Not a very trustworthy company

I had a service technician out to my house for my AC unit and he said that my contactor unit was bad due to a surge and he said it also stressed the capacitor. even though that the capacitor was still working he said it should be replaced at the same time as the contactor unit otherwise it would go out soon and i would be placing another service call in about a week. So i said ok for him to replaced the both parts and the repair took one hour of labor, but to my surprise the bill was $817.00. What i do not understand is how do you charge $817.00 for 2 parts that cost between 30 - 50 dollars each and I know that because i priced them online from multiple different suppliers and one hour of labor? Bottom line is the parts were around $100 and i don't know what their hourly labor rate is but let's say $150 or $200. so the bill should have been around $300 max not $817.00. This was a good lesson for me to know which service company to trust and call for future repair services.

We had an HAVAC unit installed by them…

We had an HAVAC unit installed by them for $18,000 this includes a $7000 discount which means the unit originally was $25,000and they put the PLENUM on the unit, which is part of the unit it had holes in it & the water came through the ceiling and all down the wall leaving puddles of water on my floor at the end of my stairs. So they came out and put in a bunch of fans to help dry the wall to prevent mold and get this, when they replaced the PLENUN they replaced it with holes in it too one more time isn't that awesome??? What a clown show this company. They installed a defective product and they came out to fix it and installed another defective product. WTF? They're gonna have a bunch of money for repainting and mold and everything else they screwed up what the hell has happened to this company?

This company is not trust worthy to say the least!

This company is not trust worthy. Robbie; salesman is just about the sale. Call anytime (cell also) any concerns or questions. He’ll says he’ll be back 9/18/26 8am or before workers arrive to go over things with them. Couldn’t reach him by any phone and never say him again. No one showed by 8am. Office called they need to go back to another customer and they would arrive by 11am;11:30am I call office. Worker haven’t arrived. Linda ( manager; also lies.) says she will check and call back. Which comes at 12pm; workers on the way. Didn’t arrive until 1pm. They got busy removing, installing nee AC unit. They were nice; polite, & respectful of property. 9pm they say all is good and they would pick up old unit tomorrow morning. On 9/19/26 5am the attic is colder than the home. Call back and they will have them come back out this morning, didn’t arrive again until 1pm. 7 pm home still hot. They want to change out thermostat to force unit to work. I want to cancel at this point. Stated to manager that called about replacing thermostat. Now keep in mind I only have until tonight to cancel. They get some cool air, but they call it at 9 pm and someone else will pickup old unit tomorrow. Well 5am 9/20:26 home still can’t reach set temperature. Call office again spoke with Linda who says she’s a manager and because of all of the issues. She will send out someone today by 11 and mail me a check for $550. 00. It is now 9/3/26 and I haven’t seen any compensation of any kind. Service worker shows by 11:45am. Everything looks fine, but he’s back and forth from attic to outside unit for two hours. He can replace old thermostats back or pickup old unit. But he’ll remind some to pickup unit tomorrow. By the afternoon the unit is working properly. I have to call next to days to get someone to pickup old unit. Get a call back to make an appointment for some to pickup old unit; which has been out side this whole time. Lowe’s really can pick a much better company to partner with. I would not recommend A R S to anyone; enemy included. They provided the absolute worst service. Took them a whole week in 90 plus degree days to install and fix issues. I won’t call them for any other services they provide either, because of how awful this process was and you just can’t trust them to tell you the truth. They only want your money and they don’t care beyond that. I have reached out multiple time to speak with a manager, besides Linda of course. No one had reach back out. I do plan on reaching out to Lowe’s as well. Any company can do better than ARS. They’re just as expensive as other providers. Take my advice; spend your money somewhere else.

We are very unhappy with the service we…

We are very unhappy with the service we received in Mooresville:
1. Took 5 days in 95 degree heat for new unit to be installed and running properly.
2. Walls were gouged and scraped and need repair.
3. We could not use window units during this time because of the shape and opening of our windows.
4. Each night we drove 30 miles to our son's house to sleep so we didn't have to get a hotel.
5. Will be switching our service contract elsewhere.

BE AWARE!!!

BE AWARE!!!! This Company is using the HOME DEPOT brand to offer a very attractive price for AC services, just to access you home and then charge outrageous prices for what they said was included. They use false advertising and a deceiving process. They still will charge you even if nothing was done. Then when you call to request a review of the invoice a very aggressive person at accounting, takes the call and threaten to go to collection without even hearing what happened . My recommendation: Look for another provider!!!

Overpriced service and complete lack of itemized billing transparency

I recently had ARS/Rescue Rooter replace a gas water heater (contracted through Lowe's) after severe basement flooding. They charged $4,047 for the job—far exceeding reasonable retail and installation costs.

To make matters worse, they have consistently refused to provide a clear, line-item breakdown of the charges for labor, materials, and permits. Instead, the billing included unrequested line items ($1,200 labor warranty when AO's warranty is 6 years) and a total lack of transparency. I have been forced to file formal disputes with the Indiana Attorney General, the BBB, and my financial institution.

If you value fair pricing, clear documentation, and honest communication, don't press the "Installation" button on Lowe's checkout!!

I was reassured in the most positive…

I was reassured in the most positive way that no other vendor has provided me before. To this point, after installation, I called the manager responsible for answering any questions or handling any concerns I might have. Well, he did just that! My concern was I would not pass my inspection for the installation because another vendor, who was not happy about not getting my business, told me my fuse box was not up to code! I told Hamilton about what I was told an they told me don’t worry! So Hamilton made sure a technician was with me when the inspector came to check out my air conditioner installation! I felt so much better because Hamilton cared enough to make sure I had nothing to be concerned about! I applaud Hamilton for going beyond the call of duty by making sure a technician was on site with me while the inspector did his evaluation! Who provides that quality of support! Hamilton did! I was totally impressed and relieved!! I would highly recommend Hamilton to anyone for their HVAC needs !!

Predatory sales tactics, equipment damaged during routine service, and zero accountability.

I have been a loyal ARS / Rescue Rooter customer since buying my home in 2016, consistently paying a monthly membership fee for routine maintenance and following their recommendations for system upgrades over the years. Over the past couple of years, the tone shifted from routine service to aggressive, high-pressure tactics from technicians insisting I replace a 10-year-old unit that was running without issue.

During a recent routine check-up, the technician again pushed for a full replacement. Immediately after that technician left my property, the unit completely stopped working.

When I contacted ARS to fix the sudden failure, I was told the unit could not be repaired and was quoted thousands of dollars for full replacement options to resolve an issue caused during their own visit. The failure left my home without air conditioning for a week during severe heat, leading to severe health complications for my tenants.

ARS repeatedly failed to resolve the issue. I was forced to hire an independent, licensed HVAC company to perform emergency repairs. The independent technician diagnosed the problem as a refrigerant leak resulting directly from physical tampering at the service valves.

When I escalated this with ARS management—providing full details and giving them an opportunity to review the damage and reimburse the out-of-pocket repair costs—their Quality Assurance department dismissed the claim and refused to take any responsibility. To make matters worse, they continued to bill my monthly membership fee even after explicit cancellation requests.

If you value honest service, equipment integrity, and basic customer support, avoid ARS Rescue Rooter. They will compromise functional equipment to generate multi-thousand-dollar sales leads, leave you stranded in dangerous heat, and walk away from the damage they cause. Formal complaints have been submitted to state licensing boards and consumer protection agencies. Save yourself the headache and hire an honest local contractor instead.

I have an old house with old pipes

I have an old house with lots of old pipes that can leak at any time. I had Terry come out again to do the same fix as he did with the cold water pipe except this is pre leak. Terry is very knowledgeable and trustworthy. He did an excellent job. I will use him and the company over and over again with my future plumbing jobs

Stay away from this place

Stay away from this place.
I contacted them through Home Depot and made a complaint 8/17 and still haven’t received my diagnostic refund.
This is a horror nightmare.
(Terrible) below is the email I sent to management @ Home-depot to block this service.

Hello
This is. Mike
My wife and I have our AC man out at the house. He look over everything and diagnosis our system.
It isn't the control board which the home
Depo contractor (Ars) was saying and trying to get me to pay 1900.00 ( adding discounts)
My AC person said the problem is the blower total cost for repairs 540.00.
I would like you to forward this email to your manager and tell them I want a full refund on the Homedepo contractor who came out to my house past Saturday.
