I signed up for the 7 day direct access course with guaranteed pass mainly because I had lost confidence in my ability due to a recent bad experience with a different riding school. Carl my instructor made me feel comfortable straight away and after 3 days I was so confident I believe I could have passed both tests on that day. The level of information, guidance and encouragement is second to none and I went into both my MOD1 and MOD2 tests very confident and passed both first time which meant I got a £500 refund paid into my account straight away. If you want to pass your motorcycle test don't bother shopping around, just give them a ring, enrol on the course you want and as Carl the instructor says "YOU WILL BE FINE"

As a father and son duo we saw just how excellent the instructor team are with both young and old new riders. The son sailed through the course and passed everything first time, the old fella needed some additional time, help and support to gain the ability and experience to pass tests and ride comfortably and safely.
We have now gone from not having ridden at all to having a full license and riding our own bikes. The patience of the instructor and the quality of the instruction were second to none. I am recommending to everyone they should do the direct access course, I wish I'd done it myself years ago!

Fantastic experience completing my 6‑day DAS course with BMW Motorrad Rider Training in Exeter. The kit provided was high‑quality and spotless, and the almost brand‑new, top‑of‑the‑line motorcycles made every ride a pleasure.

The course itself is brilliantly designed, striking the perfect balance between Mod 1 practice and plenty of time out on the road. The instructors are genuinely friendly and clearly love motorcycles — as a complete rookie, I really appreciated how the stops along the way gave me a great taste of biker culture.

A special thank you to Martin Arliss, who was outstanding. He’s calm, patient, clear, and incredibly reassuring — exactly what you want when learning. Also very Mod1 confidence boosting to watch a 6ft 8 rider handle a 1200 RT with the agility of a small bicycle!!

While the goal was to get my unrestricted licence (which I’m delighted to say I passed first time, having only done CBT prior with no other road experience), it was also just an utterly fun six days from start to finish.

The best school you can get!! Specifically if you don't have a lot of experience riding a bike, this is the place to go. I booked the 6 days course to do the full licence, with the only previous experience of ridding a bike I had, was the one I got during the CBT course. Denis is a fantastic instructor, he was patient, knowledgeable and really cares about you learning how to ride a bike. He managed to get me to pass everything with the little experience I had. The facilities are very good as the gear that they provide and also the bikes, pretty new and really good condition. Really glad book my course with them.

I didn’t really know what to expect when I arrived last Saturday, but what greeted me, both on day one, but also the remaining days was always an overwhelmingly welcome feeling, from each and every person within the business.

My six day intensive DAS training course in Exeter was outstanding. Top notch facilities including a log cabin style training base, protective clothing, a private road training circuit with traffic lights, plus the latest BMW bikes.

Primarily the instructors Dave, Martin, Chris K. and Pete B. were very friendly, patient and knowledgeable. I learnt so much not only about how to ride a 900cc bike but about biking and bikes in general. A special shout out to Lou on the admin side who looked after me and provided some very helpful and supportive advice. I would recommend this riding school to anyone for basic or advanced level training.

It was an overall great experience!

I attended, cost £800, Hotel £120 petrol £100.. Shocking set up, dismal admin. Told to get there at 07.30 to 8.00. Nobody to greet you, nobody knew what was going on. No sign of training team all the course participants just left outside a cafe looking at each other wondering what was happening. Got told the one last month was canceled as not enough people, No wonder, save your money and go to a professional one like California superbike school. I left after sitting in my car for 45mins.. Complete waste of money, Phoned BMW no interest at all in my input or constructive criticism,. Stay well clear.

Excellent Experience!

I attended the 6-day Intensive Direct Access Course in Exeter. Despite being a novice rider and having never previously visited the city, let alone ridden around it, I was understandably anxious.

However, I cannot praise BMW Rider Training and my instructor, Chris Kingsley, highly enough. The facilities in Exeter are incredible, and Chris K was a calming and reassuring presence, as well as being informative, professional, friendly, and knowledgeable; always taking time to educate and constructively explain and never pressuring.

Chris Kingsley made the 6 days an incredibly worthwhile experience. Even if I hadn't passed MOD 1 and MOD 2, I still learned a tremendous amount about road craft that I'll take with me as both a car driver and motorcycle rider.

I thoroughly recommend BMW Rider Training, with their second-to-none facilities, and Chris Kingsley, an excellent and composed instructor.

Great Experience at the Darlington BMW Rider Training super friendly instructors, Passed my A2 License first try will definitely be coming back here to do my A License! 😆🏍️

I was looking for a motorcycle refresher course as I wanted to get another bike. This place offered just that. It is a very slick and professional setup they have in Royston. They supply all the equipment, helmet, gloves, boots etc and of course a bike. They have 2:1 tuition and David our instructor was excellent. I learnt so much during the course of the day. I can't recommend this place enough.

Three things that make BMW Rider Training at Darlingon exceptional are 1. The team of highly experienced trainers 2. Their attitude to training to meet your needs to achieve the CPD, Mod 1 and Mod 2 levels reflects their experience to fit your needs and finally, 3. You are training on great BMW equipment.
