Deceiving customer service attempting to charge more than official prices.
We booked 8 nights accommodation (6 Booking.com and 2 full price last minute) for the Avalon Airshow. Then outback Qld scored a years worth of rain in four days and became an inland sea - all roads closed in the region in the region (supported supported by a letter from the Longreach Regional Area Council, Recovery & Resilience Manager ).
Two nights of the booking were not used - PuntHill Williamtown was advised of the disaster early in the week and could have chosen to resell the rooms. Ticketek (Airshow provider) refunded in full and Booking.com sent an email saying they had asked Punt Hill to make an exception. They refused and I have now been charged for two nights in a room that was not checked into.
Not only this but we were subjected to low level harassment with rooms not serviced and access keys cancelled requiring half hour calls to reinstate - each day. My brother spend an hour locked in the basement because his key stopped working.
After some years of booking for Melbourne based events, my family and I will be searching for other accommodation in future...Beware
