Applied as a Yoruba transcriber/reviewer. The qualification quiz demands careful judgment calls on style-guide rules—clean vs. full verbatim, sound event notation, false starts, capitalization.

I went through the guidelines thoroughly and answered based on the documented rules, confident in my reasoning.

Result: failed, with zero breakdown of which questions or why. Just pass/fail. No way to know if I made real errors or if the scoring system glitched and given how carefully I worked through it, a system issue seems plausible.

If you're asking skilled linguists to invest time in qualification, give them visibility into results. Can't recommend committing time here until that changes.

I have been blocked since Saturday because the Urdu transcription quiz is technically bugged. It marks every correct answer as 'Wrong'.

I have sent 3 follow-up emails including 1 escalation email. It has been 4 business days with zero human reply. This is unacceptable.

I worked as a transcriber for them. Initially, they rated my accuracy at 98%, but about a week later, they gave me a 1-star rating and claimed my accuracy was 0%. I had no right to appeal and was summarily dismissed. They exploited me, paying less than $6 per hour of transcription.

To be honest, this is pure labor exploitation just to line their own pockets. If anyone asks which website has the worst experience and service, I would say it's GoTranscript. I can't believe they are still in business today. Frankly, this company deserves to go bankrupt so they can no longer exploit people like this
