Still waiting for a refund after more…

Still waiting for a refund after more than a month and no tyres

We’re sorry to read this. A delay of more than a month is clearly not the experience expected.

If you have already opened a ticket with our after-sales service, we will ask for your case to be prioritised internally for a faster review. If not, please submit a request via your customer account so our team can check the delivery status and the refund situation in detail.

Selling 12 year old tyres, then I received a Masterclass in How Not to Treat Customers

PLEASE READ TO UNDERSTAND THE DISHONESTY OF THIS COMPANY.
I have never left a review this detailed before, but my experience with Grip500 has been so poor that other customers deserve to know exactly what they are dealing with.
I ordered two Dunlop SP Winter Sport tyres and then discovered they were DOT 2014 tyres – approximately 12 years old !! Grip500's position was that this was disclosed in the product description, but I was shocked that tyres of this age were being sold as normal retail stock.
On 4 July, after discovering this, I immediately requested cancellation. At that point I had received no dispatch notification and no tracking information.
Grip500 acknowledged my cancellation request and said it had been passed to their logistics team. However, on 6 July I was informed that the order had already been dispatched and could no longer be cancelled. Only after my cancellation request was I provided with a DPD tracking number.
I queried when the tyres had actually been handed to DPD, but no clear answer was ever provided.
Grip500 then instructed me to exercise my right of withdrawal by refusing delivery, which I agreed to do. I was told the expected refund would be €130.17, representing the order value less a €30 return transport charge.
What happened next was extraordinary.
When DPD arrived at the fitting centre, delivery was refused exactly as instructed. According to their fitting centre owner, the driver argued with him for several minutes, refused to accept the refusal of delivery, unloaded the tyres anyway, took a delivery photo and quickly drove off.
The tyres remained at the premises solely because of the actions of Grip500's courier. Neither I nor the fitting partner accepted delivery.
To her credit, one of Grip500's representatives, Alicia, understood the issue immediately. She acknowledged that the driver's behaviour was unacceptable, confirmed that the depot had been contacted, arranged collection of the tyres and, most importantly, stated that NO collection, return or administration charges should apply because the refusal had been attempted correctly and the courier had prevented the process from working properly.
At that point I thought the matter was resolved.
Instead, after collection failed to happen, another representative informed me that collection would cost €30 per tyre, Not €30 in total. €60.
This directly contradicted the written assurances previously provided.
When I pointed this out, I was effectively told that unless I agreed to pay the charge, Grip500 would not collect the tyres.
Think about that for a moment.

I cancelled before receiving dispatch details.
I was instructed to refuse delivery.
Their courier ignored that instruction.
Grip500 acknowledged the courier was at fault.
Grip500 confirmed no charges should be applied.
Grip500 failed to collect the tyres.
Grip500 then demanded €60 to rectify a problem caused by its own courier.

When I challenged this and referred them back to their own correspondence, the responses became increasingly nonsensical and appeared to ignore the established facts. I eventually requested escalation because it genuinely felt as though nobody was reading the case history and I was talking to an Ai agent.
The most frustrating part is not even the 12-year-old tyres.
It is the complete lack of accountability.
A cancellation request before dispatch. Contradictory information. A courier who ignored a refusal of delivery. Written assurances later withdrawn. Additional charges demanded. No resolution and no ownership of the problem.
The entire experience has been chaotic, contradictory and unnecessarily stressful from start to finish. I have asked for this to be passed to a supervisor and I'm still waiting..
I would strongly advise anyone considering buying from Grip500 to think very carefully before doing so. One star is generous.

We are sorry to read about your experience and understand your frustration given the sequence you describe.

As you already have an open case and have requested escalation, we will prioritise your complaint internally so that our service after-sales team can review the full history carefully, including the cancellation request, the dispatch timing, the refused delivery, the carrier’s handling at the fitting centre, the failed collection, and the conflicting information about return charges.

For clarity, when a tyre has a DOT over 36 months, this is normally indicated on the product page. If anything was unclear or handled incorrectly in your case, this will also need to be checked as part of the review. Likewise, a delivery being left after a refusal would normally be treated as an anomaly and raised with the transporter.

Thank you for taking the time to detail the situation. Feedback like yours is taken seriously and is used to improve our processes.

Can't cancel orders or refuse delivery

Edit after company response:
Their team has not contacted me at all in relation to this and there is no resolution. I believe at this stage their refusal to deal with cancellations is policy not mistakes.

I ordered the wrong size in error, and cancelled within a couple of hours I used their ticket system, email and WhatsApp. I was initially told the items were in transit to the courier, but the courier didn't receive anything until 30+hours later and at that point there wasn't even a tracking number.

Next I was told I could refuse delivery and pay a restocking fee, but the courier dumped the tyres by the gate so that wasn't possible.

If you have to send tyres back to them you'd have to send them in boxes with signed delivery, costing over €200. Spent over 1k with them, but will never use them again.

We’re sorry to read about this experience. Since you have already opened a ticket, we will ask our service after-sales team to prioritize your complaint so they can review the cancellation timeline, the information you were given, and the delivery conditions in detail.

If the tyres were left at your gate without your authorization, that is probably an anomaly and it will need to be raised with the carrier. The team will also review the return conditions communicated to you, including the costs mentioned, to provide you with the most appropriate solution under your case.

Thank you for your feedback — it is taken seriously and helps us improve our processes.

Don’t buy at Grip500

Don’t buy at Grip500. They sent me cheaper tires than the ones that I ordered. I was in a hurry and it took 2 weeks to arrive to me, so I asked them to refund me the price difference (120€) and I keep the cheap ones. They didn’t accept and made me return the tires and order them again. As I was in a hurry as needed the tires, I ordered new ones paying again for other order. So after almost 4 weeks I got the correct tires.
Now, 6 weeks later I haven’t the refund for the wrong ones. They say the carrier has lost the tires. Is not my fault, they sent wrong ones and they chose the carrier. Years and years buying from other websites and never had as bad experience as with Grip500. Avoid buy there

We are sorry to read about your experience. Receiving tyres different from those ordered, then having to reorder urgently and wait again, is understandably very frustrating.

As you already have an open case, we will ask our service after-sales team to prioritise the review of your claim, including the carrier investigation linked to the returned tyres, so you can receive a clear and appropriate update as quickly as possible.

Thank you for sharing these details. Feedback like yours helps us improve our order and return handling.
