Too expensive and too impersonable (ruthless)

Too expensive and too impersonable (ruthless). I consistently have better experiences with other FX firms. The icing on the cake is receiving an email from them advising:

"As part of our transition to Corpay Cross-Border Solutions, we are reviewing our client portfolio, the services we provide, and the commercial viability of those relationships. After careful review, we have determined that we will no longer be able to service your foreign exchange and payment needs and will be closing your account.

This decision has not been taken lightly; however, this is a final decision and cannot be appealed."

So after all the trouble you have to go through to set up an account with them (providing documents such as passport copy and proof of address), if you don't give them enough business to be "commercially viable" in their opinion, they'll non-negotiably close your account.

Helpful and professional, disappointed rate ( which i accepted) from cyprus to Britain euro at .86 on internet received .84 ish informed it was the buy / sell rate, but expected more. Previous discussions on phone the rate was always the same as the internet ?
To reiterate Very helpful, apart from resulting rate though.

Customer Focused, Pragmatic and Trustworthy

Customer Focused, Pragmatic and Trustworthy.
Lauren’s team helped us to transfer our UK house sale proceeds to Australia at a very competitive rate. Don’t bother with your own bank, who’ll overcharge you and take much longer, use Global Reach instead.
Make sure to do your own due diligence, to give you peace of mind. I’m so glad we did, we saved a lot of money by using GR, helped us buy our dream home in Australia. Thanks Lauren.

Excellent service and best exchange rates

I have used my trading account with Global Reach a number of times in the last few years, I find them to be very courteous and professional, as well as offering their Best Rate Guarantee, and an extremely swift and efficient service.

I engaged Global Reach to exchange GBP…

I engaged Global Reach to exchange GBP to USD for an amount above 500k GBP. I would not use them again. The rate I got was approximately 1.27 when the spot rate was 1.29. That spread of 2 cents with hindsight seems terrible value. I assumed that Global Exchange which markets itself on giving good rates would be upfront on the huge spread, but they weren't. I did challenge them on it aftewards and they said they'd "sharpen their pencils" next time to get a better spread for me. I wouldn't have minded so much at that Global Exchange essentially made 10k USD straight off the bat, with very little work. but the customer service was terrible. I was transferrring the 500k in 50k chunks over 10 days and Global Exchange were meant to transfer the USD amounts back to me. After almost every transfer I had to chase Global Reach Down to ask where are my USD. Sometimes I had to chase twice. Sometimes I got apologies. Sometimes not. This was nerve wracking. Eventually I got the full funds but not without numerous e-mails, phone calls etc and when they are making 10k I expect better than that.

In short, they were poor value, offered poor customer service and I certainly will not be using them again.

Lost trust

I made a contract to buy usd and to have them sent to an eBay seller for a vehicle. 14 days later and the money has yet to arrive with the vendor. $22,000 of my money sitting somewhere and this shower are unable to tell me where or why this has happened. I have used them previously but all trust has gone now. Poor response to emails, no one gets back when they promise to and questions remain unanswered.

Dear Mr Rice,

We would like to apologise for your recent experience and are sorry to hear you were less than satisfied with our service. Unfortunately, this is an issue with the remitter bank and as such is out of our control. We are working with the bank to get the funds released for you and will continue to keep you updated with further information as and when we receive it. Once again, apologies for the inconvenience this has caused you.

Kind regards,
Global Reach

Looking to change bank Transfer's

We regularly transfer UK sterling to our bank in Cyprus. We have used this company for 4 years now. They have always been excellent, but for the last three transactions. Well, very poor. One transaction took a week before it appears in our Cyprus account, but that was only after a phone call to the office. We also transfered 1400 UK pounds and only 600 was sent to our bank in Cyprus, another phone call to them which they sorted but charged again for the transfer. And today 400 transferred at 7 am this morning. Nothing transferred to our Cyprus bank.
Another phone call on Monday I suppose.
If they are there, Christmas Eve.

Unreliable, terrible costumer service.

GRP is one of those companies you want to avoid at all costs. Their sales department keeps chasing you aggressively until you close a contract with them. And from that day forward, all communications & costumer service from their side is reduced to an absolute minimum. And, if you ask to many questions (like I did) they simply ban you from their services. You do however still bare all the risk & obligations that came with the forward contract you foolishly took from them.

edit 1: please show me a document that proves you have shut out all businesses in our branch, instead of just us. HIDDEN CLIENT CODE. Also: its not just this, its been a horrible experience from the start. I have had for example 3 different account managers in a few months and all of them seem to be on vacation or out of office everytime I have an urgent question

Thank you for your feedback. We have recently carried out a review of our internal risk appetite policy and as a result there are some industries we will no longer be providing a service to. If your company sits within one of the affected industries, this has unfortunately meant we have chosen to give you notice to terminate our trade agreement with you. Please be assured that this is not a reflection of any conduct on your behalf, nor is it a criticism of your business, it is simply the result of a shift in our internal compliance policies and our global assessment of risk.

I am sorry to learn that you feel you haven’t been given the appropriate level of communication and service, I have passed your feedback to our complaints department. Please can you confirm your client code so we are able to contact you to look into the issues you have experienced.

Kind regards,

Global Reach Partners

Beware of hidden fees when sending funds!

This review should have been written a few years ago but I had no evidence implicating GRP until now. When sending £3k abroad back in January 2015, despite I paid GRP a £20 fee I was still charged another $32 intermediary bank(s) fees, apparently since they (GRP) instructed intermediary banks to do so by means of setting field 71A in the wire instruction to value SHA (=shared) instead of OUR/REMITTER, as follows from the MT103 wire trace. When I escalated the issue to GRP they blamed the intermediary banks for charging me and suggested using different intermediary banks from then own (even though I have no authority to choose them: all I can enter is the details of my own receiving bank).

I've just asked my GRP account manager Jonathan Goss to quote the paragraph in the applicable T&C describing all applicable fees and there's been no reply for a week suggesting that he/they may have no interest in following up on it now that the root cause has been found. Publishing it here in an attempt to warn all prospective customers so they don't hit the same issue.

U͟p͟d͟a͟t͟e͟ 16/03/2018 (final): got my complaint addressed and besides getting a full refund was referred to clause 12.13 Charges for Payments from the T&C of GRP's sister comany FC Exchange (which became GRP's private client arm at some point later as my account had been opened with GRP directly), so apparently those intermediary bank fees can no longer be called hidden. It would have been ideal if that was the case since inception. Many thanks to Complaints Executive Rachel Johnson for all her efforts looking into this issue for me.

Thank you for your feedback. We would like the opportunity to look into the issue you faced in 2015. If you would like to email our complaints department with your account details we will be able to investigate on complaints@fcexchange.com.

Your account manager at the time has since left our business and our private client arm is now FC Exchange which will have been why you haven't received a reply to your email, I apologise for this.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Update 12/02/2018: In reply to your update, unfortunately we have not received an email from you to the address above. Please can you forward your email to rjohnson@fcexchange.com who will be able to help with your query.

Extremely poor customer service from this company. They're looking to rob you at every opportunity. A currency exchange house should be a partner in business to help each other however this company only looks after themselves. Will over charge you at any chance even if agreed to be on a set spread as they know customers are busy in their businesses will try to put you into a corner. If there was a lower score than 1 I think even that would be too high for this company. All the positive comments are mainly from their own employees on here.
