Atrocious experience.
I had a flight from Rome to Paris (ORL) in October. They cancelled my flight on 'weather reasons' around 4am, while the flight was supposed to be at 10am.
Without asking, they changed the flight to another, 30h later, which is completely ridiculous.
Then, I tried calling them, and the number they have was not on service. With the website, impossible to contact them without a 3-5 days delay.
So, I had to pay another flight that was 5x the price. THE RIDICULOUS THING IS ALL THE PRICY FLIGHT AVAILABLE WERE LITERALLY AT THE SAME TIME AND DESTINATION OF THE ORIGINAL FLIGHT (Paris), THAT WAS CANCELLED FOR ''WEATHER REASON''. NOT ONLY ARE THEY SCAMMING YOU, BUT THEY LIE TO AVOID REIMBURSEMENT AND TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY.
That is why I am making a formal complaint to the NEB (Organisme national d'application). I kept all documents as proof...
BY FAR THE WORST AVIATION COMPANY IN THE BUSINESS. NEVER BUY WITH THEM.
Corporate Fascism
Our Maxi-Cosi infant car seat came back broken after a Transavia flight from Rhodes to Amsterdam on 18 October. The internal foam liner had snapped. I supplied photographs and submitted a compensation claim for €85.
Transavia requested specialist documentation. They subsequently offered to reimburse reasonable assessment and related costs, but I would still have to find a specialist, arrange everything, potentially pay upfront and submit more paperwork.
I asked them to arrange the assessment themselves if they considered it necessary. Their response left the arrangements with me.
For an €85 claim, the administrative burden is absurd. Offering reimbursement does not compensate for the time and effort required to organise the entire process.
To me, this feels like corporate fascism in miniature: the company dictates the process, the customer carries the burden, and common sense disappears behind paperwork. It feels like dealing with Dr Evil’s henchmen—polite apologies while enforcing a process that makes giving up the easier option.
I have decided to stop pursuing the claim because my time is worth more than this bureaucratic exercise. That does not mean the damage was resolved or that I am satisfied.
Whatever the intention behind the policy, the outcome is that I walk away with a broken car seat and Transavia pays nothing.
An €85 saving, at the cost of a customer’s trust.
Advice for future travelers
I will start with the positives. My flight from Barcelona to Rotterdam (BCN-RTM) was on time, had no delays, and landed as planned. The aircraft seemed a bit dated, but overall it was fine.
Regarding luggage, Transavia’s online policy appears stricter than that of other airlines. I initially paid for a cabin bag and a personal item, only to realize that the combined weight limit for both pieces is just 10 kg. Since a standard carry-on suitcase weighs 2–3 kg on its own, this felt quite restrictive, so I decided to pay nearly €40 extra to check a 15 kg bag.
However, when I arrived at the airport to check my cabin-sized bag, the Transavia staff told me that I could have taken it onboard. When I explained that my backpack and suitcase combined exceeded the weight limit, they reassured me that the weight isn't what matters—it is all about the dimensions. This was confirmed at the gate, where no one weighed the bags as long as they fit the size requirements.
My advice to fellow travelers is not to worry too much about the cabin baggage weight limit. As long as your backpack and suitcase fit the dimensions specified on their website, that is more than enough.
AVOID AT ALL COST
AVOID AT ALL COST! They delayed my flight for an hour just so they could measure all bags and charge 80€ penalty fees for bags about a centimeter to big. Then they force you to check the bag in and subsequently also lose the bag. NEVER fly this airline.

I got a message through a Facebookgroup that a flight I booked on was cancelled. Called Transavia reservations, it turned out I had been rebooked on an inbound flight that left before my outbound stretch. The ladies I spoke to had no clue what they had to do. I wanted them to book me on an inbound three days later than my original one, but they couldnot do that, although there were seats for sale on the internet. So I booked another ticket and will have to claim the extra expenses. No apologies or anything.
One day later I recieved a mail from HV that I had been rebooked as mentioned, useless.
Shit happens but you can still handle it properly.

Svetlana Jumagalieva. After I paid, the amount was blocked on my Visa, but I didn’t receive a booking confirmation by email or text. I didn’t know whether the booking had gone through or whether I should cancel and try again. I was worried I might have used a fake website.
I had to remove my eSIM and use my regular phone service, which cost me $15 per day in roaming charges. I tried calling, but I was kept on hold listening to music from 10:07 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. I wrote to you yesterday, and today I received the confirmation three times.
DO NOT USE!
DO NOT USE!
- no legroom on board
- very slow and ineffective staff both check in and boarding
- long delays with no information
- change the length of the delay after the flight to avoid paying compensation
Nog erger als Ryan-Air
Uneducated staff
Uneducated staff, no priority for small kids, enough stupid to board a plane one hour before it is supposed to and then discover once inside the plane that they cannot take off for other two hours.
Also expensive for no reason and the interiors look like a tourism South American plane in the 70’s.
RIDICULOUS COMPANY
Title: Extremely stressful overbooking experience — we were told we might not be allowed to board
Our experience with Transavia was incredibly stressful and unacceptable.
We had purchased our tickets with cabin baggage included and arrived at the airport expecting to travel as planned. However, when we went to check in and obtain our boarding passes, we were told that the flight had been overbooked and that there might not be seats available for us.
We were shocked. The staff told us that even if we had arrived and checked in, we might not be able to board if all the other passengers showed up. We were told that we might have to wait for a later flight, if seats were available.
What made this even more frustrating was that we were only the fifth people in the queue. Despite this, we had to spend approximately two hours waiting in extreme uncertainty, not knowing whether we would be able to reach our destination.
Eventually, we were given boarding passes without seat numbers. We then had to rush anxiously towards the departure gate, still unsure whether we would actually be allowed onto the plane. Even at the gate, we had to wait nervously for a long time before, fortunately, two available seats were finally found and we were able to board.
This was not just an inconvenience. We had to leave the European Union the following day, and missing this flight could have seriously disrupted our travel plans and created significant complications regarding our scheduled departure. We were left worrying about the potential consequences of something entirely outside our control.
Passengers purchase tickets because they expect to travel on the flight they have booked. Being told at check-in that you may have no seat, spending two hours in uncertainty, and receiving boarding passes without assigned seats is an extremely stressful experience.
Although we eventually managed to board, that does not excuse the anxiety and uncertainty we were forced to endure. A successful outcome should not mean that passengers have to accept such an upsetting experience.
Transavia needs to improve how it manages overbooked flights, communicates with passengers, and handles situations where confirmed travellers may not have seats available.
We paid for our tickets and arrived as required. We should not have had to spend hours worrying about whether we would be allowed to travel at all. I sincerely hope other passengers do not have to go through the same experience.

I am extremely disappointed with our recent experience with Transavia.
We were travelling as a family with our six-year-old daughter and unfortunately arrived a few minutes late for boarding. Although I fully understand that airlines have boarding deadlines and rules to follow, I was very disappointed by the lack of flexibility and understanding shown towards a family travelling with a young child.
We were refused boarding by camila figueiredo and informed that we would have to purchase completely new tickets, resulting in unexpected additional expenses, stress and frustration.
I understand that rules are necessary, but I also believe that good customer service should involve empathy, compassion and a willingness to explore possible solutions, especially when young children are involved.
What disappointed me most was not simply missing the flight, but feeling that there was no flexibility or alternative assistance offered to help our family in a difficult situation.
This experience has seriously affected my confidence in Transavia, and I would think twice before choosing this airline again.
I hope Transavia takes customer feedback seriously and considers how families with young children are treated in these situations.
4.5 hours delay
Booked a flight from Paris to Pisa with Transavia — flight TO 3848, 9 October 2026.
Total delay: 4.5 hours.
In that time we boarded twice, spent about 1.5 hours sitting on the plane, were told the flight was cancelled, then told it would go ahead after all — and were refused a meal voucher while waiting at the gate. The one positive: a free meal was offered on board once we finally took off.
On top of that, the day before the flight, Transavia sent an email saying another airline would be operating it. That turned out to be a false alarm.
Do not book with this company if you value your time. And if your flight arrives more than three hours late, go to their website and claim — €250 or more, depending on the distance.

Excellent service and genuine care from Transavia!
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Transavia for their outstanding service and care.
While on holiday in Lisbon, my wife was involved in a car accident on the Friday, just one day before our scheduled flight. As a result, she was struggling to walk and move around, which made travelling through the airport quite challenging.
We contacted Transavia via WhatsApp to request wheelchair assistance at the airport. When we checked in online, we were pleasantly surprised to see that they had arranged the requested assistance and had also allocated us seats in a row close to the door, making things easier for her given her situation.
We were genuinely touched by the thoughtfulness and care they showed. They didn’t just respond to our request for assistance; they also took an extra step to make our journey as comfortable as possible during a very difficult time.
It is moments like these that really make a difference. We anre incredibly grateful to the Transavia team for their understanding, kindness, and excellent customer service. They truly went above and beyond our expectations.
Thank you, Transavia, for showing such care and making a stressful situation a little easier. It is greatly appreciated!
Worst company to fly with!
Worst company to fly with!! Used to fly in the past because of lower prices. After a trip where they didnt let us through for a few cm more on our backpack we havent chosen them again. I would rather pay more and have a comfortable travel. Booked again after years cuz i didnt need a laguage and it was a last minute important situation. Again issues for any small thing. Soon they will also charge you for the clothes you are wearing!!
