Terrible glasses

These are the worse glasses I have ever had in my life. I have bifocals and they are up way to high, if I don't look straight ahead it is all fuzzy. I can't look to my side because all fuzzy I spend 90% of my time just trying to look clearly out of my glasses. Either the ones working there or the company are just no good and don't know their job.

I went to Americas Best for eye exam…

I went to Americas Best for eye exam and new glasses. When I picked them up the fames felt crooked. They adjusted them and off I went. Shortly after having them I noticed spots and blotches on the lens. I went back and they said that they were scratched and the coating was coming off. They replaced them and when I went to pick them up I asked them how to clean the lenses. They told me and I didn’t as they instructed. I got scratches again and after 3 months they weren’t going to do anything about them. The person I talked with said that she needed to get the bosses approval. She returned from her boss who said that they were not going to do anything to fix the problem. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone. It’s a waste of money and time that a company has such a terrible product that they only guarantee it for 30 days. I guess in today’s times you get what you pay for, I used my insurance and who knows what they actually charged for one pair of glasses that are worthless and damaging your eyes after 30 days. I will be posting reviews on every social media and filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Companies like this should be ashamed and banned from doing business with consumers and taking advantage of them.

Underhanded Practices

My experience with this location has been highly disappointing and frustrating. I've had the run around from the start and now it seems there are fruadulent charges billed to my insurance. I would like to forewarn anyone who may have Florida State Employee benefits to avoid this location. I visited this location initially back in June 2026 for an exam. Right away, I had issues with my contact prescription not being correct and had to return a total of three times. After the third time I encountered Evan, who tried aggressive upselling tactics attempting me to spend unnecessary money when I only wanted basic glasses. I didn't bother ordering contacts or glasses because America's Best staff in Leesburg seemed unclear as to how the Florida State Employee plan works and how to apply the benefits to my purchase. They were more than willing to upsell items and have me pay outrageous amounts out of pocket.

Over the weekend (August 2026) I decided to go into LensCrafters and saw glasses I wanted to purchase. To my suprise, they told me that my benefit was already used by America's Best on the day I met with Evan. When I reached out to Evan to inquire about these charges, his response was that he "miscalculated the copay," and that there was an authorization on my account even though I have not ordered anything or anticipated any future orders through them. I paid a cash copay, in full on the day of the exam. If there was a miscalculation of the copay, the appropriate thing to do would be to notify the client seeing that it would be unethical to make additional charges to the insurance without giving notice. In an underhanded manner, Evan carelessly authorized additional charges I was not aware of for services and/or items I never received. I will be looking into this more with the appropriate governing body. I feel it is necessary to share what my experience has been with incompetent staff at this location, store 4190.

Save yourself some stress!! Find somewhere else to do buissness

The office staff was courteous and very friendly. Customer interaction I would give a 5 star rating. It’s only after you leave the store that the trouble starts. Texts to come get glasses only to find out they are not your glasses. Somehow they lost them and will have to reorder. But they lead you along by “yours should be here this afternoon” and it takes 2 more trips to get the truth, and we don’t live in the city where the office is at. Most of all it’s my 2nd visit to this place and it must be a common thing because the exact thing happened my 1st visit.

They Wrongfully Cancel Appointment!

I had an eye appointment at 5:30pm on the 28th. During a thunderstorm I call to possibly cancel. Stated that if I wasn't there by 5:30 my appointment can be canceled. At 5:15pm I received notification my appointment was canceled, mind you I was literally 3 minutes away from them. When I called them back I was told "unfortunately the Dr doesn't have time to prepare" excuse me! But my appointment was at 5:30pm. How can that be. I will never go back to America Best again. This not how you treat a someone.

$600, 8 month old glasses frame is peeling; NOT warranted

Purchase glasses in December 2025 for $600. Eight months later, I noticed the metal frame is discolored and they are not under warranty. I have been wearing glasses for decades and any other place I bought glasses The frames and lenses were guaranteed for one year without buying extra coverage.
I do not recommend Americas Best eyeglasses. I wish I could add a picture but I don’t see where that’s possible on this website.

RESTORING MY CONFIDENCE AT AMERICA'S BEST HAD A GOOD OUTCOME TODAY

I went back today to America's best to try to resolve my problems. I had yesterday. All of the problems were resolved. They were very kind to me today. I did let them know who it was. She was there and that they did their best to make my glasses fit. Give me a proper case for my glasses. So I do have to say that they did resolve all of my problems

Where’s my eye glasses

I had my eye exam over 4 weeks ago. I brought in my eyeglass frames from a previous prescription there over 2 years prior that I never wore for the prescription was off. 2 weeks after exam and prescription for new glasses, I received a text the glasses were ready. When I went into the store and put them on the left prescription side was way off and the associate there confirmed that then said she will send them in for correction. It’s now been over 4 weeks since first exam and prescription and still no glasses. I will never return to this business again for I have had 2 mishandled prescriptions in over 2 years time and I will seek another optometrist. Sad thing is that I am only allowed a certain amount of money per year on my Medicare plan for eye exams and glasses which I had to pay an additional out of pocket funds to fulfill this order. So far this order is yet to be completed and no eyeglasses 🤨🤬

DO NOT GO HERE

Update: Its August and I still haven't gotten a refund. It's been one excuse after another. Multiple calls to corporate, the GM and the DM. The DM, Michael, even had a audacity to actual say "the check is in the mail. In 7 to 10 days you should receive it. We'll that was two weeks ago. Then I was told another week. My credit card info was stolen and compromised two days after I was forced to give them my info over the phone for the anti glare they failed to add. Didn't use this card anywhere else! This entire store needs to be shut down.

One star IS TO MANY!!!!
Do NOT waste your money. This place is terrible. They have no idea what their doing. I went back in the beginning of Feb. Didn't receive my glasses (2 for $95) until mid March. They were completely wrong. The prescription wasn't even close. Had them sent back and remade (mind you I have now paid close to $500 - for a 2 for $95 deal) waited another 2 weeks. The script is still wrong. Half of my lenses do not even have an active script. My bifocals aren't aligned correctly. I do not have anti glare but yet they keep gaslighting me telling me I do. I paid for it though. Told me my vision is blurry because I have dry eye. I humored them and used eye drops, no change ... still blurry vision. Went back again. They tried to charge me AGAIN!!! Asked to have a manager call or for them to refund all my money. CRICKETS!!!!

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!
DO NOT GO HERE!!!
DO. NOT. GO. HERE!!!!

Terrible

Terrible. I was trying to order online and submitted my prescription and did everything I needed to do. The next day I received an email that my order was canceled. So I called customer service and we filled in the blank that she said was missing. Long story short: this happened three days in a row. Had to call them each time and was given a different reason each time. I was finally told today that I couldn’t place my online order because I needed a “segment type” that was only available to obtain at the store. I was trying to use the online coupon as going to the store was costing much more for the glasses I wanted. Online cost was $192. The store quoted me a price of $444. Color me frustrated that it took so long for them to supposedly figure this out. I do not recommend this company.

Lens coating failing after 3 months!

My family has been using them for years. Recently their lens quality has gone downhill. I purchased glasses 3 months ago with an anti glare protection added for night driving. I am very careful when cleaning my glasses and the coating is already coming off after 3 months! I can't even use them anymore. I had corporate reached out to the manger at that location and they would not stand by their product! They only offered a small discount to replace them. I would avoid purchasing from America's Best!
