It’s my first time ordering on their platform. As many others I made a pre-order of The Hobbit mtg set at the beginning of May. Not even collector booster boxes, just regular boxes, bundles and scene boxes in English. After the initial confirmation e-mail (which talked about delivery on the 18th of august) the company never contacted me again. Three months later and it’s been two weeks since the set released and I don’t have any news about my order, if it even was shipped and when can I expect it to arrive. Nothing. I sent multiple e-mails to their customer support and they never reached out to me. I find this extremly unprofessional and quite frankly worrisome if I’ll ever see my order arrive. Of course they regularly collected my money for it.
If you plan on ordering anything with them I would advise you to do it with caution! Horrible experience for a product that I had big expectations for.

I ordered a play booster box, scene boxes, and bundle for the Hobbit MTG expansion. It seems there have been supply issues affecting European distributors, which is entirely understandable. However, Games Island have issued zero communication with impacted customers and are still ignoring emails two weeks after the set has launched.
Delays are understandable, but this lack of communication is not. A simple disclaimer on their website would have been sufficient to relieve customer anxiety, and it is not excusable to ignore repeated emails from customers seeking updates or resolutions (such as splitting shipping for delayed items).

In May I ordered some products including 2 Hobbit scène boxes. They should have been send 18 August, but still no updates or any sort of replies. I have send 4 emails, no replies..
Truly disappointing, and my money looks like it is gone.

No compensation, or any solution are offered. Emails are ghosted and there is complete silence.
Unfortunately this is one of many stores nowadays that turned for the worse.
Update 21-08:
Games Island has reached out to me with a solution, revised my review.

Unfortunately, my experience with Games Island has been very disappointing. I placed and fully paid for an order that was confirmed without any stated quantity limitation. Almost three months later, Games Island unilaterally reduced the quantity of Collector Boxes and shipped only part of the original order.
I contacted their support several times to ask for an explanation and for the contractual basis for this change. To this day, I have not received a single response to any of my emails.
What makes the situation even more concerning is that my customer account and the invoice still show the original quantity, while the shipping notification lists only the reduced amount.
For me, the biggest issue is not simply the reduced delivery, but the complete lack of communication and transparency. I would have expected a professional explanation and a clear resolution from the seller. Unfortunately, neither has been provided.

Games island is THE perfect site to buy magic cards. Perfect prices and great communication. "Vous pouvez acheter les yeux fermés"
I prepaid €2,287.75 for 6 MTG The Hobbit Collector Booster Displays on 1 May 2026. After holding my money for more than 90 days, Games Island informed me that my order had been reduced from 6 boxes to 1 box due to supplier allocation.
While I understand that allocations can happen, reducing a fully paid order by more than 80% after several months is extremely disappointing.
What is even more frustrating is that I contacted customer support requesting clarification and, after 12 days, I still have not received any response.
Keeping thousands of euros of customer funds for months, drastically reducing the order shortly before release, and then failing to reply to customer emails has seriously damaged my trust in Games Island.

SCAM ALERT: They take your money, cut your order, and complete ghost you.
Save yourself the headache and buy somewhere else. Games Island is taking pre-orders they cannot fulfill, taking your money upfront, and then completely ignoring you when things go wrong.
My friends and I pitched in together to place a pre-order for a big release. Out of nowhere, they randomly chopped our order down to a single item, claimed "supplier issues," and kept our money for the rest. We tried reaching out multiple times to sort it out peacefully—offering to just wait for the next batch—and they straight up ghosted us. No replies, no resolution, nothing.
They basically forced an interest-free loan out of us and left us completely empty-handed and out of pocket.
If a product gets popular or hard to get, do NOT rely on this store. They will cut your order without asking, hold onto your money, and completely ignore your emails.
Terrible customer service and zero ethics. Never buying from Games Island again

Ordered €250 in pre-order games on July 6, promised shipment July 18. One month later, no delivery and no communication. Two support emails have been sent (27/07, 30/07), attempted phone contact multiple times, and messaged on Facebook.
Facebook responded once by redirecting me to support email, but ignored my follow-up pointing out that support emails go unanswered.
I cancelled the order myself last Saturday and have the cancellation confirmation. I am now awaiting the refund.
It's concerning that when a customer raises the issue of unresponsiveness, the company chooses silence. I've ordered successfully before, but this level of communication failure is unacceptable.
Hoping for prompt processing of the refund now that I've cancelled.
Update 21/08/2026:
Almost immediately after posting my review on Trustpilot, things started moving fast.
Support sent an email saying one item from the order was not in stock. They could remove that item from the order and send the rest or cancel the complete order.
My son and I chose to let the company deliver the availa ble goods and cancel only the item that was not in stock.
We have received the package in good order and got the refund for the non-stock item.
Happy that everything was sorted out in the end. So I updated my review from 1 star to 3 stars.
Hopefully the company will start working on their communication. A lot of frustration could have been avoided by responding to requests for information or even better by proactively offering the solution we eventually got.

Very disappointing experience with Games Island.
I ordered 6 The Hobbit Collector Booster Boxes from Games Island, but my order was not fulfilled as expected. What makes this particularly frustrating is that other retailers managed to fulfill their orders normally.
A particularly important comparison is with 4X Trading. They were able to deliver The Hobbit Collector Booster Boxes to their customers as promised, while Games Island failed to do so. This makes it difficult to simply consider the situation an unavoidable stock problem.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time I have had a similar experience with Games Island. I previously experienced a comparable situation with Strixhaven, so this now feels like a recurring issue rather than an isolated incident.
I understand that highly sought-after products can create supply problems. However, when a retailer accepts orders, customers expect those orders to be honored. Seeing another retailer such as 4X Trading successfully fulfill the same product makes the situation with Games Island even more disappointing.
For a store of Games Island’s size and reputation, I expected much better reliability, transparency and customer service.
After two negative experiences with highly sought-after collectible products, I will unfortunately think twice before ordering from Games Island again.
I cannot recommend Games Island based on my experience.

Reading the latest comments you apparently select the allocation as you wish since i received my mtg final fantasy order fully and i can see that some were halved, and today i received a mail from your support team saying that you will only send one out of 6 boxes after holding more than 2k for months. The bare minimum is to at least explain the situation months prior not friday before the release and refund immediately as you know what's happening and purposely keep your clients in the dark.
I ordered around 15k of product through the last 3 years, i had the same issue with Bloomburrow but i brushed it off and decided to trust you again.
You are not respectful and this is the last time i use your services.

First off, I want to agree with the other review from "A B/Filip."
I have been a customer of Games Island for quite some time now, and they are my go-to for new Magic releases at fair prices and are reliable in their allotment and shipping.
However, this has changed, and they have honestly been pretty unreliable. You never know if they're going to cancel on you, and it could be literally 1-2 weeks before a release, which makes it impossible to find the products you were looking for at the original price or at all. They'll just blame the distributors, saying that they didn't have enough to fulfill orders. I don't understand why not just cap the preorders to a lower amount than to begin with rather than overselling and then cutting back.
It doesn't even matter if you place your "preorder" in the first couple of minutes of it going on sale on their website. This is my experience with the latest Hobbit release. I placed my order as soon as I could when they were available and completed the purchase. Got a confirmation that it was ordered, and they took the money from my account. Fast forward to 2 weeks before the release date, and they just informed me that I wouldn't be getting what I ordered. Now, with only 2 weeks until release, it's nearly impossible to find a vendor that has stock or is even selling at a remotely okay price because of all the scalping and price hikes since the initial preorder date.
Imagine this: you put your money and trust into their business for months, assuming that they will fulfill your order. They get to hold onto your money and everyone else's who preordered using those funds however they choose, while you have no access to your own money. Then, after all that, they tell you your order won't be fulfilled. I would have rather been informed earlier so that I could find another business to support and purchase from, knowing that I will 100% get what I preordered. What's the point of a "preorder" then if this is the case?
I know this is not the first time this has happened, and I'm sure others are feeling the same pain, as I've spoken with multiple people who preordered from Games Island for the Hobbit release only for their order to also get cancelled or not fully fulfilled. They will continue to do this and keep this business practice up.
As a loyal customer, this hurts to hear from them, and it's extremely disappointing to say the least. I think they could improve on this process in the future and at least give notification way in advance or figure something out where this isn't a likely occurrence. I still think their prices are great, but at the current moment, this is my review of their business and practices, and they can definitely improve. If you're thinking of ordering from them, please be aware of this and support your businesses wisely.

I have been a loyal customer of Games Island for years now. In general, being that they are a WPN store for Magic and a big retailer for TCGs, they get the product regularly that one would want to purchase and keep (mostly) fair prices.
However, they are extremely unreliable. You can never know whether you will get the product you've ordered or not, even if you pre-order the very minute orders come online and even if you are a loyal customer of theirs - it does not matter, at any point they can and they will inform you that they were not allocated the product so they are cancelling. What this causes is: You put your money in their business, they have the money to work with while you don't have your money to buy at another place.
They cancelled my The Hobbit orders. Yes, the set is popular, we know this - but I placed the order 1st minutes of it going to sale - the boxes were available for a while after I completed my purchase. They only now informed me of the cancellations. The boxes not only that cannot be found anymore, but have sky-rocketed in price even if you can find them - even if they informed on time I could have paid in another place (higher price, but still get my boxes) - now it's impossible for me to do so!
In addition, they put the whole blame on the distributors - they take NO accountability. There is no compensation of any kind or any way of remedying the situation, just Sorry, it's distributor's fault, we cancel.
This is not the first time this has happened and I am sure it wouldn't be the last time and they will just keep the same business policy.
A long time customer - this is why this stings even more :( really sad and really disappointing.
I know some would say - you got some service from Games Island through the years so why give 1 star - well it's objectively the grade at this moment in time. If there is a proof of change at any point, then that can be corrected by their actions.

Excellent customer service. Very friendly. Sometimes it might take a little while for them to reply, but they always apologize and give you a reason why (understaffed cause of illness of colleagues for example).
They think along pro actively and take your questions serious.
Also been offering msrp, which you rarely see nowadays with all the scalpers.
Will order again in the future.
Arrived very quickly and all items were exactly what I expected. Brilliant service.
A very disappointing experience. I placed my pre-order well in advance specifically to receive the product as soon as possible, yet it has now been two weeks since the expansion was released and my order still hasn't been shipped.
The worst part is the complete lack of customer support. I have contacted customer service multiple times and have received no response whatsoever. It is unacceptable that customers who pre-order months in advance are treated this way, with no updates or explanations.
The whole point of placing a pre-order is to ensure timely fulfillment, not to wait indefinitely while being ignored by customer support. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Game Island.

Ordered from them, the Belgian post company screwed up and returned my order due to a "Glitch in the system". Games-Island picked up the slack and fixed the issue by sending it again without additional surcharges for me. They went above and beyond in fixing the issue! They are very patient and understanding people, they will calmly work with you to figure out a solution in case of a problem.
