Review of Camping World

Do your homework before going to Camping World for service

I have an older class C RV. My Norcold fridge went out and it had to be replaced. I called Camping World in Albuquerque. I was told that they couldn't order the replacement fridge for me. I had to order it myself at their website. I asked, so I order it online and I just have it shipped to you and you do the install?? I was told yes. So what is the cost for the install? I was quoted a price of almost $3,000 for JUST the labor for the install and that did NOT include the labor cost for the removal of the old unit. That was extra. I was also told that there would also be a shipping fee of over $200, plus sales taxes. Are you kidding me? I ordered the new Norcold fridge (same model) from another online supplier (3 - 5 day ship time) for less than camping world AND the shipping was FREE and no tax. I had an Albuquerque based, certified RV tech come to my home in Santa Fe (no need for the time and gas to go to Albuquerque). He did the removal of the old unit and the install of the new unit for $750 (and that included the trip charge) vs. the minimum $3000 quote from Camping World. Frankly, if Camping World doesn't want to do fridge installs, just don't offer that service but to charge 4 times the going rate is an obvious attempt to rip-off the unsuspecting customer.
