an answer back. Even more emails were classed as spam, even PayPal! and other major companies, even though they were all whitelisted. I have stopped using MailFence and cannot recommend it. Do NOT use this company; the service is EXTREMELY poor. I have since changed to another company, and now I receive my mails correctly in the correct folders

A lot of times their software is shocking. But persevere and they will make it work.
I could not get my account to work no matter what I did - help, AI chat, "documentation" (meaning impersonal help based on fixed Q & A) and e-mail. Their boilerplate e-mail response said they don't answer e-mail from free subscribers ("rarely" if they have staff available). '
I couldn't do anything with that so I ignored it. If it wouldn't have worked, I would have cancelled the account.
But, surprise, surprise, the next day, they sent an e-mail asking for some simple information like name, e-mail address I want to use, username, etc. Then, the day after I answered that, they sent an e-mail to tell me that they had set up my account and given me a temporary password to get into it. I used that password and everything worked perfectly!
mailfence.com is really free, it is easy to use, it is secure and, if you ignore their boilerplate and just use their e-mail address, you can get good results.

I've been a paying customer of Mailfence for years. Recently, they froze my account, said it is scheduled for deletion and are turning away emails. They further state that my account can only be unfrozen by an intervention from user support. I have emailed sales, support and abuse at Mailfence 2 times each and have yet to receive a reply or any information. It is frustrating and VERY disappointing. It seems like extortion or a scam. Up until very recently, things have been fine. Now...not so much!

I had a little bit of trouble actually getting an email address from Mailfence. There were some anti-phishing and anti-malicious issues that kept me from getting an email initially. But I can totally see why they would want to be careful. Once I emailed their support people, I was contacted in less than 24 hours. I sent them back some particulars. They got me set up and I was emailing people my new address by the next day. For the added security, I felt that a day to set it up was more than reasonable. The people that helped me were courteous and expedient. Good job.

Mailfence are consistently reliable and good communicators. Things get fixed or explained, and the service keeps going despite various attempts to attack the servers.

I have been using this service for over a decade. I have tried all the rest and have not found a good reason to change. It has all the pieces, is well coordinated, and very security focused - I do not worry about the provider monetizing my content or hackers. Customer service is very quick and knowledgeable, focused on solving the problem immediately. The owners are working in the background to continue to improve the service. I like that it is a smaller company - less interesting to hackers and fewer internal confusions. I do not use VPNs and have no issues access it from the web.

I wanted to leave Gmail and any other “Made in the USA” providers and find a serious player in Europe. Mailfence is an excellent provider “Made in Belgium” email service focused on privacy at an acceptable price. I highly recommend it. I have been a customer for four years and am generally happy with my experience. After much hesitation, I decided to switch to ProtonMail because the webmail service has not evolved much and unfortunately lags behind the competition in terms of features (ProtonMail, Tutanota, Infomaniak Ksuite, etc.). One last disappointment: I wanted to cancel a few days before the end of my subscription period, but unfortunately, the automatic renewal takes payment 15 days before the end. I asked their support team for a refund as I wanted to cancel my subscription, but they refused, so I paid for a whole year for nothing. That said, I still consider Mailfence to be an excellent alternative to Gmail if you want to de-Google yourself.

Yikes!! I should have read the reviews first. All of my email are going into spam. I started the free account to see how it goes before paying. Needless to say I waisted a lot of time and energy converting emails there so... NO I cannot recommend!
