I met with several solicitors and spoke with them in detail before i settled on Alderstone Solicitors - Quentin and his assistant Emily represented me. they built a case and filed a claim against the insurance company of a drunk driver who caused the death of my Son.
Quentin’s approach was completely different than others far more positive about obtaining a good outcome from the outset, all the other solicitors i spoke with were asking me to manage my expectations before even being appointed - telling me how little the compensation would be.
Quentin and his team were very thorough and appointed all the right experts in their field to build a case which was very complex due to circumstances, not only did he promise to do his best , he actually delivered and secured far more compensation for my grandchildren than i ever thought was possible , Quentin and Emily did exactly what they said they would - which is a refreshing change, I was over the moon with the outcome. If you want a team who will push for a settlement that is at the right level rather than just settle for the run of the mill - then I have no reservations in recommending Quentin and his team , you won’t be disappointed.

I Finally decided to make this review as I was so upset at the lack of care/humanity/duty of care by Alderstone solicitors that I just blanked this for over a year, though I must admit that I still find this difficult to write.
I am a member of the Brain Charity due to my medical issues made worse by NHS negligence and this firm of solicitors was recommended by the charity if I needed to make a claim on a no win no fee basis. Due to this recommendation, I was hoping that they would be more than your typical ambulance chasers: unfortunately, I was mistaken. I wanted to make just enough money on the claim so that I could have the required operation abroad as I have no faith or trust in the NHS.
The claim began in late 2022 when Alderstone solicitors decided to take my case on. For the first time I felt some hope and filled in the necessary paperwork and always provided all information required within a few days at most. The months and then years passed with occasional emails requesting further information, which I always provided in detail and promptly. On their side, there was no support, no asking how I was feeling/coping and no keeping me updated as to how my claim was progressing. My wife kept telling me that I should complain to them at the service they were providing, but I felt that as a no win no fee client I should keep silent and let them go at their own pace.
Finally with frustration mounting, I did contact them in February 2025. They said they were dropping my claim: but what really made me shake my head is when I pushed them, I found out that they made that decision in November the PREVIOUS YEAR but they just did not bother to inform me. On top of this, they did not even keep the original appointment to inform me of their decision and when rebooked, it was very short and sharp without any real help or assistance on how I should proceed from there.
Recently I decided to have someone look over my case and was told I had a decent chance of success
In my claim, but that Alderstone would not want to take the risk of losing as it would cost them and there were plenty of other cases that they could cherry pick with a greater more concrete chance of success.
The moral of this story: Alderstone are all about the money and purely a business. If they can see the pound notes in their eyes from your claim, they will be great. Otherwise, you will be treated just like me.
I have purposefully kept all the names from Alderstone solicitors out if this email but if needed these can be provided if I need to prove what I have written.

REPLY TO ALDERSTONE RESPONSE TO MY REVIEW

I pretty much guessed what the gist of your response would be: skim and gloss over the saliant points I raised and readers would think that you cannot please all the people all the time and I was simply a disgruntled client. But you are in the wrong.
You have not answered a lot of questions that I raised: For example, you made a decision back in November to drop my case and yet I was never informed. If I had not contacted you in January the following year to ask what was happening, would I now still be waiting?
You decision to drop my case is obviously your prerogative as you believed that there was not enough money in it for you even if you won: but at least treat all your clients with a degree of respect and not just the ones you deem to be the cash cows.
Oh, by the way, I have nearly saved enough money for my operation so hopefully I will be out of this constant pain soon………..Thanks for asking!
