They have scam advertisements

They have scam advertisements. It happens, but they are not acting to remove them and safe their customers. No response from them at all. Be careful!

Confusing and dishonest

Communication was strange and confusing with multiple payment instructions via different channels. Company neglects to mention extra taxes on booking.com which are taken off by landlord from deposit. Company's representatives lies when the issue was communicated

Usually, the deposit and visitor's tax are collected separately by the host and are not billed to each other. We would therefore be happy to check your booking. They offer apartments in the village of Eulau, and as it turns out, these are photos from apartments in Heiligenhafen. The scam is these offers a few on the booking.com Ferienwohnung-B-3-7-0B0307, Ferienwohnung-B-9-6-0B0906, Ferienwohnung-B-2-2-0B0202 zero telephone contact, zero responses to complaints.

Aufgrund einer technischen Gegebenheiten wurden Unterkünfte in Heiligenhafen fälschlicherweise im Bundesland Sachsen ausgewiesen. Alle betroffenen Gäste wurden in Kenntnis gesetzt. Zudem wurden den Gästen gleichwertige Alternativen angeboten. Die Angelegenheit wurde zwischenzeitlich bereits korrigiert. Die betroffenen Unterkünfte werden nun korrekt dargestellt.

Wir bedauern, dass Ihre Buchung betroffen war und hoffen, dass die angebotenen Alternativen Ihnen zugesagt haben.

Noch einmal möchten wir uns für die entstandenen Unannehmlichkeiten bei Ihnen entschuldigen.

Reality is far from the ad on AirBnB - and the host withholds deposit money because of extra fees that were not informed about up-front

Short version: a) Don't believe the pictures on ads for holiday house, b) AirBnB rules of transferring money directly to host are broken c) and deposit money are not fully returned d) plates, cutlery etc. are not clean (with old food on them) e) WIFI is not functioning properly f) you don't really feel welcome by the host.

Long version:
Against AirBnB philosophy Travanto uses sub-hosts and therefore guest and host cannot communicate through the app. This is by mail and very slow working, with one-two days delay.

The subhost asked for a security deposit (400 Euros) directly to her account, and she has only returned it partly (90 Euros missing) due to rules that were not mentioned on AirBnB profile. (Dogs cost extra and garbage collection is complex and only described in part and in English - if you fail by placing few items in the wrong basket, host withholds 50 Euros).

Pictures on post are misleading - it looks like luxury with nicely made beds, but when we arrived bed linens were not on, it was smelling like an unused garage, and kitchenware was not cleaned, so we had to clean it in order to eat from it. The cows from the main picture in the ad for the house is a mystery - nowhere near to be seen (in July).

The person who owns the place acts as if being a welcoming host is not a priority. We didn't feel welcome, rather there was a long checklist in German as welcome note on the table.

Also, before arrival there was a requirement of sending insurance documentation and ID papers - not very relaxing in your vacation, adding to the SWIFT bank transfer requirement.

Also there were issues with really bad WIFI and a lack of hot water one morning, which was solved quickly - however, as an AirBnB host myself, I would address this in a regretful way, but no mention or apology from the host about that experience.

I have travelled through AirBnB for 7 years with please, but this experience in not recommended.

The value for money is far below category.

However, so that your feedback reaches the landlord, you have the opportunity to write a property review on the respective accommodation page on Travanto.de. You have the option to rate your holiday accommodation after your stay.

So if you would like to give us feedback on our website or the booking process, we would be very happy if you would adjust this rating accordingly.

You can contact the landlord any time to clear up the misunderstanding regarding your deposit.

We are very sorry about the inconvenience.

Lots of confusion / bad service

Lots of confusion. The landlord mails me there is a double booking. Travanto says its not. Another mail it is. What a mess. It was a double booking afterall because someone else is more important than I am. Will never book with Travanto again.

Unfortunately, the occupancy calendar of your chosen accommodation was not updated in time, so that the apartment was unfortunately shown as available, although it was already occupied.

It is very important to us that the occupancy calendars of our accommodations are up to date. Therefore we always remind our landlords to maintain the occupancy calendar and have obligated them to do so in our terms and conditions. However, since the responsibility for updating the occupancy times ultimately lies with the landlord, we can unfortunately only exert limited influence here. We ask for your understanding.

We fully understand your displeasure and would like to apologize to you once again.
