The golf holiday in France was as advertised. The hotel was nice, not high luxury but quite acceptable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable with a nice bathroom, good towels, no washcloths, quite nice bed, pillows a bit too hard, and amenities like a refrigerator and a safe. The hotel lacked an elevator and we were on the third floor so that was a small problem but the staff helped us with suitcases and golf cases. The scenery was very nice with an ancient Roman aqueduct beside the hotel, the golf course right beside the hotel, and the restaurant overlooking the course. Food was good in the restaurant for breakfast (free) and lunch (not free), but didn't serve dinner. A car is mandatory (or taxi/Uber) to get to local towns for dinner. The two golf courses were attractive but the Saint Donat course had significant problems. Despite our longstanding reservation, a tournament was scheduled at the same time and we had to wait unconscionable times at each hole. Also, the course was cart path only and for us older people, that would have been a non-starter if I had known. The course was hilly and hard to walk. Should Golfandmore offer this trip again, I suggest they choose a different course. The Opio Valbonne course was quite nice, although had a number of narrow fairways and challenging holes. The cost of this 7 night, 3 golfing outings was very reasonable. It does not include airfare, which has to be scheduled separately. Our package included a rental car, which was essential, but very thoughtful. The rental company was Alamo, which was a nightmare at the Nice airport. We waited in line almost 2 hours to get to the counter. I would not use them again at that airport. All in all, this was a delightful holiday that was well worth the money. This was our first trip with Golfandmore and I was apprehensive, but we are already planning our next trip with this company.
