Comfort-Isolatie 

Avoid at all costs.

Comfort-Isolatie B.V. (KvK 85058599, Heemskerk) was hired to install PIF Biobased ROOF 35 insulation foil across 36 m2 of sloped attic ceiling at my property in Maarssen. The work was carried out on 15 May 2026, invoiced at EUR 2,700 (invoice 2026/9051) with a 5-day payment term.
Quality of work: poor
The installation was defective on multiple counts. The insulation foil was left sagging rather than being secured tightly against the MDF backing boards with isolatieschijven, as required by the manufacturer's own installation guidelines. There was a perfectly flat, solid MDF surface to attach to, and they still didn't do it properly. Insulation was missing entirely in several areas, did not reach the floor on the outer sections, and was unevenly and incorrectly finished around three Velux roof windows. This was my daily home office, so the impact was immediate and constant.
Property damage
On top of the defective installation, the installers scratched a tabletop and dented a floor tile during the work. Their confirmation email includes a disclaimer about "soiling" (bevuiling), but physical damage to furniture and flooring is not soiling. That distinction matters under Dutch consumer law.
Communication and complaint handling: terrible
I reported the defects with photographic evidence two days after installation, on 17 May, and invoked my right to suspend payment under Art. 6:52 BW. The property damage was reported the following day. For the next eleven days, the back office refused to forward my complaint internally. I received no substantive response until 29 May, when a service department employee (Jielis de Vries) proposed a site visit on either 8 or 11 June. I confirmed 8 June.
On 8 June, despite multiple SMS confirmations, nobody showed up. No call, no message, no cancellation notice. I had rearranged my schedule for the visit.
Deflection tactics
When the company finally did respond, they tried to argue that a vacuum cleaning system in the attic had limited their installers' ability to do the work properly. This contradicted their own appointment confirmation email, which explicitly states that complete clearing of the attic is not necessary. More importantly, the installers raised zero concerns about access during the actual installation. I was in the next room the entire time. They said nothing.
Resolution
After formal legal correspondence including an ingebrekestelling, a final deadline letter, and reference to omzettingsverklaring (Art. 6:87 BW), the company did eventually come back and fix the insulation defects. However, the property damage to the table and floor has never been addressed or compensated.

It's been 3 month! There is no resolution, no communication. This company is a scam!

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Comfort-Isolatie.

I hired them for two insulation jobs. Before the first job, I was told that once once the insulation materials are placed on my attic every insulation will be secured with drywalls (giepsplaats) but that never happened. I have been trying to raise this same issue over and over again and got no satisfying response. When I reached to the representative he said he had left the company and his manager is now taking care of everything. I reached out to the manager as well and he kept asking me to wait and I am waiting since 2 months now.

so my points are :
1. The first job (attic insulation) was completed very poorly and immediately and asked them to cancel the second job because I had lost confidence, instead, they asked me to let them complete the second job and promised they would send someone to inspect the attic afterwards. That inspection never happened.

2. They also repeatedly promised they would help me obtain the subsidy after the second job. That never happened either.

3. Over the last two months I emailed them multiple times. Every single time either there is no response or " we are looking for a solution", this answer I received.

No one ever followed through.

As a result, I have:

- Paid for work that I believe is of poor quality.
- Spent months chasing them.
- Received no meaningful support.

My experience has been extremely frustrating. I cannot recommend this company based on the quality of the work or their after-sales service.

Everything was neatly done, and the service was quick. Afterwards good help with the subsidie application.

- “Your consultant isn’t here today.”
- “We’ll call you back.”
- “We don’t have his phone number in our system.”
- Other similar explanations.

No one ever followed through.

As a result, I have:

- Paid for work that I believe is of poor quality.
- Spent months chasing them.
- Received no meaningful support.
- Been left to deal with the subsidy process on my own despite their promises.

My experience has been extremely frustrating. I cannot recommend this company based on the quality of the work or their after-sales service.

I had a very disappointing experience with Comfort-Isolatie.

I engaged them for ceiling and insulation works at my property, with a total cost of around EUR 16,000. From the outset, there was a serious lack of transparency. The initial quotation was incorrect, and I never received a revised or confirmed quote reflecting the actual scope of work. In addition, a different insulation material was used without any prior notice or updated pricing.

The execution of the works was highly unprofessional. Walls and floors were damaged, the property was left extremely dirty, and all waste materials were left on my balcony despite clear confirmation that removal was included. I had to arrange disposal and cleaning myself.

They also created electrical issues in my kitchen, meaning the ceiling light can no longer be connected. In the corridor, existing spotlights were supposed to be replaced, but instead they left a hanging cable. I had to purchase new lights myself and arrange for installation at my own expense.

There was also a clear lack of communication between the office and the teams carrying out the work, which resulted in delays, incorrect information on site, and additional stress on my side. The works were not completed before my move-in date, causing significant disruption.

What is most concerning is the complete lack of communication afterwards. I submitted multiple complaints to their dedicated team starting on 30 March, but received no response. Despite this, on 22 April I received an invoice for the full amount (with a different description of the works), with no acknowledgment of the issues or any proposed reduction.

To date, I have still not received any reply. I have formally disputed the invoice by sending a registered legal letter.

For a project of this value, I expected professionalism, transparency, and basic customer care. Unfortunately, my experience has been the opposite, and I would strongly advise others to proceed with caution.

Our advisor was Duco and he was crystal clear about the costs and the amount that we would get back from the subsidies, the appointment for the isolation was set within 2 weeks and it was done on time without any complications.

All in all a good experience

They were here today and made a very good job, very quick, nice and they cleaned all the mess up. They even helped us to get the subsidies very quickly.
The time in-between ordering the job and performing was also relatively quick.

Very bad experience.they didn’t install plastic Velux tilt windows as they promised .the rain was coming inside and the wind came in the room.My roof tiles were sliding down They don’t call you back ,complete radiosilence. Criminals!!!!!!Do not let this company isolate youre house .BE WARNED!!!!

Very good experience with Comfort-Isolatie. Jurgan and the team were professional, punctual, and the work was done neatly and efficiently. Communication was clear throughout the process. I was approached by this company on the doorstep in Leiden and will give my experience of them in bullet points:

- Having agreed to do the work with a discount for insulating the kruipruimte and walls, they came in September 2025 to first do the kruipruimte. The representative of the company having already told my wife they were: 'milking' the subsidies given for this work.

- They arrived and spent no more than 10 minutes doing the kruipruimte (no-one went down there). I inspected the work and there was no insulation in approximately 75% of our kruipruimte....just a mountain of parels approximately 2 meters away from the kruipruimte entrance. When my wife confronted the workmen, they said: " the parels will spread themselves out". There should have been between 20-40cm of parels evenly spread over the entire kruipruimte.....there was nowhere near this. My wife checked online and we found out that for our sized home they should have been there for 1.5 hours.... NOT 10 minutes. I immediately cancelled the work with them for the wall insulation.

- It was only because the invoice for the work from Comfort-Isolatie was incorrect that my wife didn't pay. Thanks god she didn't.

- I have since written to the Energie Loket (the organisation involved with the subsidies for home energy improvements) and provided the photos and description. They wrote back to me telling me they would warn customers of Comfort-Isolatie. I then wrote to gemeente Leiden warning of this problem and am still waiting for a reply.

- I have since heard from a neighbor that her father's home was also done by Comfort-Isolatie and again, they only spent 10 minutes there.

My advice is.... NEVER have this company do any work on your home. And some advice for Comfort-Isolatie.... if you want this problem with me resolved, you can bring the machine that put the parels into my kruipruimte and switch it to suck and take them all back out again.
