As stated by others, after sale support is very sub-par. The phone representatives do not know their own product line for technical support issues. I'm also very disappointed in the quality o... See more

I bought a Lorex N910A6 NVR with five A14 bullet cameras and a 4k doorbell camera. Initially everything worked as it should. I had no issues retrieving videos through the app. A year later the reliability of the app is dismal. I’ll get a notification that someone is on my property, and when I log into the app and attempt to see who is there, I get the error message, “uh oh, something went wrong.” The response from Customer Service is to reboot the system. Well, that takes up to five minutes, and by then the person is usually gone. If you are wanting a product that works reliably, I recommend you look elsewhere. Less annoying is the fact that you can set the resolution of the 4k camera in the app, but it reverts to SD quality. What is the point of paying for the extra resolution when the app will not display it?
I will say, locally the NVR displays all camera feeds reliably. It’s the mobile device interface that does not work.
I am writing this out of desperation and frustration. We spent a lot of money on a system and had been working fine for a while, but the moment there's an issue, there is 0 support and no way to contact them! Calling a number based in the US (I'm UK based) is expensive but doable, but if you call their support line, you just get a message saying that the number is not in service! Trying to call them on a landline doesn't work either.
I have emailed their Sales and Sales Support addresses, and only their Sales Support responded with "use Skype" to contact the number. Considering Skype is a discontinued product and can only be used if you use Skype for Business, this is a non-answer.
Sales nor Sales Support were able to help, and neither even attempted to contact their own Support on my behalf, insisting that filling in their form online or calling them were the only options. I've filled in the ticket form 5 times, and the number doesn't work.
I now have a hunk of electronics that I cannot do anything with, and I need to replace it with basically any other company. That was a waste of money that I cannot afford!!
Edit - the 0800 phone number hasn't worked for the last 6 weeks we've been trying to call it. You get a dialing tone, one continuous tone for a few seconds and then silence. I even tried to call it from my work phone, my home landline, and my mobile. My work phone won't even dial the number.

I contacted Lorex support today and asked them to send me an update for my L871T8-Z DVR. They emailed it to me, but the update didn't actually work; the process starts normally and says it's installing the software, but when I check the date, it still shows 2022. In other words, there is no software available to download online. It’s the first time I’ve seen a company fail to provide update software for its devices when it's clearly needed. I am very dissatisfied with Lorex; I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Their support is terrible, and the equipment is basically left unsupported.
Terrible customer service and company doesn't stand behind their employee recommendations. I was told to order something totally incompatible with my system. When I realized it wouldn't work and tried to return it they denied the return as it was out of the 30 day return window. Then they tried to sell me another product which again wouldn't work with my system. Unbelievable. After 5 phone calls with customer service I gave up. I will never order from them again.

I cannot recommend Lorex based on my experience.
Before purchasing, I spent a lot of time on the phone with customer service asking detailed questions to make sure the system would work for my home. Unfortunately, several important setup requirements were never disclosed. I wasn't told that the recorder requires a monitor or TV for the initial setup, so I had to borrow a computer monitor just to get started. I also wasn't told that the recorder requires a wired ethernet connection. My home network is fully wireless, so I had to purchase a Wi-Fi extender with an ethernet port just to connect the recorder.
The installation instructions were also incomplete. They never explained that all of the cameras should be paired near the recorder before being permanently installed. Based on the instructions, I reasonably assumed they should be installed in their final locations first. I paid a handyman to mount three outdoor cameras and a doorbell camera, only to discover they needed to be taken back down for troubleshooting.
I spent approximately 20 hours trying to get this system working, with help from three other people. I even asked Lorex if they could provide professional installation.
or recommend a local technician familiar with their products, but I was told neither was available.
Every device had different problems. One camera never progressed beyond a red status light despite following customer service's instructions exactly. Another camera worked briefly before repeatedly disconnecting and eventually stopped accepting the recorder password. The doorbell camera wouldn't enter pairing mode, then wouldn't accept passwords, then repeatedly displayed "Failed to add device" and "Failed to bind" even though it was only about six feet from both the recorder and the Wi-Fi router. Even after finally connecting, it has continued to go offline frequently. In the end, it was the only device working, and it works less than half the time now.
Customer support was courteous, but the troubleshooting process largely repeated the same information already included in the manual and did not address the specific issues I was experiencing. I was literally told to call customer service back later to try again.
After investing so much time, purchasing additional equipment, and paying for installation that had to be undone, I no longer have any confidence that this system will function consistently over the long term even if I were to get everything working (unlikely).
I requested a refund because the system would not work despite extensive troubleshooting. My refund request was denied, even though Lorex's published return policy states:
“Up to six months: if your goods can't be repaired or replaced within a reasonable time or without significant inconvenience to you and without placing an undue burden on Lorex, then you can choose to either have the price reduced or get all of your money back (by returning the product in exchange for a refund).”
This was the most difficult and time-consuming consumer electronics setup I've ever encountered. Between the incomplete setup information, unreliable performance, and poor customer support, this system is unrealistic and endlessly frustrating. LOREX DID NOT HONOR THEIR OWN REFUND POLICY. I have replaced my entire system with a different brand that was much easier to set up and is all working well. I will be throwing the Lorex devices in the trash.
What a joke You can't barely understand what they're saying at times. they have you do the same redundant repetitive reboot. Try different port try a different cable. Is the power on bull crap with no resolution. By the time you're 15 minutes into it, you don't even want to deal with them, because you can't understand half the things they're saying. Never again lorex!
Don’t do it!!! Bought house with cameras. Can access the app , get notifications of activity…… CANNOT access live view due to password issue. Impossible to fix on the app. Need a monitor !!?? Customer service completely useless. Hooked up monitor in the basement next to recorder, spent an hr with CS generating passwords to try, completely useless. Why should I expect if I hook up monitor and call again it will be different.

Horrible service, I have used them in the past and they were fine. This time I have a defective system. I used the online help tool. Told them this is a time sensitive issue. I was told no problem you will recieve a new replacement in "48 hours to 78 hours." I then spoke to a phone operator who assured me this is accurate. When I called back 3 days later I was told they did not put in the information correctly and that they wil work on it again and mark it as urgent. I informed them a second time this was very time senstive. I called back again 3 days later and now the supervisor tells me he has no idea how to help and I'm being told that I need to speak to a new department who can help but who has no idea whats going on. When speaking to the new department I was told that it will take 3-5 days to process a warranty. The supervisors at the IT/warranty department refused to take my call. I was told multiple times not to worry it will be handed. It has not been handled and now I need to spend more money to see if it is possible to fix the system on my end.
I ordered a camera which I had to return because it wasn’t exactly what we were looking for. The return process has been a nightmare. I sent it back the very next day and was notified when they received it via email stating it would be 7 business days to issue a refund. After the 7 days and no refund, I called support and told me the team that handles refunds would reach out to me in 24-48 hours. Seriously? I requested to speak to them and was told they only communicate by email. So if you plan on getting a camera from them, make sure it’s the one you want because will have to fight for a refund like I am. I will never buy from them again!!
If you're an existing customer and run into a problem, you are on your own. I've written "customer service" twice because my video doorbell was hot and going offline all the time. No response. I will be disconnecting before it starts a fire.

Incredibly poor performing playback. It takes 20 minutes to watch 10 minutes of video. Additionally, downloading video to a local machine to overcome the choppy slow playback just doesn't work. Overall this is one of the worst pieces of software that I have ever seen.

3rd camera in a row that has failed prematurely even purchased extended warranty this time still getting the run around, you can tell they are trying everything to get out of honoring the warranty, do yourself a favor and go to another company to purchase your security system needs!!!!!!

Disappointed with Lorex not standing behind their products. Purchased a complete wireless system in 2021. The lithium batteries no longer hold a charge. I called Lorex to purchase replacements only to find the product was discontinued with no battery parts available. They offered a 5% discount to upgrade to a new system. Checked several websites including Amazon, no battery replacements are available. Why would I purchase an upgrade if the company does not stand behind their product to offer parts. My system is 5 years old.
Worst customer service and products!
Ordered a new dvr when the original one went out. Like clockwork, they only last 1 year. The “new”one showed up and ultimately was “defected”. After wasting about 30 minutes with customer service I ended up returning and throwing all my lorex equipment away. Doesn’t even deserve to be recycled. The wires are cheaply made and produce a low quality picture. Lorex doesn’t have any technician employees to install their camera systems. They expect the home owners to do it which, is completely ridiculous. Hands down the worst security company in existence with the highest prices! Total rip off…I called a local company, they came out and installed a new system for a reasonable price. Night and day difference. Stores that carry lorex such as Amazon and Home Depot should immediately terminate their contracts and throw all the Lorex products in the garbage.

One of my 4K cameras has wifi connectivity issues. It is constantly dropping. Wifi is close so there should not be a problem. But there is. The other 3 wifi cameras maintain connectivity even though they are further from the wifi, to the app but not my NDR. Overall I am disappointed that I chose this manufacturer.

We are done with Lorex customer service. What a joke this company is for home security and professional support. Customer service is untrained, follows a process that took us now 2.5 hours on a warranty replacement for a doorbell camera. We are still on the phone as I type this review. Useless questions to solve the issue to get a replacement camera that will not power up. I have never spoken to a customer service department that is so circular and appears unwilling to solve your problem with inexperienced comical questions. Who has a three hour replacement under warranty process to replace a doorbell. Do NOT buy from Lorex. You will regret you did. Ps. Three hours and received approval to replace under warranty my 4k door bell camera. Even though they do not sell the camera (why?) and only the 2k cameras now makes me believe there are problems with this short lived product. I spent the extra money for the 4k. Second, we did not use the chime that came with the camera because we receive an alert via our phone when someone came to the door. I was told that the camera malfunctioned because it was not connected to the chime. No where in the IFU ( instructions) did it say it must be connected yet my camera worked fine for 11 months. Yet, I had an electrician verify I had 16 volts coming in from the mini transformer and also indicated connecting the chime was not necessary. I am expecting a 4k refurbished replacement and would not be allowed a 2k camera replacement even though they were discontinued. I am expecting this camera won’t last either pushing me outside my warranty when this one fails.

We are a large business, and our experience with Lorex has been extremely disappointing.
Their support is not professional and does not meet basic expectations for a company selling security systems. There is no proper follow-up process, no accountability, and no clear communication. Support tickets are not handled in a timely manner, and in many cases, there is no follow-up at all — even after multiple attempts to get assistance.
For a company in this industry, the lack of a structured support team is unacceptable. When issues arise, especially with security equipment, businesses need reliable and responsive support. Unfortunately, that is not what Lorex provides.
Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Lorex for any business use.

Absolutely terrible product. I purchased this NVR system in December 2020, and within less than 5 years, it completely stopped working. This is unacceptable for something that is supposed to protect your home and provide reliable security.
This system is a complete waste of money. The quality is poor, the durability is a joke, and clearly, it’s not built to last. When you invest in a security system, you expect it to perform when it matters most—not fail and leave you frustrated.
Save yourself the headache, stress, and regret. Do NOT buy this system. It might work for a short time, but sooner or later, it will let you down—and you’ll end up wasting your hard-earned money just like I did.

So after trying for several months now to get hold of customer support when I finally did the line was really bad glitchy and very delayed. Apparently this was my fault it was my phone nothing to do with the fact the uk support number goes to the other side of the world. Very unhelpful and still haven’t got the problem sorted.

I have a new Lorex camera. It was up 6 months. The nigh vision stop working. After removing the camera. I found out it was full of water. I pulled the camera apart and it was full of water. Also noticed it had 3 moister packs in the camera. I could not believe it. So I guess Lorex antisap that the camera would leak. Hum!
