I have dealt with Scott Hannay recently to get some advice on how to approach a serious tax dilemma. I had a serious car accident in Sept 2023 and ended up in a coma on life support for 3 weeks. When I returned home I was greeted with a letter from the CRA stating that I owe them $23000 for unpaid interest and penalties accrued over a 12 year period. I was dealing with enough stress from the accident that I certainly didn’t need the additional stress of this news..

I spoke to Scott over the phone on a couple occasions in order to get a grasp on what I might do to help my situation and was able to ask a few questions to understand my options.

Each dealing I had with Scott was a pleasant one and he showed compassion for my situation and I really felt he cared and related to me in a way that gave me some comfort. Scott’s ability to provide knowledgeable advice and direction while being completely personable was truly helpful and I can’t say how much I appreciate his help. Scott’s level of expertise and professionalism was very impressive but what meant so much was that Scott had been in a similar type of traumatic accident and he was able to connect with me on that level.

Bait and switch advertising. Faber law advertises a free consult to discuss your tax issues with CRA. They have an administrator call you with zero information to set up a PAID $300 consultation.

Dealing with Scott imediatly relieved me of stress caused by the CRA. Scott was able to navigate through the CRA in short time and resolved my issues. It pays to know the ins and outs. Don't try and do it on your own, hire a professional with lots of experience it saves time and stress

Did a solid job resolving a VPD (Voluntary Public Disclosure) for me for a set rate. Who was helping me kept changing which was a little crazy, but they resolved the issue. However, this resulted in causing another issue in terms of my TFSA, but they have worked with me to help resolve the issue.

The day you check your bank account and realize its frozen is the day you feel helpless until you call CRA collection agent thenyou feel even more helpless through their scared tactics and threat to destroy all you worked for.

I'm to blame for the problems I got into but between paying suppliers and CRA and went with my suppliers to be able to rise up and pay CRA. WRONG! CRA is always first and I learned my lesson but then I was still without a bank account.

I just recently had to deal with the CRA for arrears owed. They were asking for unreasonable terms of repayment as if they had no understanding that all 'income' is not necessarily 'profit'. I recently had the unpleasant experience of owing CRA some back taxes. On first review they took the original amount owed and increased it by 3.5 times, disallowing significant deductions and just being the typical unreasonable CRA we all know and hate. Felix was assigned to my case and kept me informed throughout, followed my suggested direction and was able to obtain all of my due deductions reducing the amount significantly. I'm not happy with CRA and still believe they are unreasonable but dealing with Farber and Felix made the experience much more bearable.
