The door failed to open when I tried to collect my parcel. I called the number on the screen pad and followed the instructions over the phone and I can say from then on it was as easy as taking candy from a baby!

I rent two units one of which had my prized Sneakers collection going back 20years. Over the Easter weekend my unit was emptied of all my entire sneakers collection including dress shoes from Clarks essentially ANYTHING that was in a shoe box was taken. Including my wife’s shoes too. Nearly 250 pairs ALL gone by one of their customers caught on CCTV. And all I got from the manager at my Crane BLVD branch was a shrug and told report it to the police and file your claim. Police have been sitting on the report since Tuesday noon and Shurgard’s insurers Marsh, based out of Belgium have disclaimed my claim. Apparently I was not to have stored anything of sentimental or irreplaceable value in the locker that they’ve just sent me an invoice for this morning to rub salt into the wound!!!! Be careful and read the small print guys!!! These companies are ALL cut from the same immoral cloth!!! Disgusting and disgraceful way to treat their customers!!! Utterly immoral!!!

Do not be fooled by the request for my details etc believing Shurgard went on to contact me and offer an apology or resolution of sorts. I can co firm that I immediately emailed them and gave my telephone number on the day they requested it. And lo and behold, it’s now 18/04/26 and I’ve not heard anything from anyone at Shurgard!!! Not a pipsqueak, no apology, no explanation as to how this thief somehow knew that of the 800 units at the site, ONLY my unit, was the worthy one to rob!!! He could only have been fed this nugget of information by an insider!!! Were it not for Suffolk Constabulary dragging their feet with the investigation they might unearth something disturbing about this whole theft!!!

So the long and short is Shurgard promise you your treasured goods will be safe in their custody but nothing could be further from the truth. Not only will your precious personal items get stolen by one of their very own customers….the insurance they pressure sell you is about as useful and helpful as a £3 note!!!!

I called for a quote and selected option 1 to be quoted for a loft fit….phone rang and rang and rang!! Guess they’re too busy to take on new customers!

Registered with some skepticism as I’ve gotten wary over the years of rogue traders. I was however pleasantly surprised at the calibre of respondents and fair quotes I received.

I went with the most competitive trader who also happened to be so good and prompt that I’ve provisionally booked him for a second visit.

Scammers!!!! I also wish I’d read the reviews before renting a car from these scammers!!! Rented a car to collect at Łódź. No office at Łódź and was advised to wait outside the airport and collect the car from the roadside!! Should have realised by then this was the start of the scam!!
Dropped off car as agreed but advised to leave it in the parking lot and leave keys in centre console as something had come up and agent couldn’t meet us. LO and behold a few hours later there’s 2 emails advising me of OVER PLN 2000 charged to my credit card in addition to the £900 taken as damage deposit. Apparently there was a small dent about 3mm wide and a chip about 1mm and a fine scratch on the front bumper (I note they charged another customer for this same scratch in another review reporting a similar scam on this site).

Please please avoid. I’ve raised a case with my credit card company, Booking.com and next I’m going to report them to the authorities for insurance fraud!! They have to be stopped and dealt with as this gives Poland a BAD name. My wife and in-laws are VERY embarrassed as well as angry that a fellow countryman should conspire to defraud her husband visiting their country and giving Poland a bad image. Thanks to these idiotic cowboys!!!

Update #1.
So as per Carwiz’s invitation, I emailed them last week 17/03/25 asking for a refund of my money and explaining why I was entitled to my refund. I explained that they were fraudulently charging me for damage they’d already tried to charge someone else as well! To date….RADIO SILENCE!! They did not even respond to say, thank you and we are looking into it!!

These are the actions of SCAMMERS!!! I will continue to expose them. Next stop is OLAF!!!

I fell for this scam so please read and don’t fall for it yourself. I foolishly ordered 5 of the flashlights at a generous discount only to find they’d sneaked in a Continuous Payment Authority scam of £4.99 per item as extended warranty to be paid every month thereafter. Lucky I saw this and cancelled the order via PayPal. They are crooks and I told them as such.
