Don't trust their "Quotes"if they use your measurements.

I’ve been to Iran and had a wonderful experience with everyone there. So I trusted the Persian owners who were initially very charming and helpful but after their shameful behaviour towards me they have disgraced their countrymen. BEWARE don’t accept an ESTIMATE or “their so called Quote” unless it’s based on THEIR measurements NOT YOURS.
I chose my carpet and, based on my measurements, I was given a “quote” but it actually said TAX INVOICE, also their “Invoice” was particularly confusing. At that point I should have been wary. We negotiated the price as $6,000.0 & they took a deposit of $2,400.00.
I understood any discrepancy between my measurements meant the price would be adjusted but I was confident my measurements were accurate. They never checked to make sure I had taken them in the way they wanted. Two days later a guy came to measure, he said nothing about my measurements being different from theirs. I heard no more from them until 11 days later when I rang to ask if the carpet could be installed asap.
That’s when I saw another side to them. I was IMMEDIATELY sent the final invoice, TO BE PAID BEFORE DELIVERY but it was a new invoice and was $1,795.00 more than my original one. I naturally wouldn’t accept this because I hadn’t heard or received anything from them advising of any increase and therefor I had never even had a chance to accept it. They just said they needed 17.5 square metres xtra “ because of the way they had to lay the carpet” as it wasn’t clear that the three rooms opened onto the hallway… I said I wanted to cancel.. but of course there is a clause in small print saying that would incur a fee… of 15% of the invoice. After a lot of wasted energy trying to get them to acknowledge they were at fault for not telling me of any increase straight away, I had to give up because I’d had enough.
They know litigation takes forever and with the house being painted and all the furniture piled up you are not going to be able to manage without a carpet for long.
So they can just get away with murder..I did get a refund but they kept $900.0
Not bad for doing absolutely nothing.!! I just hope this review gets read enough to warn people and damage their reputation.
