Stay Away From These Scam Business

Once you upload your books they refuse to take it down. I have send them them numerous emails but they fail to respond. It is impossible to contact them. These owners are total frauds. I contacted business that was displayed on the website to give them credibility and some requested their names to be removed . But they will not stay in contact with book sellers and book translaters.

Won't honor contract.

Terrible company, refused to honor contract.

I told them YEARS ago that I wouldn't be renewing my contract, that I thought they were frauds that were simply trying to tie up language rights and they did zero advertizing and made zero effort to market the book.

In five years they registerd 87 cents of sales.

When it came time to renew the contract they tried to AUTO RENEW it. For the first one I told them no way, and got the book taken off the market. For the second they stopped responding. I officially told them that if I saw any copies of my book on the market, I would DMCA them.

They don't care about contracts, copyrights, or the law. They need to be taken down and taken out by every government's IP rights authorities.

They won't cancel agreement after it's expired & requested to cancel

I've had two books translated by Babelcube years ago & the agreement expired years ago. I have asked for them repeatedly to cancel the agreement in response to emails, but they never cancel it and keep on sending me emails every year with subject line of: "Agreement cancelation "In The Wind With Biker George" into Spanish" From support at babelcube dot com that says...
The agreement for the Spanish translation of the "In The Wind With Biker George" book expired today.
Since we have not received a request to terminate it, it has been automatically extended for one year. The new expiry date is 02/12/2027.
Cheers,
The Babelcube Team

My response once again this time is close to same every year... I have requested to cancel over and over... how many times a year am I supposed to keep telling you to cancel?
I'm telling you again... PLEASE CANCEL agreement for the Spanish translation of the "In The Wind With Biker George" book!

Publications not going through

I wanted to share a concern — all the authors (around half a dozen) to whom I’ve sent translation offers have declined, mentioning that their books haven’t been published yet, some dating back as far as last February.
I find this quite worrying, and I hope a solution can be found soon for these authors. In the current economy, it’s important that our work leads to sustainable income.

Absolutely not

I don't know how things were in the past, but since I signed up as a translator, I have never seen any money from them. Six months ago, my first translation was completed and Babelcube usually has a couple of weeks to publish it onto various platforms. HOWEVER, they never update the status of the books (but they actually publish them on the platforms, because I found all of my work there without my name or any royalties shared with me or the authors). Please, do not work with them if you value your time and peace of mind. They never reply to their emails (when they do, they are vague and send the same messages repeatedly). ALLEGEDLY, the platform commits fraud this way. I moved to another platform for literary translators.

Fraudulent fake company

The company never paid me or the translators. I paid 2 or 3 translators when I noticed my books would not generate any money for us. As the author, I keep requesting them to remove my books, but instead they extend the contract and never answer any of my requests. It is a fraudulent company that profits on authors and translators, and never pays a single dime. A real headache. I am getting a lawyer to recover control over my books and take this company out of business.

After receiving feedback that the…

After receiving feedback that the translation of one of our books was clearly done by Google Translate, we opted to end our contract instead of renew it. We even received confirmation from BabelCube that the book would be taken out of distribution. Seventeen months and multiple emails later (with few responses) the book is still being distributed and final payment has not been released.

I will receive their mails until the end of time

Last and first mail I received from them said I should ask the author of the books I've translated to withdraw the rights.
The author is not on the website anymore, I still am, and will be until the end of time I guess.

They block you instead of help

Instead of answering simple questions (example “Is it possible to reply to the reviews on my profile?”) they block your emails so you cannot message them anymore. I've asked that exact question like 4 times, they never replied to me and I tried messaging them today again only to find out that they have now blocked another email of mine.

bullied for free…

The only ones who gain are the dishonest authors and Babelcube. To make sure of that, the only ones who can leave a review are the authors, translators can NOT express their opinion about their experience with the author nor comment in response to a review left by the author.

I am literally being bullied by an author who in addition to other things has been going on for days with inferences, insinuations and requests for files that actually by contract I am not even required to provide to him since my translation has already been accepted ( evidently he has found no other way to hold it hostage further time). Why is this? Because he knows he can write in the review about me anything and I will not have a chance to respond nor defend myself against false accusations. (False accusations that have already been made via message, so it is not my imagination). I find this disgusting. And I think in the future I will focus on platforms where the also translator is a human being with the right to speak, reply and defend

I applied as a translator

I applied as a translator, completed their requirements and translated the paragraph I needed to translate into Spanish. Not only I was born in Argentina, but I am an author myself. After waiting for a month for someone to answer me, I received an email stating that my request to translate had being cancelled. I would love to know what are this website's objectives.
