Very poor experience – £150 out of pocket for returning unacceptable paving

I am extremely disappointed with my experience of Paving UK and would strongly advise potential customers to look carefully at my photographs before ordering.

We purchased three pallets of paving slabs expecting a good-quality product. However, what arrived was extremely disappointing. The slabs had noticeable dark streaks, discolouration around the edges and orange-brown markings across their surfaces.

When we raised our concerns with Paving UK, we were told that these marks were simply part of the tiles.

I find this explanation very difficult to accept. I fully appreciate that natural stone can have variations in colour and appearance, but I do not believe the slabs we received were of an acceptable standard. The photographs speak for themselves, and I would encourage prospective customers to judge the appearance for themselves.

Although Paving UK agreed to refund the paving under their returns policy, they deducted £50 per pallet – £150 in total – for returning the good.

So we have ended up £150 out of pocket, with no paving, despite raising genuine concerns about the condition and appearance of the product supplied.

What I find particularly disappointing is that Paving UK appears to consider these markings acceptable and expects the customer to bear the cost of returning the slabs if they disagree.

Surely a company should take greater responsibility when a customer receives a product they believe is significantly below the quality they reasonably expected?

This whole experience has wasted our time, delayed our project and cost us £150.

I am sharing these photographs and my experience so other customers can make an informed decision before purchasing.

My advice: Be extremely cautious when ordering from Paving Uk. Ask exactly what markings and discolouration they consider acceptable and be aware that returning an unsatisfactory order could leave you significantly out of pocket.

Very disappointing product appearance, customer service and overall experience. I certainly would not purchase from this company again.

Easy to order a sample on line, sample was good and arrived well packed in good time.
Have spoken to assistant on the phone about ordering andwill now order the porcelain slabs.

All delivered great, a couple of slabs were broken.

Ordered samples 20th September to show a customer! 18th October still not got them. Paid £19 for them not even coming 😡 shocking ! Can’t even get hold of anyone !!

Although I had no dealings with the customer service team, this must be to their credit - the website was really easy to use and get a delivery booked (I had a bulk bag of gravel so needed to choose which size vehicle was suitable). Nice and easy, and also how soon I could make the booking, within just a couple of days! I'd read terrible reviews on similar sites about the delivery company not showing, but the one used by Paving UK was no problem at all, only thing being that I did have to call to check it was on it's way as the bag hadn't been scanned as on the delivery truck! But they confirmed straight away for me and the delivery guy was very helpful with unloading. Also - fantastic value compared to some other sites! Will definitely use again if I have another project like this.

Delivery on time. Well packaged paving slabs received without any breakages. Reasonably priced in comparison with other companies. Really please with my purchase.

Extremely poor, couldn't even send the sample that had to be paid for. Imagine how much you'd be robbed if you actually placed an order!!

A refund was requested on 12/10/26 in respect of which, surprise surprise, no reply has been received

Delivered on time , product colour as the described , quality porcelain, not one damaged. Well packed would buy from them again.

Absolutely shocking, slabs didn’t get delivered on time, when they did, we received a full pallet of cracked and slabs with marks on them. These slabs was even marked with caulk so someone obviously knew about this. We’ve asked for replacement slabs but they can’t deliver them for another 3 weeks.

The ivory beige porcelain paving stones are a beautiful colour and excellent quality. The non-slip surface is very effective indeed. I am very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend ☺️

At the outset of ordering my paving slabs the person taking my enquiry was incredibly helpful. Working out the cost & how many slabs I needed.

The delivery was quick & the driver very super efficient in placing the slabs in position at my garden gate. Really polite & helpful.

No communication until I called and cancelled the order because it didn't arrive on the day it was due! Cost me small fortune in lost wages! Spent over 2k and then took 10 Days to finally receive my refund which appeared at 16.45 on a Friday!

Good product well packaged and did the job perfectly no damaged products on delivery very very pleased
