Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Yescapa as a rental platform.
The main reason is the complete lack of useful customer support when something goes wrong. We experienced a serious problem with the camper just one to two hours after handover. We lost two days of our holiday dealing with a leaking water system and the lack of a functioning toilet.
Trying to get help from Yescapa was extremely frustrating. I tried calling, but only reached an automated voicemail. I also tried the contact form without receiving a response. I checked five different Yescapa email addresses, but eventually received replies through only one of them.
Even after explaining the situation in detail and providing all the relevant information, Yescapa was unwilling to offer meaningful assistance. Instead, I received repeated explanations referring to individual paragraphs of the rental agreement, while the actual problem and its impact on our holiday were never properly addressed.
Yescapa is the platform through which the rental is booked and paid for. I expected it to provide some level of support and assistance if things go wrong. Unfortunately, my experience was that once you have a problem, you are essentially left on your own and have to negotiate directly with the owner.
So what is the benefit of using a platform like Yescapa if it does not provide meaningful support when you actually need it?
Based on this experience, I would not use Yescapa again and cannot recommend it to other travellers. The lack of customer support turned an already disappointing rental experience into an even worse one.

Very professional site for camper rental.

Warning!!!
Do NOT use Yescapa!
I rented a campervan through them in September from the 8th to the 21st to travel around Portugal.
The vehicle broke down 5 days into my trip. Yescapa would not refund my remaining 8 days (and my €600 security deposit) of rental until the owner's of the campervan could get their vehicle into a garage and find out the cause of the breakdown (I understand why they would temporarily keep the €600 deposit though). 52 hours later I was back on the road with another campervan rented through Yescapa but from a different owner.
A few days into the continuation of my trip the 'new' campervan had serious issues. It turned out neither of the fans to cool the radiator in the engine bay were working, they had both seized.
I lost another two days sorting this out at a garage. The very same day I had the issue fixed with the second vehicle I received an email from Yescapa, claiming (from the vehicle owner's) that I had:
1: Damaged their vehicle
2: Vomited inside
3: Removed a tail light
Absolutely ludicrous claims!
I have proof that the 'damage' is pre-existing. The photo supplied of 'vomit' is clearly NOT vomit (I mean, who travels around in 30° heat in a vehicle they're also sleeping in and leaves vomit inside? It's ludicrous! Not only that, but I think most people, had they vomited inside, would have the forward thinking to clean it up knowing full well that Yescapa and the vehicle owner have more than €1200 of your money)!
The photos from the recovery driver, taken at the very last time I had any contact with the vehicle clearly show the tail light to be in place.
I have been fighting this for a month since the breakdown (literally a month ago as I post this review) and the claims and mediation team at Yescapa are still apparently 'dealing' with it. Basically they are dragging their feet intentionally and despite obvious evidence I've supplied to them, they appear to just side with the client (the vehicle owner's) and ignore and break their very own terms and conditions, and Portuguese and European law.
I have filed charge back investigation with my bank, reported them to the ECC, filed a complaint with the 'Livro de Reclamaçōes' (a Portuguese consumer body), and am just about to make a report/complaint to the DGCCRF in France (as the HQ of Yescapa is in Bordeaux).
The owners of the vehicle, a Pedro Rogerio and his colleagues David Torres and Pedro Parente are completely crooked, despite having their 'best owner's rating on the Yescapa platform.
Stay WELL CLEAR of these dishonest thieves! Sadly I have to say stay WELL CLEAR of Yescapa too as they do NOTHING to help the customer in these situations by my experience.
I'm absolutely furious with these fraudulent, exploitative, opportunist #+&@'s !!!
PLEASE, I beg you for your own sakes, do NOT use Yescapa!
P.S. I've just seen Yescapa's reply below. Don't believe a word from folks, in all the correspondence dating back more than 6 weeks they've said nothing about having a high volume of claims etc to get through. I've also requested several invoices and other information that they can't even be bothered to reply to. Please check other 1 star reviews. 👍

The system of booking a van and paying for it, before knowing whether it is available is a crazy scenario... the website isnt great and often says page not found.

Very disappointing experience with Yescapa – Booking #3621522
I made a confirmed motorhome booking almost two months in advance. Everything initially looked perfectly fine.
About one week before the rental, the owner informed me that they were having problems with their payment terminal and asked me to pay the security deposit in cash instead. Although this was inconvenient, I accepted the change.
Then, just one day before the scheduled pick-up, the owner informed me that the security deposit would be increased by an additional €300, allegedly because they were having problems with another customer.
The vehicle itself was fully operational. There was no breakdown or mechanical problem communicated to me. The issue was that the owner was changing the financial conditions of an already confirmed booking at the very last minute.
I contacted Yescapa immediately and provided the relevant information from the conversation with the owner. Despite this, Yescapa chose to accept the owner's explanation that the vehicle was unavailable due to a breakdown/accident and considered the cancellation one day before pick-up justified.
This was particularly frustrating because I had explained exactly what had happened and provided the communication showing that the issue was the last-minute change of the rental conditions, not an inoperable vehicle.
Because the cancellation happened only one day before our trip, I was unable to find a suitable replacement motorhome in Málaga. We therefore had to completely change our holiday plans. We also lost the Caminito del Rey tickets we had already booked and paid for, because the original itinerary was no longer possible.
Yescapa did refund the full booking amount, including the insurance, which I appreciate. However, this does not compensate for the disruption caused by cancelling a confirmed booking at the last minute or for the other arrangements and expenses that were already dependent on that booking.
What disappointed me most was Yescapa's handling of the situation. I provided them with the relevant evidence, but they ultimately accepted the owner's version of events without properly addressing the contradictory information in the communication.
Unexpected problems can happen, and I understand that. What I find unacceptable is the lack of meaningful protection for the customer when a confirmed booking is effectively changed or cancelled at the last minute.
Based on this experience, I would be very cautious about relying on Yescapa if a dispute arises between a customer and an owner.

Avoid Avoid Avoid !!!
Where do I start with this company. My initial booking for a motorhome was cancelled a few days later due to the pricing being incorrect. To me the company should take responsibility for this and to stand by the original price as advertised. My second booking was even worse. I made the difficult decision to cancel due to unforseen circumstance. My refund should of been 95% of the booking which was £570. They have said that I'm not intitled to a penny. As far as I can tell this company on coning people out of a significant amount of money. Ombudsman is informed. Do not use this company or do so at your own risk. If I could give this company a 0 I would.

We were handed a vehicle with pre-existing damage (noted by the owner herself on our handover contract), and at the end of the rental they withheld the entire deposit, forcing us to cover repair costs that weren't ours to pay. Completely abusive and disproportionate — they do whatever they want and don't even give you a way to appeal. Would never recommend using this rental platform.
What should have been a carefree holiday, travelling by campervan to see the solar eclipse in August 26 in Portugal/Spain, turned into an exhausting dispute and financial hangover.
Booking 3618218 never took place altho I payed 2300 €!
Following a flight delay of approximately two hours, the landlord immediately invoked a financial claim upon landing for the delay I caused and proved unwilling or unable to agree on a realistic handover time. He indicated that arranging the handover would be very difficult and time consuming, and the first handover time he offered was more than 24 hours after the rental period had started. I disputed the penalty and handover situation and contacted Yescapa for urgent assistance.
Since Yeascapa proved to be unreachable for +15 days, I had to change my travel plans and book alternative accommodation and transport, while leaving the contractual dispute and mediation to Yescapa.
The financial situation is particularly concerning: Yescapa has received approximately €1,085 in rental payments, while the landlord is still withholding €1,200 of my €1,500 security deposit. I never received, saw or drove the vehicle.
After weeks of waiting and repeated attempts by mail and phone to receive a substantive response, Yescapa has stated after one month, that it considers the file closed. It simply states that the ower/yescapa was not responsible for the flight delay and maintains that the 1085€ rental + 1200€ of the deposit is due, without providing any effective mediation, contractual basis or addressing the issues raised in my complaint.
This experience raises serious questions about the protection and mediation Yescapa promises its tenants in its terms and conditions. When a dispute arises, Yescapa appears able to withdraw from the situation while the tenant is left facing substantial financial losses and an unresolved dispute.
I intend to escalate this matter to the appropriate consumer and dispute-resolution authorities. I am also looking to contact other tenants who have experienced similar problems with Yescapa, particularly cases involving a lack of assistance or mediation when things went wrong.
I hope that further scrutiny will encourage Yescapa to take responsibility and demonstrate that its contractual protections and mediation services are genuinely available when they matter.

Our experience with Yescapa was extremely disappointing. What should have been an exciting two-week campervan holiday was effectively ruined after our vehicle broke down just three days into the trip.
We had paid extra for insurance through Yescapa specifically so that we would have support if something went wrong. Unfortunately, the breakdown happened on a Sunday and we were completely unable to get hold of anyone. We were left stranded with no meaningful assistance or guidance at a time when we desperately needed it.
When we eventually managed to make contact the following day, the communication was extremely poor. We were left waiting, chasing for information and largely in the dark about what was happening. Despite having paid for a campervan holiday, Yescapa were unable to provide us with a replacement campervan.
Instead, we were offered a hire car. This was simply not an appropriate replacement for what we had booked. We already had campsites booked for the remainder of our trip and had a significant amount of luggage and camping equipment with us. A hire car did not allow us to continue our holiday as planned.
Ultimately, we had little choice but to accept the car and drive for days back to where our own vehicle was parked. This completely derailed our holiday and resulted in considerable additional stress, disruption and expense.
The problems didn't end when we returned home. We heard nothing from Yescapa for a significant period of time. There is no direct telephone line, and trying to communicate with the company and get answers was incredibly frustrating. After such a stressful experience, the lack of follow-up and communication was completely unacceptable.
Eventually, we received a small amount of money back, but it was nowhere near enough to compensate us for the costs we had incurred. We lost money on campsites that we could no longer use, as well as paying additional costs for tolls, hotels and the journey back to our car. These expenses were a direct consequence of the breakdown and the lack of a suitable replacement campervan.
We appreciate that vehicles can break down — mechanical problems can happen. What we cannot accept is the way the situation was handled. The whole point of paying extra for insurance and booking through a company like Yescapa is to have support when something goes wrong. Instead, we were left stranded, struggled to get anyone to respond, received very poor communication and were ultimately left significantly out of pocket.
The financial loss was disappointing, but the stress, uncertainty and disruption to our holiday were even worse. We spent a substantial part of what should have been a relaxing holiday trying to work out what to do and how to get ourselves home.
For us, this was not simply an unfortunate breakdown. It was the lack of support and the way Yescapa handled the situation afterwards that made the experience so unacceptable.
We would absolutely not book through Yescapa again, and based on our experience, we would strongly advise anyone considering using the service to carefully consider what support they can realistically expect if their campervan breaks down.
Unfortunately, our experience renting a motorhome through Yescapa in Sardinia in August 2026 was very poor. We paid €2,500 for a rental for four people, plus a €1,000 security deposit. During our holiday, we experienced numerous problems:
• The motorhome was delivered uncleaned, and all the equipment appeared to be in a makeshift condition.
• The refrigerator repeatedly failed to cool properly, and we had to throw away a significant amount of food. Even after eight hours without opening it, it still did not cool adequately. Towards the end of the rental, the freezer also stopped working properly.
• The living-area air conditioning repeatedly tripped the circuit breakers when connected to electricity at several different campsites. It worked with the petrol-powered generator, but the generator was so noisy that we could not use it at campsites. At one parking location, a woman even came out of her house and asked us to turn the air conditioning off.
• Although air conditioning was listed in the vehicle description or equipment inventory, we were only told at handover that the cab air conditioning was not working.
• Water repeatedly leaked into the motorhome from underneath the seating area. The owner suggested it might be related to the refrigerator, but the problem was never resolved.
• There was a strong sewage smell in the bathroom and while driving, despite our emptying the grey and black water tanks and using the appropriate toilet chemicals. We were told this was normal. While driving, the smell made it almost impossible to breathe comfortably inside the motorhome.
• The dining table could not be properly secured to the floor and was unstable during normal use. Only after we had handed the motorhome back did the owner show us a very complicated way to secure it. We do not understand why the table was not provided in a stable condition in the first place. It also had visible glue repairs and areas that had been spray-painted.
We reported the problems to the owner during the rental. The response was that this was normal. We discussed the issues again when returning the motorhome. However, no return inspection report was presented to us, completed jointly or signed by both parties, so we had no opportunity to formally record the issues in such a report.
We submitted a written complaint to Yescapa and requested €1,500 in compensation. Our €1,000 security deposit also remained blocked after the motorhome was returned. As of 13 September 2026, one month after the rental ended, the situation is still unresolved.
We are deeply disappointed with both the condition of the vehicle and the outcome of the dispute process through Yescapa so far. For this price, we expected basic equipment that worked and effective support when problems arose. Instead, we spent our holiday dealing with faults and throwing away food, and after returning home we are still dealing with an unresolved complaint and a blocked deposit. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Yescapa.
Une application simple, accessible et rigoureuse dans la contractualisation du contrat de location.

It's a useful application but they don't care about customers. An owner cancelled the reservation few hour before departure. Yescapa disappeared. not a suggestion for replacement, not a discount on the alternative rent i've found.
Also, their fee is huge. A van which you can have privately with 400€, would take 700€ on yescapa
