Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 140 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. People were disappointed to find that the items are manufactured in China rather than locally crafted, despite the misleading presentation suggesting traditional British heritage. Customers also noted that the shipping took several weeks to arrive, and the products felt severely overpriced for the mediocre quality received. Some reviewers were happy with their purchases, pointing out the comfortable fit and durable materials of the caps. Consumers additionally mentioned that tracking information was consistently kept up to date and the hats arrived safely packaged. Others appreciated the adjustable sizing and classic styling that easily matched casual wear.

Casual Sophistication

I was looking for a hat that was what I considered smart casual and after couple of unsuccessful attempts I found this hat suited to what I wanted with the provision to adjust to my larger than average head.

Absolute rubbish

Absolute rubbish. Waited over 2 weeks for the cap to arrive. When it did, it was damaged and looked nothing like the ones advertised. Made from cheap, flimsy materials. The manufacturers tag had clearly been cut off. Don’t waste your money! Terrible, mass produced Chinese garbage.

Poor quality.

Claimed to be hand made. Product is a cheap made in China cap. Very disappointed with quality. Absolute rubbish and would not recommend it. Don’t waste your money

relaxed cap for general use

I needed a relaxed cap for general use in all conditions. These caps, made of light washed-denim cloth and in several colors, fit that need almost exactly. The caps are set to fit using side panel straps rather than a single strap at the back, allowing a good fit that does not just pull the cap back on your head. Good for any casual or work wear, durable materials and clean styling allow upgrade to more formal, but less than black tie, situations. Glad I got several!

Hat's did not fit

Hat's did not fit. Poor quality. Had to take pictures with measuring tape and send pic's off to customer service. I was told I would have to pay to have them returned to China. Was only offered a 60% refund on my purchase. Very misleading advertising. Stay away is my recomendation.

The Cap

The negatives first. The website gives a very strong impression that this is an old well established English company founded by two English gents some years ago using only the finest materials available. Totally mis leading. From what I can gather these caps are mass produced in china and not made in small batches in the UK.
Positives
Good communication all the way through my experience. The cap arrived today after around two weeks, tracking was kept up to date and I was able to track throughout. Upon inspection the cap is very well made, as to the grade and quality of the denim I am no expert but it appears to be fine. Neat stitching and I have to say as described. It sits and fits well brass buckle for adjustments as described. No sign of any label to the effect of made in china. Price wise I would say a little expensive, would I buy another, probably not. I would visit a good quality mens hatters here in the Uk, which I am planning to do, obviously it will cost more.

Great cap!

I've received my cap, albeit it took a while, but I'm happy with it. The cap fits very well indeed. The only reason for 4 stars was the time it took, but I've had no issues otherwise at all. The cap looks great by the way!

This AI company is a fraud

The company’s marketing is 5 stars. The company is no stars. Please believe all the 1 star comments you read. The are 100% true and accurate. Please DO NOT buy from “Winston and Wilfred”. If you want a similar cap go to Temu.

AVOID - Not professional cap makers

Ordred via their web presence. paid for a cap and a cap retainer to keep its shape. The product arrived via the UK carrier about 16 days after ordering. The cap was of poor quality, there was no lining, or makers label. There was no slack in the adjustment band. The impression given in the publicity was that they were professional hatters in the UK. There is no UK company with the name Winston and Wilfred, check Companies House. The routing of the product is suspicious as it appears to have originated in the USA, or that's where the last leg of its international flight was from. Also had to clear UK Customs on its arrival at East Midlands Airport. It then took three days to be delivered via their chosen carrier. That all taken together this appears to be a "drop-ship" company, with likely origins in the Far East. My recommendation - AVOID.

Total Scam

The website said the hats were hand made in their shop in London. It sounded legitimate. When I received my hats they were complete garbage. A tag had been removed from one hat, the other had a Made in China label. The “leather” cap was thin faux leather. When I tried it on the back went up to a point. I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing it. The other cap was something you could find in a dollar store. Also, my wife discovered the hats were shipped from somewhere in Wyoming, not Great Britain. W&W are nothing but scam artists. Do NOT order from these criminals.

Easy to order

Easy to order, tracking shows it came from China and arrived in 10 days.

Quality is only fair to say the best. Feels flimsy and not a quality item. Despite 50% off still not good value for money.

Complete Disaster .. as my order reaches

The ‘cap’ finally was collected after a gruelling wait of 12 days and I am simply wondering whether I should be happy something is in my hand or rue the fact that I am yet to see anything more substandard !

Your product sets the worst possible manufacturing and quality benchmark and you should be ashamed of duping discerning customers…

A third rate product emerging from the bylanes of hinterland and masquerading as a product of British origin is an utter disgrace and nothing short of a Fraud / scam / Con game that is not worth even 2.4 £ leave alone the princely sum of 24£ that I was suckered into paying for it.

I shall never repeat the mistake also ensuring to Warn / caution all potential customers to stay away from your fake company like Bubonic plague ..
