I sent a case to Intrum for them to handle for me. It's practically impossible to followup on it, since their stupid login system demands a login code sent by email, that 90% of the time never arrives. They claim it takes up to 15 minutes (WHY?!!!!), but most of the time it simply does not arrive. This is infuriatingly frustrating. No, they do not go to Spam-folder, they most of the time simply never arrive. Amateurs.

Interim attempting to collect Statute Barred 22 year old alledged debt

Received a letter from ACI saying Intrum had passed them a debt from HFC Bank with a balance owing of £684.76.

HFC Bank were fined £1,085,000 way back by the FSA for poor record keeping and mis selling PPI insurance without adequate checks on customers.

They were disbarred from offering financial services by the FSA.

Upon contacting ACI, they had the account as HSBC Bank and that it related to 2004!!

22 years ago which legally is STATUTE BARRED after 6 years.

ACI confirmed that Intrum had recently passed them a whole load of STATUTE BARRED debts relating to HFC Bank.

Why are Intrum knowingly passing these on to ACI knowing full well they legally cannot collect on them?

Why are ACI not saying hold on here, these are all Statute Barred, we cannot collect on these?

Possibly both parties are hoping that even if 1% of customers who don’t know their rights started paying on these it’s worth their while to do so, but it’s dirty tactics and scraping the barrel attempting to collect on 22 year old Statute Barred Debts.

SHAME IN YOU INTRUM and ACI and Intrum, why are you not recalling these accounts back from ACI?

Also bare in mind that at no time whatsoever has Intrum contacted me themselves about this.

Who are these people?

Intrum keeps contacting me then apologising for having my details attached to some purchase from a place I had never heard of. I have called them repeatedly, after trying to find out why. The person on the phone keeps saying we will remove your details and then months later a new harassment letter. Why is this legal or even allowed? Incompetent and holding my personal data is terrifying enough.

Intrum Oy works on unethical…

Intrum Oy works on unethical principles. If you double pay, they don´t pay you back like other companies.

You have to claim it back by a cumbersome process via a web site. Where you have to key in case number, return number, the sum, your acct number, your name. ALL OF IT WHICH THEY ALREADY KNOW.

Why don`t they just return the money as any other business? Because they want to keep the money,

Playing ball with intrum doesn’t work

Playing ball with intrum doesn’t work, they will either way try to pull one on you. I’m happy with paying delaying fees, but not if you don’t send me the bill itself, and later come with higher delays and claim that a customer was making up not receiving the first one.
They should be under surveillance.

A shame for our planet

Nobody likes Intrum and similar companies, that's natural, because the circumstances are always negative. But even so, Intrum is a terrible experience, no matter what your dealings with them is. Today I tried to deal with them again, which I dreaded, but I never got hold of them. The queue was too long, could not get thru and I don't have all day to sit and wait for these banksters to answer. How could it come to this? How could humanity come to create companies like this?

by far the most unprofessional and unethical company

For over nine months, Intrum has been harassing me with an unjustified claim. The login details they sent to access the supposed documentation don’t even work. Despite several phone calls and written requests, they have refused to provide any proof or documentation supporting their demand.

Instead of clarifying the matter, they keep sending new letters — each one threatening legal action and adding more questionable fees. To make things worse, their letters are dated so far back that it would be impossible to meet any deadline even if the claim were legitimate.

This is by far the most unprofessional and unethical company I’ve ever dealt with in Switzerland. Their entire business model seems to be based on intimidation and fear. Shame on Intrum and on anyone who supports these practices.

After all the time and stress they’ve caused me, I should be the one charging them.
