Lately

Lately, YouTube‘s been playing 20 minutes commercials every 10 minutes. Absolute disgusting. 🤮. Keep this up and watch what happens.

YouTube senior management team should be replaced!

YouTube experience has got worse in recent years. Ultimately, this is the fault of YouTube senior management team. There are far too many adverts which wastes everyone's time. Majority of the adverts are scam adverts which are not removed for months.

Ai this Ai that

Youtube has gotten to an abusive amount of advertisements, some advertisements are so much longer, that the video its self feels like its shorter and it is, while you still have to watch 3 other advertisements that are also really long. When you click the skip button, you usually just have to watch another advertisment.

The ai has gotten to a point where it isn’t even acceptable anymore, like 1 ai video every 15 scrolls is acceptable, but thats not the reality no more, all the videos are ai especially the comments. Its not just ai videos and comments, it gotten to ai moderation ai, ai ads, ai likes, ai shares and much more, this is not acceptable at all youtube,

I have so much more to talk about too because youtube has become complete slop.

It profits from users’ anxiety through an abusive amount of advertising!

Horrible. Simply horrible! YouTube was created to democratize content, but with this amount of advertising, it has simply become a money-making machine feeding off users’ anxiety. We’ve reached the point where television has a less abusive relationship with its viewers than YouTube does.

This is a perfect example of how good projects and inventions can become instruments of torture in the hands of those who seek unlimited income and power.

I’ve already left other social media platforms, and now it’s time to say goodbye to YouTube.

YouTube is fast becoming unwatchable due to the frequency of ads. Bad enough on pre-recorded videos, they totally ruin live feeds, and they have the cheek to want £12.99 a month for ad free content !
Scandalous !

I really don’t like the video games and YouTube shorts and even though every time I hit “not interested” they keep popping up. Another thing I don’t like is the uselessness of the dislike button EVERYWHERE. Commenting a negative review just brings a bad creator more engagement so we’re enticed to not give our opinions. But I like most videos on the platform.

YouTube's downfall

YouTube has became worse of worsts. Very dark psychological tricks to force you buying premium. Advertisings are more frequent than ever. I sincerely wish for downfall of this company, if such persists I'll be willing to quit this app forever even if there's no replacement.

Horrible platform to some creators!

Everything started well with YouTube back in 2011 when I created my channel, until a shift in its algorithm destroyed my channel. I was almost at the point where I could have quit my day job because of the ad revenue generated, but then they had a policy change, and an algorithm tweak and my uploads went from hundreds of thousands of views per video, with some also reaching millions per video, to now just two to five thousand views per video if I am lucky, and yet they, YouTube, tell me they have not done anything to affect my channel. NOT TRUE! I long for a viable alternative to YouTube. I no longer respect or like using it now.

Shape youngest mindset and perception of the world in a very unhealthy way

I have to say that I do enjoy watching YouTube, and there is still a lot of useful and entertaining content on the platform. However, there are two major things I dislike about it, and these issues make the overall experience much less attractive.

The first is the way its recommendation system interprets our viewing behaviour. YouTube seems to assume that we agree with the views, ideas, or mindset expressed in a video simply because we watched it. Even if we open a video accidentally and close it immediately, YouTube may still assume that we are interested in that type of content and continue recommending similar videos.

Once, I accidentally opened a video of a person behaving aggressively and shouting at others for no clear reason. Within a few hours, my entire homepage was filled with similar videos showing people fighting, arguing, and behaving violently.

As adults, we understand that such behaviour represents only a very small percentage of the population. However, when our homepage is filled with this type of content, it creates the impression that the world is full of aggressive and unreasonable people.

Adults may be able to judge such content critically, but what about young people? YouTube’s recommendation system may shape their mindset and perception of the world in a very unhealthy way.

The second problem is YouTube’s acceptance of questionable sponsored advertisements.

I have seen many similar advertisements claiming that a government official posted something on social media and quickly removed it. The advertisement then suggests that the official accidentally revealed a “secret” way of making money that only a small group of people knew about.

Eventually, these advertisements lead viewers to an external website. I researched one of these websites and found many negative reviews. The website claimed to offer extremely high investment returns that appeared far too good to be true.

Advertisements like these use the image or reputation of public officials to create false credibility and pressure viewers into acting quickly. This is especially dangerous for younger people, older people, or anyone who may not recognise common signs of an investment scam.

YouTube should have a stronger responsibility to review the advertisements it accepts. A sponsored label does not make misleading or potentially fraudulent content acceptable.

I have now turned off my watch history. However, once I did that, my homepage became completely empty, and YouTube stopped recommending videos based on my interests. This makes the option to select our interests on YouTube seem almost pointless.

These two issues have made me seriously consider whether I should continue using YouTube at all.
