Just making hype on their site by using…

Just making hype on their site by using successful music artists. Allow bots to spam thousands hateful comments without moderating them. In other hands deleting good reviews by users. 100%biased with clear bad intentions. I would not recommend visiting and using this site.

As an expert...

Been there for multiple years and it's a really good and well put together website. It's great for adding, cataloging and even preserving music. It has a very diverse rating mechanic, good genre picks/discovery mechanics and an all around good community. Would definitely recommended as the best music rating site on the internet.

Trash 4Chan-level site for Music Review

Terrible site for having a decent conscience about finding new music or searching the music you love. Community full of Twittards and 4chaners that hate bomb every single new release with zero objective critical thinking skills or genuine knowledge of musical elements. You lose part of your faith in humanity every single time you go on this website because they don't moderate any of the unnecessarily hateful comments at all.

Removes ratings

Several people in a fanclub was commenting and rating, only to see that many of the ratings they left simply disappeared. And this happened repeatedly. So, why would this happen? Why aren’t they operating honestly and transparent? Hard to say.

The best site for music reviewing.

The best site for music reviewing. I have been using albumoftheyear.org for quite some time now and it has been a great experience. Well made website, friendly community, and lots of great features. Features such as lists, recommendations, tags, and others are really useful for music reviewing. The site also has a great mix of serious in depth reviews along with some that just funny. The discord is a great place with an active community and a direct line of communication with the owner. You can suggest features, report bugs, and get support very quickly which is quite impressive for a website ran by one person. I saw the other review complaining about that if you get locked out of a google account that you're screwed, but that's not true, you can have an old account merged to a new one upon request. The feature is in place to stop botting/spammers and it does a great job at it.
Overall this is by far my favorite music reviewing websites and one of my most used websites as a whole.

You're Screwed if You're Locked Out of Your Google or Facebook Account

Google is notorious for locking people out of their accounts with horrible customer "support" service. That applies to Facebook as well. So, if your account is locked from either of those platforms, then good luck trying to review albums on this website. Because this website only lets you sign into a Facebook or Google account. Which lets me know people who own AlbumOfTheYear.org do not care about user friendliness on their website. Their attempt at preventing spammers only prevents real people from reviewing music when their accounts from Google and Facebook get locked out without proper customer support service from either platform. Google and Facebook are a privacy nightmare controlled by governments that track citizens through online surveillance. Which is very creepy on my end. So, I would rather not log into an account on this website at all. Because I don't trust governments and these "social" media service providers requiring phone numbers anymore. I just want people to politely mind their own business instead of prying into my personal life for profit or political power. The internet world was so much more privacy-friendly until these tyrants and greedy conmen started making it harder for people to have online anonymity.
