Account Deactivated

Just trying to create HubSpot account, during onboarding process asked access to connect into my email. I skip it as I need time to test and TRUST the system first before give it access.

Found out unable to sign-in and my account deactivated.

Misleading renewal advice has left our…

Misleading renewal advice has left our entire team unable to make calls

I intended to downgrade our HubSpot subscription completely. I clearly explained that several members of my team needed to make calls through HubSpot.

During my conversation with HubSpot Support, I was advised to retain one Professional seat for the automation features and combine it with Starter/Core licences, allowing the rest of the team to use the 500 monthly calling minutes included with Starter. I also explained that I could find another solution if our usage exceeded those 500 minutes.

Based on this advice, I was persuaded to retain a significantly more expensive HubSpot package instead of completing the full downgrade.

After the new configuration took effect, we discovered that only the single user assigned the Professional seat could make calls. HubSpot then informed us that the combination recommended by its own Support team was not possible, because the Core seats follow the highest subscription tier and additional users would need additional Professional seats.

The Contract Manager was aware that calling access for several team members was a fundamental requirement. HubSpot now refers to written wording stating that only one user would have access to “Professional calling.” I understood this to mean that only this user would have access to the separate Professional allowance of 3,000 minutes. It did not make clear that every other team member would have no access whatsoever to the 500 Starter minutes that Support had specifically presented as part of the proposed solution.

Had HubSpot explained this clearly, I would never have accepted the current configuration. I would have downgraded fully to Starter, paid substantially less and accepted the loss of the Professional automation features.

I have requested that HubSpot preserve and review the relevant Support call recording and internal notes. I have also repeatedly requested an immediate escalation to the Contract Manager’s manager. Despite being told that the matter would be transferred to Support management, I have still not been contacted by a manager or offered a temporary solution.

My team remains unable to work as intended, and we are losing valuable working time every day. It is completely unacceptable that HubSpot recommended a configuration, persuaded us to retain a more expensive subscription based on that recommendation and subsequently told us that the proposed configuration was never possible.

I require HubSpot to resolve this immediately by:

Providing calling access for the affected team members without additional cost while the matter is investigated.
Reviewing the Support recording, internal notes and complete renewal history.
Arranging immediate contact from a senior manager with authority to resolve the matter.
Correcting the subscription or allowing a full downgrade without penalties or additional charges.
Addressing the operational losses caused by the incorrect guidance and delayed response.

HubSpot has useful CRM and automation features, but our experience with its renewal advice and subsequent complaint handling has been unacceptable. I feel materially misled into retaining a more expensive package that does not meet the operational requirement we expressly communicated.

I will update this review if HubSpot takes responsibility and resolves the matter promptly and fairly.

We were completely missold - AVOID

We were completely missold and then dropped the second the contract was signed/over the line.

Disgraceful "customer service" what a shame as this once used to be an amazing company that valued it's customer base.

Would have given 0 stars if I could. Shame on you HubSpot!

Ok, AI could be better

Pros: Easy to learn in training and build upon previous knowledge of the system. The CRM and Sales parts are great for data and utility and the cost is lower than SalesForce which I think needs at least one dedicated administrator to make it work for the business. At least with a small scale team, it seems to do the same job of SalesForce with competitive prices.

Cons: The Breeze Assistant is by far the most difficult AI to use. It does ask precise questions to get the exact need/query but it insists on doing large tasks in batches meaning the user has to restart the next batch manually.

Example: If there was one single process action the task could be done just before end of day sign off in 5 mins, but this one took the majority of the next day to do in batches. By fixing this and upgrading the AI, the most important and long actions can just be done in the background quickly without team worry.

Also, the calls dialled do have line difficulties when the inbound window is kept open meaning simultaneous inbound and outbound call management isn’t feasible.

Working with HubSpot was the worst…

Working with HubSpot was the worst experience ever! We were excited through the sales process. It seemed like a platform that could grow with us as a business and communication was great with our sales person. However, once we got to onboarding communication fell flat. The onboarding fee is $899. Emailing with our onboarding professional left us waiting 3-7 days for a response. We were also told before purchasing that a third party platform wasn't necessary and that HubSpot could integrate with our EHR. We made our purchasing decision based on that since it was a lower cost than other platforms. However, once we paid and signed an annual contract and paid the onboarding fee we were told we actually did need a third party platform. This hiked up our monthly fee. We reached out to support and they said there was nothing they could do as we signed the contract. No discounts were offered. They apologized that onboarding wasn't moving forward and told me to contact technical support as needed. DON'T DO HUBSPOT! I have no doubt the platform is great but the customer service and onboarding is non existant.

The worst customer service

The worst customer service
Hubspot customer services is simply the worst I've encountered in recent history. Worse than the airlines, DMV, City Hall, etc. They hide behind AI bots and after hours of trying to get help from a foreign call center, they don't follow through on what they say they will do and just leave you hanging. The product is good until you have an issue, then you're trapped. Save yourself the headache, don't get started on their platform. It is a major effort to change and eventually you will want to.

Hubspot removed the Marketing Contact…

Hubspot removed the Marketing Contact setting for all my contacts. It took me years to build thIs and when I purchased a new license this setting was auto removed by Hubspot. I only received AI support which did not solve the problem. I"m still waiting to be contacted by a real person. In the meantime I'm migrating to a more customer friendly CRM.

Hubspot lost my customer data

Hubspot deleted my account one day into the seven day notice period. I lost my customer data. My bad for not exporting it but I did not anticipate my account disappearing with zero retrieval or recourse. It's a shame because I have always spoken well of hubspot. Please back up your data.

A terrible start with HubSpot

A terrible start with HubSpot

My experience with HubSpot started by leaving a very bad taste in my mouth.

While setting up HubSpot, its AI assistant directed me to a screen that began downloading approximately 2,000 emails. After only 250 emails had been processed, the system stopped and told me that I had used all my credits and would have to wait 30 days.

This happened because I followed HubSpot’s own AI setup guidance—not because I knowingly chose to use all my credits.

I contacted customer support and spoke with Titus and then Sarah. Neither offered a practical solution or showed any willingness to correct the problem. Their response essentially felt like “bad luck—you’ll have to wait.”

For a new customer trying to set up the system properly, this was extremely disappointing. If HubSpot’s own AI directs a customer into an action that immediately exhausts their monthly allowance, HubSpot should take responsibility and fix it.

A very poor introduction to both the platform and its customer support.

Hubspot used to be great but now unusable

Hubspot used to be great. We've been using it for many years but over the last 1-2 years they have removed many things that previously worked well and replaced them with a new UX features that don't work.

So many examples I cant list all of them here. For example - atachments to emails. It used to be possible to see the full filename of the attachments on received emails. This is essential to know what it is, what file type, etc. Now there is just some 'tile' which doesn't allow you to find out what file type or what the full name is without downloading the file and inspecting it. There are dozens of such examples where they keep on breaking functionality in the pursuit of a slick 'look'. We've invested a lot over 5 years into using Hubspot as our CRM. We really should have given up sooner but have finally decided we cannot put up with the cumulative loss of usability.

After being a loyal HubSpot customer…

After being a loyal HubSpot customer for many years, I can honestly say the platform has become one of our biggest business disappointments. The pricing continues to increase while the level of customer service and support has steadily declined. Long-term customers simply do not seem to matter anymore.

When you need help, you’re often left frustrated, and the value no longer comes close to justifying the cost. Reading through the recent reviews, it was clear that many other customers have had experiences similar to ours.

We have decided not to renew our subscription and will be moving to another platform. There are far more affordable CRM solutions available today that offer comparable functionality with much better customer support. I would strongly encourage anyone considering HubSpot to thoroughly evaluate the alternatives before committing to such an expensive platform.

**Kicking a struggling small business…

**Kicking a struggling small business while it is down**

After more than four years as a HubSpot customer, this experience has completely changed my opinion of the company.

Our small education business has gone from six people to one following a significant decline in enrolments. We are fighting to survive and preserve enough cash to rebuild. We now use HubSpot mainly for occasional email newsletters, yet we are being charged approximately A$665 per month including GST for functionality we no longer need. A simpler email-marketing platform could meet our present needs for under A$100 per month.

We missed the cancellation deadline because we believed that being billed monthly meant we had a monthly subscription. I accept that we should have examined the renewal terms more carefully. However, HubSpot automatically renewed the account into another 12-month commitment.

When we explained our genuine financial hardship and asked to cancel early, HubSpot told us that early cancellation is only permitted if the business closes. They offered a discount but still refused to release us from the remaining term. We were also warned that unpaid balances could ultimately be referred for collection.

It is now cheaper for us to close the company and start a new one, than to keep paying Hubspot!!

This is despite my loyalty to HubSpot across multiple businesses. Over six or seven years, I have recommended HubSpot to at least 20 other businesses without receiving commissions. I had encouraged another of our companies to upgrade its HubSpot account and had even considered building a direct integration between HubSpot and our software.

Apparently none of that loyalty matters when a small business needs help.

HubSpot may consider itself contractually entitled to continue collecting the money, but its response feels like kicking a struggling business while it is down. There is something fundamentally wrong with a policy that permits cancellation once a business has closed but refuses to give a struggling business the flexibility that might help it survive.

The software itself has strengths. This one-star review reflects HubSpot’s inflexible contracts, automatic renewal model and treatment of a long-standing customer experiencing genuine hardship.

Read every renewal provision carefully. Being billed monthly does not mean HubSpot will allow you to cancel monthly.

Our experience with HubSpot has been extremely disappointing.

Our experience with HubSpot has been extremely disappointing.

Before signing on March 30, 2026, I repeatedly explained that one of my biggest concerns was getting our third-party vendors, systems, and integrations successfully set up. We were reassured during the sales process that HubSpot would help us through the process and that getting everything set up would not be a problem. We were also told the onboarding fee was being waived as an end-of-quarter concession.

After signing, we discovered that implementation was considerably more complicated than we had been led to expect and that obtaining the level of assistance we understood would be available could require thousands of dollars in additional services.

Had this been clearly explained before we signed, we would not have purchased the subscription.

We raised the issue shortly after purchase, never meaningfully implemented or used the platform, and requested a refund of the $1,262.40 we paid.

What followed was weeks of emails, transfers between Sales, Support, Billing, and Contract Management, repeated internal reviews, and ultimately a denial of our refund request.

HubSpot acknowledges that onboarding was discussed and that the onboarding fee was waived, but disputes our understanding of what implementation assistance was represented during the sales process. Because of that disagreement, we have formally requested access to the recorded sales calls and transcripts.

We have now filed complaints with the Massachusetts Attorney General, Washington State Attorney General, and Better Business Bureau after exhausting our attempts to resolve this directly.

Our issue isn't that we tried HubSpot and simply didn't like it. Our issue is that we believe the expectations established during the sales process materially differed from what we encountered immediately after purchasing.

We are still giving HubSpot the opportunity to make this right by refunding the $1,262.40 paid and confirming that there are no additional payment obligations associated with the disputed subscription.

If HubSpot resolves the matter fairly, I will gladly update this review to reflect that resolution.
