Very poor in case of breakdown outside big city
This is the second time we have needed to use this insurance after a breakdown, and the second time the service has been absolutely appalling.
We spent hours on the phone, being passed from one person to another, repeating the same information over and over again, without ever getting a clear answer or an actual solution. In the end, despite paying a lot for this level of cover, we are basically left to sort everything out ourselves.
Having lived in several other countries, I find the level of service here honestly shocking. Elsewhere, when our car broke down, it was towed to a garage close to where we lived, a courtesy car could be arranged, and depending on the policy, some repair costs were even covered. Here, getting a straight and coherent answer already seems to be too much to ask.
The most frustrating part is constantly being sent around in circles on the phone by people who do not seem to know what they can offer, cannot make a decision, and never give you any reliable information. Meanwhile, you are stuck with an unusable car and somehow expected to figure out the rest yourself.
For the price we pay, we expected at the very least a competent, organised service that actually helps customers when they need it. That is absolutely not what we have received, and two experiences like this are more than enough.
We will now seriously be looking for another insurance company. A service this poor when you are stranded and actually need assistance is simply unacceptable.
No logic!
My 30 year old son who I need to be on my policy has caused me to be charged 30 euro because he is a named driver and is apparently too young . - ridiculous -this very nearly caused me to not send my business to you but I was so run down with all nonsense and questions - I gave up . . I guess all the insurance companies play these games . Particularly the gauging of repeat customers. Why not look after repeat customers. I know next year when you put up the premium I will be going elsewhere ( again!).so tedious .

I have sent my no claims certificate to…
I have sent my no claims certificate to them 2 times. And everytime it has been a different complaint back. One complaint, was on the bottom of the cert it say it cant be use ive literally spend hours looking for it on the bottom of the cert and have also got others to look in case im missing it,nothing on it. Its the no claims cert my last insurance company has giving me. Ive contacted them and they have sent the same one and also emailed me. They then say I have until the 6th to give them my no claims even though I have giving it. Whats the game. I will never go with the company again yes they may be cheap but it not worth the hassle. I would rather they cancel my policy and I will go some where else. I will also not be renewing my home insurance with them.

Good value for money
Good value for money. I rang to clarify a few mattes and the agent (Derek) was very helpful.
Absolutely the worst insurance…
Absolutely the worst insurance experience I’ve ever had.
You honestly might not believe this, but a year ago my car was seriously damaged by another vehicle while it was parked. A YEAR later, Allianz still hasn’t managed to recover the money from the other driver’s insurance.
Every time I called, I was told to “wait until next week”, and then the same thing would happen again. Their Recovery team has been unbelievably inefficient and completely incapable of getting the claim resolved. There seems to be absolutely no urgency or accountability, and I’ve had to keep chasing them myself just to get basic updates.
They are very quick to take your money, but when it comes to actually dealing with a claim and recovering the costs, they are painfully slow, unhelpful and completely ineffective.
After this experience, I would never recommend Allianz to anyone.

Worst insurance company in Ireland
The worst insurance company in Ireland. Think twice before spending a single penny with them. You won’t realize how terrible they are until you actually have to make a claim.
Update: Following a response from Allianz.ie:
Stop pretending that you’re nice and that you actually care!!! I made a formal complaint six months ago and was told I’d get a response within four to six weeks, but I still haven’t heard anything!!! I’ve had enough of the lies from Allianz over the past 13 months!!! The case was crystal clear, and the other driver accepted 100% liability, but somehow you still couldn’t resolve it after 13 months. If you can’t handle a straightforward case like this, I can’t even imagine how you deal with more complicated cases or support your customers when things actually go wrong!

The best car insurance company on the Irish market. I've been with Allianz for over a decade, and they've never let me down.

I chose Allianz Ireland for two main…
I chose Allianz Ireland for two main reasons:
A. Competitive pricing and the reputation of a globally recognised company.
B. I had previously been insured by Allianz in my home country before relocating to Ireland, so I expected a similar level of service and reliability.
Unfortunately, my experience with Allianz Ireland has been extremely disappointing.
I was given very short notice that my insurance could be cancelled unless I obtained a confirmation email from my previous insurer verifying the authenticity of a document issued in English by Allianz Greece.
I was also formally informed by post that I would have to return the insurance disc and the other legal documents if this matter was not resolved.
It has now been a week since I received the request for confirmation, and I have been continuously contacting my previous insurance company to try to obtain the required email. I have also spoken with several Allianz representatives, but despite my efforts, I have not been given a clear update or a practical solution.
Even today, after forwarding the requested email to Allianz, I received no answer to my simple question: What is the current status of my case?
What I find particularly frustrating is the logic of the process. If Allianz requires confirmation from the company that originally issued the document, why doesn't Allianz contact that company directly, rather than placing the entire burden on the customer?
This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I have had while trying to resolve a straightforward administrative issue.
1 star for the reasonable pricing. The service and communication need significant improvement.

Simple process
The completion of the application was simple and straightforward. I deducted one star as the site was unhappy at some point and repeatedly reported missing information that I could not find. Otherwise all good and a great rate.
I have had my home policy with this…
I have had my home policy with this company for a number of years. Recently I entered a competition on their Rewards section and today received an email to say I had won a prize and to claim by clicking a link. Having done so it didn't show any voucher or claim form. I have spent a considerable amount of time sending emails to them as well as screenshot but no cigar. I have now had to log this as a complaint as it is not good enough to put a client through this rigmarole. Hope others don't have the same experience!
